Sales: Burberry, Mansur Gavriel and Stuart Weitzman

In lieu of our normal Madison Avenue crawl, we are digging into brand markdowns. The sale sections of Burberry, Mansur Gavriel, and Stuart Weitzman are definitely worth the scroll.

Burberry launched it’s outlet online. Most of the discounts range from 40% to 80% off.  The selection is great but some of the discounts aren’t where we want them to be. There are some standouts that are worth buying now including, this sleeveless dress that’s $253 from $1250, a classic plaid check shirt that’s $224 from $350, and a cashmere-lined down coat with a fur collar for $870 from $3100.

The  Stuart Weitzman “sample sale” contains a variety of shoes that are all priced under $200.  These low-heel suede stretch boots $170 from $575,  low stacked heel sandals are $160 from $450,  and the classic nude ankle strap sandal is $150 from $400. A lot of the selection is comprised of winter styles but the prices are good enough to entice you to stock up now and save them for later.

Over at Mansur Gavriel the discounts are 30% to 50% off.  A classic mini bucket bag is between $415 and $475 from $665, depending on the color.  Totes are $415 from $595, short heel sandals are $200 from $395, and a ruched cotton skirt is $325 from $645.

During the public Mansur sample sale, discounts ranged from 40% to 75% off. A sample sale would boast bags starting at 50% off and shoes would be 70%. We don’t know if there will be an online sample sale but $200 shoes don’t seem too expensive.

    Weekend Shopping: Impulses & Obsessions

I really dislike talking about politics but my voice can’t exist in a bubble that’s only comprised of Gucci shoes and Saint Laurent purses. Racism a topic as old as our nation and even after generations of dialogue and protests, there has not been enough change. It’s about justice. It’s a matter of humanity. We must do more and do better.

Everyone deserves equality and the same chance at the American Dream. That needs to be our collective reality. I can’t profess to know how to get there but moments of collective self-reflection and action spark change.

This week’s fashion sales were a little quite following the Memorial Weekend bonanza. If you’re looking for the perfect Zimmerman frock, the designer is offering 50% off on its own website. The selection is really perfect for a Zimm fan. Here is a halter dress that’s reduced to $320 from $640 and a dress with a bow is $325 from $650.

Over at Savannah’s, which is located in Australia, is hosting a “secret sale” where lots of designer shoes are discounted between 20% and 60% off. Manolo Skysan’s are $540 from $1100, Givenchy black pumps are $240 from $700,  and Christian Louboutin slingbacks are $407 from $815.

Over at Tessabit, Mad-Spy readers can receive an additional 10% off through this link with the code: MADISONAVENUE10X. Highlights include Chloe slingbacks for $270 from $620 US retail. A Balmain dress is $720 from $1450, a Rick Owens leather jacket is $740 from $1638, and Moncler sneakers are  $260 from $475. You can click here to read more details and to see what else we found.

It’s a good time to take another sweep through Italist. We found a Balmain blazer in pink for $850 from $2300 US retail. This Celine logo tee is $273 from $400+ US retail and a Celine sweatshirt is $350 from $515. A Balenciaga swing shirt is $578 from $757. More details are in the full blog post.

We also found the sale section updated at SSense. We found a Mansur Gavriel pouch for $340 from $600. This Off-White Binder Clip bag still feels classic and it’s $573 from $2100 and these Gucci sandals are $570 from $730. You can read more here.

Head over to Coltorti and save 20% off nearly everything on the site with the code DEALMOON20. The 20% off isn’t newsworthy in itself but it adds up to 40% to 50% off US retail and there are lots of great classic designer styles from which to shop. The small YSL LE 61 bag comes to $1145 from $2050 US retail. That’s nearly half-off and there are even more classic styles like YSL Vicky is $1347 from $2000 US retail.  This Fendi tote is $1300 from $2400 US retail and Bottega Veneta heels are $480 from $870 US retail. See, the price difference is really extreme.  The code works on sale merchandise too click here to read more.

This week, we can expect to see additional savings from Saks and MyTheresa. If we are lucky, we might also get a little access to the Net-a-Porter sale.

Until next week… same time, same place?

Lake Como’s Tessabit ‘Best Customers” Discount

The sales in Italy are very competitive this season. The Italian boutique, Tessabit is taking its sale section and reducing designer merchandise even more for it’s ‘best customers’. Mad-Spy readers can receive an additional 10% off through this link with the code: MADISONAVENUE10X.

Remember, the extra discount code can only be applied to the items in this edit. Some highlights include Chloe slingbacks for $270 from $620 US retail. A Balmain dress is $720 from $1450, a Rick Owens leather jacket is $740 from $1638, and Moncler sneakers are  $260 from $475.

We always love a secret sale section but don’t overlook the full-priced merchandise. Most brands are  25% with the code to TSB25. The code doesn’t work on all designers but can be applied to Fendi, Balenciaga, and Givenchy.

The selection for men is as good, if not, better than the options for women. So don’t be shy forwarding the code to your male counterparts.

The best part of the Tessabit promotion is that the merchandise is coming from Italy and many of the items retail for less money when compared to our retail prices. Shipping costs are nominal, all duties are covered and even returns are free. There’s also no sales tax, which can mean a savings of an additional 10%. You can’t do much better than that!

    Italist Discounts Get Serious (Con’t)

As European stores dive deep into sale season, we got a heads up that the multi-boutique platform Italist added more merchandise to its sale section. We couldn’t help from taking –another –scroll to see what deals we could find.

