    Shopbop Friends & Family Now

The Shopbop friends and family is scheduled to begin at 7:30am, on Tuesday. The discount is 25% off  site-wide. We suggest you log on early. The site actually crashed during the last friends and family because of all the traffic.

As with most of these types of promotional sales, some of the most upscale designer brands are excluded.  You can click on the jump to see a full list of exclusions.

In the meantime, we suggest you start your shopping in the 60% off department and work your way back. (Merchandise discounted 70% is final sale, and we tend to avoid online shopping if backsies are not allowed.) Don’t forget, summer is around the corner and are plotting to stack dozens of colorful bracelets up the arm all season long.

Designer discounter, Amuze just launched their Hervé Léger sale where the designer’s feminine and glamours dresses are reduced up to 70% off. The site has some gorgeous Oscar de la Renta and Marni clothing, shoes, bags and accessories reduced 80%.

The site also has daily designer deals where one item is reduced a ridiculous amount. Past daily deals have ranged from Tom Ford shoes to YSL bags and Alexander Mcqueen clutches. Many times, items are reduced 90% off the retail price.

Rebecca Taylor Friends & Family Sale

Rebecca Taylor is hosting a friends and family sale where all merchandise is 25% off. The sale runs through Monday and can be used online with the code RTSPRINGFF14.

One of our favorite pieces in the summer collection is a cap sleeve dress with lace incerts and nail heads. The weekend promotion will save you about $150 off the $600 price tag. If you’re looking for something more affordable, check out the sale section. A leather tee with grommets comes to $292 from $650, a piped cap-sleeve dress is $178 from almost $400 and a blouse with floral sheer inverts is $125 from $275.

Fabergé’s Million Dollar Easter Egg Hunt

New York is a one-of-a-kind type of place. It’s no wonder that us city dwellers are so drawn towards the unique and the rare. Who can forget the colorful Cows that decorated our city in 2000 or The Gates by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, in Central Park, in 2005?

This year, we have been graced with Fabergé’s Big Egg Hunt, which consists of hundreds of individually created eggs by the world’s leading artists, designers and creatives. Participating egg artists include Jeff Koons, Tracey Emin, Zaha Hadid, Marc Quinn, Bruce Weber and Peter Beard. There are also eggs by style icons such as Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Carolina Herrera, Marchesa, Oscar de la Renta and Diane von Furstenberg.

New Yorkers (and visitors) are encouraged to track down the decorative eggs using The Big Egg Hunt app. Participants will all be eligible to win one of three specially designed Fabergé egg pendants, which consist of gold. diamonds and colored stones. Each necklace has a value of more than $46,000. (You can also purchase these pendants at the Fabergé Madison Avenue boutique.)

The best part of this event, however, is that all the artistically designed eggs are being auctioned off through Southeby’s and a corresponding online auction on Paddle8. All proceeds from the egg sales will benefit Elephant Family and Studio in a School.

Right now, the online egg auction is already attracting substantial bids. The Jeff Koons egg is up to $360,000, the Zaha Hadid egg is up to $31,000 and the last Ralph Lauren egg bid was $5000. Do you think the Koons egg will hit $1 million? The artist’s orange balloon dog sold for $58.4 million last year. Considering, $1 million for the egg could be a steal.

We encourage you to watch the auction as many eggs haven’t been big on at all. Starting bids are just $500. This can be a great opportunity to purchase a truly one-of-a-kind New York experience and help others. The auction closes on April 22.

Take note, that all of the eggs will be brought together to display at Rockefeller Center (The Nest) from April 22 to April 25. We are sure that it will be quite a unique experience to see all of the eggs together in once place before they go to their respective homes. (Click on the jump link to see 15 of our favorite egg photos, with NY as the backdrop, of course. Which is your favorite?)

Designer Slipper Chairs at MSK Boutique

Slipper chairs were once used by Victorian ladies while “slipping” on their shoes. Today, these versatile little chairs can be found by fireside, next to a cocktail table, tucked into boudoirs or dressing rooms.

