The old adage is that no news is good news but when it comes to fashion, no news, is well, boring. We are hard-pressed to find any standout trends or fashion must-haves for the new Spring season.
Insiders say that Summer deliveries won’t actually appear in stores until May, which means we are stuck scrolling a lot of the same. There are a few key seasonal items that are making waves.
One is the Hermes clog. It’s probably the most defining shoe of the season. Good luck finding a pair. Stores are making a hard push for the Prada Sneaker pump but I don’t see many consumers taking the bate.
When it comes to bags, dare I say, Coach is making the most commotion. The Tabby bag seems to have caught the sights of many first-time bag buyers but I have yet seen any in the wild. The Telfar bag is nearly impossible to find unless you don’t mind spending about $50 above retail. If you aspire to be an influencer or are inspired by an influencer you probably already have a Louis Vuitton Coussin.
For now, we will have to do with what’s for sale at stores now. This week has been filled with friends and family sales. The best fashion selection is at Saks Fifth Avenue. Discounts are 25% off many popular brands and 20% off jewelry. Some of my favorite items include Love Shack Fancy lavender sweater ($273 from $365), a Cinq a Sept trench ($46 from $595), and Piranesi amethyst and diamond stud floral earrings ($2420 from $3025). Mother’s Day isn’t too far–hint. hint. You can see more of my favorite items from the friends and family sale in this post.
Neiman Marcus also kicked off its friends and family this week. Shoppers can save 25% on full-price Spring merchandise or 20% off jewelry. There aren’t a lot of good fashion brands included in the promotion but you can find some big wins among houseware items. The home selection might be better than the fashion. There is a nice assortment of Alessi, Kartel, Matouk linens, Kim Sybert, and Chilewich placemats that are 25% off. You can click here to see our favorite finds.
We can now add Bloomingdales to the list of friends. The discount is also 25% off and there is an additional bonus of an extra $25 of rewards for every $100. The best find is that Baccarat is included in the promotion but the discount is only available at the store. A Nespresso machine with frother and coffee is $229 from $480. All-Clad baking sheets are $64 from $182 and Matouk bath towels are $44 from $75.
If you’re looking for higher-end fashion set your sites on D’Aniello boutique. You can use the code MADISON20 to save 20% off most new season items. This Fendi logo cardigan is $1200 from $1590 US, a Prada logo silk top is $800 from $1240 US, and a Balmain cropped tee is $190 from $350 US.
You can also shop Colotorti and use the code OFFERS25 to save 25% off. This YSL canvas tote is $785 from n$1250, a Bia Bongiasca ring is $425 from $675 US, and Ferragamo mules are $507 from $795 US.
Shopbop has markdowns right now where you can save 40% to 70% off 1000s. I suggest scrolling through the options from Marni, Acne, and Ulla Johnson for a little Spring positivity. You can see our favorite sale options here.
Net-A-Porter floated a private discount code that works with lots of great brands, like Christian Louboutin, Golden Goose, Fendi, and more. Using the code TREAT15 at checkout will save you 15% off your purchase and it can be applied to sale items too. Here is the post with all of our favorite sale picks.
Ok kids. That’s all for now. Next week? Same time, same place?
