Temperatures are dropping and so are prices. Today, we collected markdown intelligence from Madison Avenue boutiques that are beginning pre-sale and discounts. Take note, some stores can be a bit cagey about their pre-sales. It’s best to ask for a particular sales associate or call ahead to see if an appointment is necessary. It’s still early in the season for great boutique discounts, so we’ll just call this our shopping amuse bouche. Enjoy!

Pre-sale will begin by appointment on Monday, November 23 and the sale officially begins on December 1. Clothing will be discounted 40% and shoes and a few select handbags will be discounted 30%.

Dolce & Gabbana
The pre-sale starts on November 19th but you can begin shopping now. Most of the fall and winter collection of clothing and shoes are discounted 40% off. Not many bags are included in the markdown. The sale officially begins November 27.

Lanvin
It’s hard to know if you should boycott Lanvin or buy everything left that was designed by Albert Elbaz. We would suggest going with the latter considering that the markdown will be 50% off most everything in the store. The official “private pre-sale event” will be on Thursday from 3pm to 7pm. Frankly, earnest shoppers can pre-sale at any time. Merchandise can be taken home as early as Monday, November 23. The sale officially begins Black Friday.

Proenza Schouler
Pre-sale started at Proenza Schouler for VIP clients (i.e. editors, VIPs and those who have shopped at the store previously). The markdown is 50% off clothing AND seasonal color bags. Those who want to take advantage of the pre-sale should take note that merchandise can’t be taken home until the sale is public on November 27. If anyone asks if you got ‘The Email’, say “Yes!” Pre-sale for Tom Ford begins Friday and the store is extending hours for their best shoppers. Clothing and shoes are 50% off and select bags are discounted 40%. The sale officially starts December 1 but Friday pre-salers can take home their merchandise immediately.