If you’re looking to find that special one-of-a-kind chair or pair-of-chairs for a great price, we suggest you shop the Society Boutique–formerly The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering Thrift Shop. Inside, you will find a variety of designer chairs for great prices and, of course, all proceeds benefit a wonderful organization.

This afternoon, we peaked into the Third Avenue “Society Boutique” to see what styles remained. We found a satin tufted chair with jeweled insets designed by Guy Clark for $1300 from a suggested retail price of $2600, a pair of tweed chairs with a tufted back by Stephen Sills Associates is $1625 for the pair from $3600and an armed chair with a wood frame, designed by Thom Filicia for Sedgwick & Brattle is $1300 from $2600.

We suggest that you stop by this sale soon. The slipper chairs are scheduled skip town on Thursday but we have a hunch that the seats will be there until they are all sold. That means there may be price “flexibility” once the sale formally ends. You can click on the jump to see more of what’s available from the slipper chair sale.

    Rag & Bone Half-Off

Rag & Bone is hosting an online sale were an assortment of merchandise is half-off. It’s hard to tell from what season the sale section is from but there seems to be a deal fitting for almost anyone. There’s even a full range of sale items for men.

Over here, we found a classic Rag & Bone black leather moto jacket that’s now $850 from $1695. These printed silk pants are season-perfect for right now and are priced at $175 from $350 and the coordinating, sheer chiffon, shirt is $145 from $290. Get this, we just styled an awesome new outfit for less than the retail price of the leather jacket. You can consider that, three for less than the price of one!

While browsing the sale collection, take note of the denim section. There is a nice assortment of jeans priced at about $100, which seems rather reasonable these days. Take note, that these sale items are final sale. It’s probably best if you are certain of your Rag & Bone size before ordering.

The IT-it: Nike’s, Not Just for Kicks

We are the last people to put comfort before fashion but– these days– it’s hard to ignore the huge push for designer sneakers. Fancy, designer kicks started reaching to the $1000 mark with versions in the most expensive section of shoe departments.  Styles include studs, blinded, prints, paints and wedges.

Rather than outline the Louboutin, Zanotti and Givenchy versions of fashionable sneakers, we thought we would focus on the design elevation of the classic Nike. After all, if you’re going to be wearing it-sneakers, you’re going to have to know a little bit about the scene.

Most recently, the popular sneaker brand did a collaboration with Riccardo Tisci (creative director of Givenchy). Prices for the designer soles ranged from $240 for basic Air Force 1s to $340 for knee-high versions. A small amount of these must-have sneakers were sold last month and the next release will be available on April 11 on Nike.com.

Perhaps you’re interested in something a bit more feminine? Nike’s latest collab is with Liberty London. The floral print sneakers launched today exclusively on UK company’s website but they do ship to the US. Prices range from 75-pounds for Internationlist Trainers 120-pounds high wedges. Select state-side Nike stores will release the floral print sneakers on May 7. (Just in time for Mother’s Day!)

Those watching the news last week, might remember hearing about the Supreme x Nike Air Foamposite One. The Versace-esque printed sneakers drove a crowed so large that the NYPD needed to cancel the launch on April 3, in Soho. The $240 sneakers were untimely only available online from Supreme but still can be found on eBay for about $1000.

Later this week, sneaker-heads are anticipating the launch of Nike Air Pythons ($160). The all slate-gray sneaker has patches of python, which make it a bit more luxe. This sneaker will be officially available Thursday, April 12. We hear the Dover Street Market (Lexington and 30th Street) is the best place to score is never-before-seen color. They will also be available online here, starting Thursday.

If these Nike’s aren’t good enough for you, you can always wait for Kanye’s next Yeezy/ Adidas launch, in June. Before you even click on the link, let it be known that these sneakers are $5000. If you’re looking to make a fashion statement we can give you at least 5000 alternatives than these sneakers.

Pictures of all the aforementioned Nikes can be found after the jump.
