The Manolo Blahnik boutique’s final clearance sale started today and we couldn’t wait to see the treasures with our own eyes. This sale is legendary for the plush discounts that top 75% off. This season, the markdown categories are almost the same as usual. It’s maybe a hair pricier but this isn’t the type of sale where quibble.
As usual, the shoes are marked by colored dots. This year, there are more categories and the starting price is even lower than usual. Prices start at just $175 and go up to $450 for high leather boots. We must admit that we didn’t find a single shoe pried at the bottom level but most pumps were $225 and shoes with ornamentation, like Hangisi, are $295. Low and ankle boots are mainly $325. You can click over this way to see pictures from inside the sale and pricing. Unfortunately, there are no exotic style shoes included in the sale this season. We were also a little disappointed not to find any leftovers from the Manolo Vetement collaboration. (They can be found on markdown over here.)
There was no line to get into the sale Monday afternoon. The atmosphere was very calm and we didn’t witness any hording or overbuying. Most customers left with two or three pairs of shoes. There are also several extra sales people were on hand to assist with the higher volume.
Before you go, be sure to be mindful of the hour. The store closes at 2pm to restock and reorganize the merchandise. It’s always a bummer to forget and show up to find locked doors.
