The Hermes sale at Americana Manhasset took off without too much of a hitch. Considering last year’s fiasco, one would say this year’s sale was rather uneventful. Sure, there was “can I get you some coffee & sushi and join you in line” scam and the other woman who drove a guard to ask her if she was going to “eat her bag” for sustenance but what would a Hermes sale be without a bit of humor?
The assortments this year didn’t seem as plentiful as prior sales but most shoppers seemed to be satisfied. One thing to always keep in mind is that a good shopper buys things on sale to have them but a stylish shopper buys beautiful things to own them.
Moving on to hassle-free shopping, I’m still finding myself drawn to Fendi’s Vertigo collection. Tessabit has a great assortment at 40% to 50% off. I snagged a few more pieces but am so tempted to go back for another round. There are other great items in the sale section like this Saint Laurent tote that’s $654 from $1090 and Amini Muadi heels (size 6) for $418 from $929.
Farfetch is offering an extra 20% off a selection of past season merchandise. The extra discounts are activated once items are placed in your cart. You can see the full selection of qualifying items right here. Items must be over $145. Below are some of our top picks.
Modes, which is located in Sicily, is hosting a sale where past season merchandise is discounted up to 50% off. As an added bonus you can use the code AUGUSTSALE20 to save an additional 20% off. The best bets are from Balmain and Balenciaga. Below are our favorite finds.

We expect lots of merchandise in the Private sale to begin making its way over to public access. We will continue to update this post as more product becomes available.
Nordstrom is known for having great sales. There are two in particular that can send a city girl shopping in the burbs: The “Half-Yearly Sale” and the “Anniversary Sale.” The Half-Yearly sale is clearance, usually towards the end of the season. (Like, now.) The Anniversary Sale is a presale before the new collection hits the department store floor.
Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale begins Monday at 3am for Nordstrom credit card holders. The sale consists of a catalog of pre-Fall merchandise that is discounted 25% to 40% off. Each department has its own special items that are featured in the pre-Fall sale. You can sift through the catalog options right here.
The presale t is limited to customers who have a Nordstrom credit card. Afterward, on July 28, the sale opens to the general public. Prices return to normal once the sale ends near the end of the month.
“Back-to-school” items and baby gear are especially attractive during this Nordies sale. It’s interesting that more upscale designers have realized that pre-gaming sale season is better than post-season markdowns. Don’t forget to also check out the beauty deals. We are always a sucker for a new shade of lipstick or updated nail polish.
Most of the most popular merchandise sells out before the sale opens to the public. That might be enough incentive to open a card or find a close friend who already has an account. Above are our favorite sales picks. We will be sure to keep this space updated as new items are spotted.
