Just in time to celebrate its 90th anniversary, Madison Avenue’s famed, Carlyle Hotel opened its doors to guests this week. Bemelmans Bar, Café Carlyle, The Gallery, and The Carlyle Restaurant are set to reopen in phases.
New Yorkers and non-New Yorkers alike are enchanted by the romanticism of the Rosewood-owned Carlyle. It’s the tallest structure on Madison Avenue and understandably has some of the best views that extend past Central Park, through the Hudson River, and over to New Jersey. The famous Empire Suite, which is located on the 29th floor, has absolutely breathtaking views from the master bedroom and has been featured in numerous films.

One wouldn’t dream about walking into Bemelmans Bar underdressed and the flurry of Singles Day sales is a fine way to plan ahead. Most recently Nugnes 1920, a boutique located in Italy, started a promotion where most all merchandise is reduced 25% off with the code DEALMOON25SD. A Gucci belt $291 from $470, a Fendi camera bag $874 from $1290 US, the Saint Laurent Loulou bag is $1151 from $1490 US, and a is Moncler Puffer $752 from $1200 US.
Another great Singles Day promotion can be found at Harvey Nichols where the code SINGLESTYLEUS will save you 22% off purchases over $800 (excluding beauty) or 11% off everything $799 or under. We highly suggest you check out the Golden Goose options that come to nearly 50% off US prices once you apply the discount. This promotion is a also prime opportunity to also stock up on some gift items. This Off-White Jitney bag is $805 from $1225 normally and Roger Vivier pumps are $472 from $695. You can click here to see some more of my favorite deals from Harvey Nichols.
In other shopping news, Bergdorf Goodman is hosting a sale where a plethora of designer sale merchandise is discounted an additional 20% off, which brings the total saving to nearly 80% on some items. The Manolo Blahnik selection is plentiful. Here are pink suede pumps for $212 from $666 and multi-color lizard heels are $300 from $924. The sale ends at midnight Saturday, so you might want to do one last scroll through my suggestions of the best finds.
Looking forward, the holiday season has unofficially started. (The Park Avenue trees are even up.) In the US, there will be a smattering of smaller markdowns and the big designer sales will start in mid-November.
That’s it for now folks. Until next time… same time, same place?
