These price increase posts are starting to feel like a joke. Too bad, nobody’s wallets are laughing. Ahead of Mother’s Day, lots of brands are adjusting prices higher and YSL and Cartier are both designers you should be watching this weekend if you have an imminent purchase need. Van Cleef & Arpel’s prices will be about 8-10% higher across the board but Cartier’s, the price increase is much more tolerable at 3% to 5%. The Saint Laurent increase ranges from 8% to 20% on many popular items. Many retailers have already made the changes but below are some places you can snag bags for legacy prices.
Harvey Nichols: The British department store prices bags a little under US retail. You will pay sales tax but no extra duties.
Loulou Toy final price (denim): $1252 from $1550
G&B Negozi: A popular chain of boutique stores in Italy. Prices are a little less than the old US retail prices and you also won’t pay duties or taxes.
Loulou final price: $1425 from $1590
TheDoubleF: A smaller, and lesser-known, English store that offers great prices. Taxes and duties are included.
Toy Loulou final price: $1355 from $1590
Selfridges: The London-based department store does charge import fees and taxes but the total price is shared at checkout. You’ll see that in many cases, the savings from, even current, US prices are considerable.
Loulou Toy final price: $1327 from $1590
