Once upon a time the Manolo Blahnik sample sale was a no-brainer. There was a great assortment of shoes and the prices were absolutely amazing. As time has gone on, the assortment has become smaller and the crowds have become insane.
One way Manolo & Co. has dealt with the crowds is to reduce public shopping hours customers. This season, the sale officially begins on Wednesday for invitees and press. Shoppers like, you and me, aren’t welcome to shop until noon on Thursday. By the time we get in, you can expect that the inventory will be reduced to least desirable shoes in the most extreme of sizes.
The one shimmer of hope is that prices still start at just $100. Personally, we prefer shopping the sales in the boutique. Trying on shoes while sitting on leather banquettes and taking our purchases home in boxes is always worth the extra money.
