We are barely done with the first week of November but Saks Fifth Avenue is starting off the holiday shopping season on the right note. Today, we stumbled upon the department store’s ‘Sneak Peek’ sale, which offers customers up to 40% off many designer shoes, bags and clothing.
The main floor of Saks is undergoing a huge renovation and only the south entrance is open. The handbag ’boutiques,’ normally found at the front of the store, have been moved to the back–where fine jewelry used to reside. Near Gucci you will see a table of JW Anderson bags discounted 40%. The online selection is even better. An Anya Hindmarch handbag is discounted to $837 from $1400, a Mark Cross box bag is reduced to $1317 from $2200 and a leather envelop bag from The Row is $1275 from $2550.
Our next stop was express to shoes. The markdown ranges from 25% to 40% off. We were most surprised to find a full range of beautiful Manolo Blahnik Hangisi shoes on the 40% off markdown table. Here are the tweed pumps we saw reduced to $730 from $1045 The online selection is reduced even more. This satin Hangis d’Orsay is $386 from nearly $1000. Other standouts were Off-White riding boots for $1100 from $1500, Saint Laurent pointy toe pumps, and Jimmy Choo sneakers for $486 from $700. Jump over to see pictures of what else we found on the shoe floor.
Most of the clothing that’s on sale is 40% off. There are little racks of nearly every designer. Suede leggings from The Row are $1156 from $2890, a Rick Owens cape is $1400 from $2800 and a Roland Mouret peplum top is $477 from $800. The online selection is little different but there are more items and sizes from which to choose. This Ahluwalia bell-sleeve dress is $600 from $1500 and a Jonathan Simkhai dress is $318 from $800.
The discount signs get taken down on Thursday and everything goes back to full price. Presale for Black Friday should begin next week and the big sales should be starting the week of November 20. See ya then!
