Most department stores have started their final clearance sales and selections have become thin. The stock of Chanel merchandise has remained plentiful because only one markdown had been taken.
Things are about to change.
Follow along on Instagram and Twitter as we shop our way through Chanel departments over the weekend.
Starting Friday, Barneys will reduce their entire shoe inventory to 60% off. When we last checked, earlier this week, the selection was plentiful and included lots of boots and sneakers. Tweed high boots will come to about $760 from $1900, patent combo boots with Chanel chain laces will come to $680 from $1700 and mid calf boots with fur tops (chinchilla-like) will go down to $900 from $2250.
The discount at Saks Fifth Avenue is the same but what remains is a little different. Most of the section are sneakers and sneaker-like boots. High tops with a suede body and rubber tips and heel are $380, the low version is $330 and tweed sneakers with gold accents are $540.
Over at various Neiman Marcus stores there are ballet flats in ivory for $225 chain sandals for $315. The markdown for Chanel shoes at Bloomingdale’s is 50% off but they tend to add additional promotional discounts.
We suggest you snatch up what you see right now. These types of markdowns only come around twice a year. You can click here to see what we found at each store.