Here is a Balmain blazer in pink for $850 from $2300 US retail. (This item is a great deal for under $1000 and this is even better.) This Celine logo tee is $273 from $400+ US retail and a Celine sweatshirt is $350 from $515. A Balenciaga swing shirt is $578 from $757.

Don’t miss a Golden Goose browse through the kid’s section. Here is GG pair for just $286 from $550-ish US and they are a size 36. This GG with a red star is $350 and available in a size 36 to size 40.

These Italist items will go fast once word gets out. We suggest that you don’t wait very making decisions. It feels like magic when you find a great selection and substantial savings.

    Ssense Designer Finds

Ssense has been leading the charge through sale season. The site’s official designer sale started last week but there have been amazing discounts for months. What’s most surprising is that there are continually new finds.

The best deals aren’t necessarily found in the sale section but within the regularly priced merchandise. For instance, here is a Bottega Veneta pouch bag that’s $2190 from $2700 US retail, these Gucci sandals are $570 from $730 and Gucci tennis sneakers are $535 from $690. As a matter of fact, there are lots of Gucci Princetown loafers for $675 from $730.

For those looking for more aggressive discounts, there is always the sale section. This new season Versace bathing suit is $245 from $545 and this Richard Quinn dress is a find at $331 from $735. This Off-White Binder Clip bag still feels classic and it’s $573 from $2100 and this Mansur Gavriel pouch is $340 from $600. (I don’t recall seeing it less expensive.)
The thing with Ssense is that you have to spend time and explore continuously. We will be sure to add more finds to the post if we over the next few days.

Coltorti: Big Discounts on Classic Luxury

We wouldn’t expect the end of this “socially distanced” holiday weekend to be a big transition but the entire experience felt like a compromise and not completely satisfying. To add a jolt of excitment we saved the best sale for last.

Right now, you can head over to Coltorti and save 20% off nearly everything on the site with the code DEALMOON20.

The code works on sale merchandise too.

Our advice is to search for items that are difficult to find discounted and not to hesitate. The selection is quickly dwindling and we don’t anticipate a restock any time soon. Just take note, that duties aren’t included and that could mean an extra 10% on items valued over $800.

    Weekend Shopping: Impulses & Obsessions

Welcome to week (I lost count) of quarantine weekend shopping. Some notable highlights include Chanel shoppers scrambling to purchase bags before Monday’s price hike and retail stores beginning to open in some parts of the country.

There seems to be a mad rush of shoppers as retail begins to open. (Click here to see a video of Nordstrom Rack in Los Vegas.) Once the initial wave of shoppers purchase what they need and satisfy their desperation to be outside, we will get a more accurate assessment of the retail environment. I am worried the news will not be good.

Those still at home, present company included, will have to continue to satisfy our retail needs online. The good thing is that there are plenty of holiday weekend sales. You can click here to read about them all and to see my favorite sale items.

NEW: Click over to LuisaViaRoma to save 30% off with the code MDAY30. Not everything is included and it’s hard to tell what will work before you put it in the cart with the code. Some hidden highlights include a new season Balenciaga mules for $525 from $750 and the flat style is $1300 from $1900. Fendi espadrilles are $455 from $650 and this Balenciaga tee is $315 from $450. Remember there is no sales tax, duty, or shipping fees, which make the deal even better.

Blue & Cream is offering an extra 25% off sale items with the code MDW25. There are a lot of great Zimmerman items that go down to about 50% off with the code. This embroidered shirt is $312 from $600 and a floral print halter dress is $365 from $700. Also, check out the denim. GRLFRD jeans are $130 from $250 and Mother jean shorts are $85 from $228.

Some of the weekend highlights include Intermix where sale items are an additional 40% off.  Here are Manolo heels for $258 from $725 and white jeans from Veronic Beard are $83 from $220.  I suggest you browse through the denim options. I am willing to take the “final sale risk” on brands I already wear. Intermix has wonderful customer service. I’ve never been burned.

Next, don’t underestimate the markdowns at Saks where some items have been further reduced. An ombre maxi-dress from Sea is $155 from $345, Off-White sneakers are $372 from $620 and these Manolos are $253 from $845.

If you’re looking for the most high-end designer deals, you’re not going to want to miss the holiday promotion on Shop375. Everything on the site is an additional 25% off with the code Memorialday25. This Chanel beach tote for $562 might be the deal of the year. This Balmain tank has become a staple of my Summer wardrobe and it’s $198 from $350.

Yoox has a lot of additional markdowns for the holiday weekend. Saint Laurent logo sandals are $474 from $795 US retail and this Prada iconic print lips skirt is $299 from $650. Over at Kirna Zebete you can save 25% off full-priced merchandise with the code WFH25. I can’t believe this Bottega Veneta Cassette bag is still available at $1400 from $1900. It fits a lot more than the puffy style and it’s a lot more affordable.

Before you tune out and turn in, don’t miss the great beauty promotion from Ole Henriksen. I’ve been using the 3 Wonders Regimen Set for about a month now and love it. You can use the code MADSPY15 and the entire three-piece set comes to just $62.90 from a value of $93. The combination of products is truly all that I’ve bee using and the glow makes me so happy that I’ve sent a few kits to my friends. You can read more about the products here.

For all those wondering, Net-A-Porter won’t begin markdowns until mid-June. We expect this coming week to be a bit quiet following all of the holiday promotions. Even so, you can bet there will be something to buy.

Until next week… Same time, same place?
