    Italy: Half-Off Past Season Merchandise

In the past year, we have found ourselves shopping at Italian retailers as much as big neighborhood department stores. Even if the merchandise selection is very similar each store offers a distinct point of view and there is always an opportunity to find something new.

Modes, which is located in Sicily, is hosting a sale were past season merchandise is discounted up to 50% off. Check out this Saint Laurent blazer that’s $1645 from $3300, a Balmain tank is $198 from $395,  an Isabel Marant mini drawstring bag is $263 from $438, and this Balenciaga quilted leather belt bag is $532 from $887.

These Benedetta Bruzziches beaded bags are super popular throughout Italy and France and are reduced to $421 from $700. They have a similar shape to the Bottega Veneta pouch but the beading makes it a more glam and the prices are a lot less expensive. These Fendi espadrilles are $414 from $690, a Givenchy tote bag is $1074 from $1790 and these Balmain boots are $875 from $1750.

Modes offers free shipping and returns and all duties are included. That adds up to triple savings and is a great reason to keep the site bookmarked for future markdowns.

Saks Fifth Avenue Friends & Family Sale

Sponsored by Saks Fifth Avenue and Shopstyle

The Saks Friends & Family sale starts today. Online and in-store shoppers can save 25% off select apparel, shoes, handbags, jewelry, and accessories. The best part is that there are lots of very transitional items that can be incorporated from at-home casual to going out fabulous.

All items included in the promotion are indicated. I suggest you browse through the options from Cinq å Sept. I immediately fell in love with this wool cape that comes to $521 from $675. I love how it can add drama to a fairly basic jeans and sweater combination and it’s also perfect for more dressed up encounters too. You can see more pictures here.  I am also crazy about this Alice & Olivia blouson-sleeve sweater that comes to $330 from $440.

In the shoe selection, you can focus your attention on the great options from See By Chloe and Nicholas Kirkwood. These See by Chloe shearling boots come to $318 from $475 and classic Kirkwood boots with a pearl heel are about $750 from $995.
The Saks Friends & Family sale is a great opportunity to stock up on some fresh denim and sweaters. I love the relaxed nature of these Ksubi Playback jeans and this Design History cardigan comes in three colors and is only $90 from $120.

The friends & family promotion runs through October 4 online and in stores. This is a great opportunity for big savings on what you need now the next markdown won’t be for some time.

Hopefully, life won’t leave us in a confined habitat this Winter. I’m looking forward to a more dressed season. I suggest scrolling through the options from MarniAcne, and Ulla Johnson for a little whimsical positivity.

If the item you’re watching isn’t included in this markdown Shopbop is likely to add it in the next sale drop. Usually, the site adds batches of merchandise every few weeks.

    INTERMIX: Flash Sale 40% Off

                                                Sponsored by INTERMIX and ShopStyle

Intermix started a flash sale that will save you a selection of priced merchandise. The sale isn’t slated to start until Tuesday but you can use this “VIP link” to access the savings now.

Jumping right in, this Veronica Beard blazer is $360 from nearly $600, an IRO leather biker jacket is $780 from $1300, and this drape neck Ronny Kobo tank is incredible and reduced to $210 from $348. There are also a lot of great denim options like this SLVRLAKE cropped high rise jean that’s $168 from $280 and L’Agence cropped cuffed jeans are $159 from $265.

The flash sale applies to some sale items too like this Acler lace blouse that comes to $119 from $330, an ALC puffed sleeve tee is $60 from $150, L’agance skinny jeans are $90 from $250, and this Racil tuxedo blazer is $222 from $1240.

Moving on to full price merchandise, these gorgeous high-waisted leather pants from INTERMIX are a clear Fall fashion hero. A trendy pair of leather pants might not seem like a basic wardrobe hero but when styled the right way you can achieve a variety of different looks with just a swap of a basic top. The best part is that regardless of the combination, you’ll never look basic or boring.

Some of the options I pulled include this white knit tank ($158), which is perfect for late Summer transitional days. I paired this army green sleeveless top with shoulder button details ($188) with the pants for an additional look that seamlessly transitions from office to nighttime. A black tank ($158) is obviously evening ready and can be paired under a blazer as a chill hits the air.  Finally, a  relaxed black cashmere sweater ($248) will carry these pants through the deep cold of Winter.

As an added bonus, I paired the pants with an exaggerated shoulder cashmere tank from Ronny Kobo ($378). The sweater is a hero piece of its own and also pairs with jeans for a more relaxed look or slacks for a more dressed up work-appropriate ensemble.

One pair of pants can really carry you to almost any occasion from September to April. INTERMIX has a wonderful selection of exclusive pieces and private collection pieces that can be your personal hero. Click here to see exactly how I styled all these ensembles and scroll through the product images above to see exactly what I’m wearing.

    Weekend Shopping: Obsessions & Impulses

As I scrolled through Vogue.com looking for inspiring fashion week pictures, I started to wonder; Can fashion week really exist if there aren’t any selfies? Beyond Corona, this year was just too heavy to endure the look-at-me-sitting-front-row brag. Could anyone really stomach the ‘I think you’re sitting in my seat’ or the ‘I don’t see your name on the list‘ confrontation?

As much as I love fashion and fashion shows, I must say, good riddance! I’m very happy to not know what Bella Hadid ate backstage or Nikki McGuire’s fashion week survival tips. It was never very interesting and this year proves how little it’s always mattered.
The online venue was a disaster for most designers looking to attract eyeballs and create buzz. As I predicted, however, the most thoughtful and creative minds in fashion emerged as delicate leaders.  The debut of the Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons duo collection might not have been earth-shattering but I did love that they took to the stage for a public conversation.
The most creative fashion week presentation was by Jeremy Scott for Moschino. The designer staged a full puppet show that was filled with imagination. The concept celebrated the whimsy that has always been part of the Moschino DNA. Marionettes of famous models showcased 40 couture-level looks. The front row was also reenacted by scaled-down futures representing the likeness of fashion’s most known figures such as Anna Wintour and Edward Enninful.
Let’s step off off the runway conveyor belt and move on to shopping sales.  Friday night, Nordstrom started a private designer markdown where reductions are up to 70% off. You must use this link to view the discounts. Some of the highlights include Roger Vivier shoes with a classic buckle for $262 from $875 and here is a Prada floral print pump for $225 from $750. Macy’s is hosting a beauty promotion with discounts of 15% off.  Dior beauty and  Gucci fragrances are included. It might be worth checking out if you are starting to scoop at the bottom of your favorite moisturizer.
Looking back on the week, Net-A-Porter started an early Fall shoe promotion, where many styles are discounted 15% off with the code SHOPSTYLE15. Some of the most tempting purchases include the great assortment of Golden Goose sneakers I also love these Fendi boots that come to $892 from $1050, Nicholas Kirkwood boots with a pearl heel are $833 from $980. You can click here to see what brands are excluded and to see my other finds.

A Nicole Benisi puffer that’s lined with shearling for about $1300 from $2900 and an Off-White puffer is $630 from $1890. Click over this way to see more of what we dug up on the site.
This week, I also had so much fun working with Intermix to style the ultimate Fall essential pair of high-waisted leather pants.  Check out how I incorporated the pants into a half-dozen outfits that are neither basic nor boring.
That’s it for now folks…Weekend Shopping will be off until October 17. See ya then!
