One of my favorite things about Summer is peeling off all the layers that tend to weigh you down all year long. Rings and jewelry feel cumbersome, my nails are short and haven’t been polished in more than five weeks, I refuse to pick up a blowdryer and can’t remember the last time I wore mascara.
My Summer beauty routine is very minimalistic but it works. I can assure you that this is the complete guide to everything I use to beautify during the Summer. After all, everyone naturally looks better with a little kiss from the sun.
Colleen Rothschild Face Oil ($85): During the year I was mixing a pump of this face oil with the Sheer Renewal Cream. A few weeks ago I cut out the cream and just started moisturizing with the face oil. It seems strange to put oil straight on your face but it adds a gorgeous glow at the end of the day. I especially like the effect because I’m not using any concealer, blush, foundations, bronzers or anything else. This oil is really all I’ve been using and it’s quite perfect.
Fekkai Apres Soleil Creme ($12): Getting that perfect beach wave in your hair is almost as difficult as surfing. I’ve fallen in love with Fekkai’s Soleil hair cream. I love the smell, texture and how it turns my straight hair into natural waves with minimal frizz. It’s essentially a trifecta.
Charlotte Tilbury So Marilyn ($34): Bright red lips in the Summer really don’t work. Neither does nude regardless of what’s trending. We have found the perfect lip isn’t a glossy lip shine or matte neutral. The best look comes from a lip “stain”. We have found the ideal technique is swiping a finger over red lipstick and then blotting your finger on your lips. The transfer is light but adds the perfect amount of color to brighten your eyes.
L’Occitane Verveine Shower Gel ($20): After a long day at the beach the combination of salt, sun, sand, and sunscreen begins to make my skin crawl. I can’t get into the shower fast enough to wash it all away. L’Occitane Verbena is cooling and invigorating. The fragrance and cooling action awakens your senses and leaves you feeling completely refreshed.
For the Love of Hair Caviar Shampoo & Conditioner ($10 each): I am basically a Pantene loyalist but sometimes even your favorite products start to feel heavy and drab. While browsing the shampoo aisle, I found this Caviar shampoo and conditioner set and have been thrilled. I love the scent, the texture, and the results– especially for the price.
