Intermix Private Sale 15% to 25% Off

We aren’t usually big Intermix shoppers but this season’s selection seems especially attractive. We love all the ruffles, the color schemes and broad price ranges. The under-the-radar sale even makes Intermix shopping even more desirable.

Through April 17 you can save between 15% and 25% depending on how much you buy. The breakdown is below:

    $400 to $999, save 15%
    $1000 to $2500, save 20%
    $2500+, save 25%

The one problem with this sale is the extensive exclusions. It’s not just top designers like Fendi and Valentin,o but Monrow and Self-Portite are also excluded. Among the items that are included in the sale are this Sea eyelet ruffled blouse, a Caroline Constas off-the-shoulder gingham top and Pam & Gela sport pants with stripes.

If you’re looking for even better savings, head to the sale section. We found these Helmut Lang leather pants reduced to $279 from nearly $1000, lace-up sweatpants are $90 from $200 and a Tabula Rasa stripped dress is $160 from $500.

Inside the Loro Piana Sample Sale

The Loro Piana sale started at Soiffer Haskin on Sunday. This sale is notoriously on the pricey side, so we held off attending until additional discounts were announced. Today the prices dropped and now the current discounts range from 50% to 70% off retail.

Loro Piana’s luxurious cashmere tops, sweaters and scarves are placed on isles of huge tables. From the softest knitwears to light–as–a–feather scarves, there were tons of Piana’s classic items in a plethora of gorgeous hues. The discount on sweaters is now 60% off and scarves have been reduced 50%. Many of the silk and cashmere scarves retailed at about $1100 and are now $550. Most sweaters range from about $600 to about $800 and now ring in at about $240 to $320. (Click over this way to see pictures.)

The inventory is really wonderful at this sale and it’s not often that you can find such a selections with discounts this low. If you can’t make it to the sale we found some similar items reduced at Neiman Marcus. For example this cashmere sweater is discounted 70% off online and on another site we spotted this print scarf that’s priced similarly here.

Women’s clothing hanging on racks are discounted 50%. Among the ‘racked’ clothing you’ll find various slacks, shirts and skirts. Coats and outerwear, many with fur accents, are discounted 50%. Considering that we are going into Spring, it’s a bit hard to fork over these larger sums of money. For example, a double faced cashmere jacket is still over $3000 after the discount.

The most discounted items are 70% off and include bags, shoes and fabric bolts. Booties are about $400 from $1350 and men’s ‘roadsters‘ are $270 from $950. Suede cross-body bags are $330 from $1150 and a medium size reversible bag is about $1000 from over $3000.

The sale was extremely quite. There were more employees on the floor than shoppers. We aren’t sure if there will be more discounts before the sale wraps up on Thursday. Cashmere lovers who don’t mind making a fashion investment will be provided with enough options to warm your heart through next Winter.

    Inside the Bandier Sample Sale

Everyone on the SLT-AKT-FLY circuit needs to listen up because styling for your favorite cross-fit class or pilates burn takes a lot more than showing up. A great workout outfit is the best accessory to your toned muscles. Scoring a great look for a discount is even a bigger triumph.

Tonight the Bandier sample sale opened to press and other insiders. The selection includes a large verity of athleisure clothing, workout wear, outerwear, sportswear, sneakers and accessories. The selection is as amazing as you would expect from Bandier but the prices are still a bit of a stretch.

Bottoms, which consist mostly of leggings, are priced in tiers. Most of the most covetable leggings are either $69 or $99, which doesn’t really seem like a great bargain. Ultracore Miami print leggings are $99 from $185. That’s less than 50% off. They are currently only $39 more on the Bandier website and an additional promotion would make the price equal. We also spotted these Koral high rise leggings that are $99 from $158. They are currently only $20 more on the website. This palm print sports bra from Ultracore is $69 from $97, or the same exact price as it is online. (You can see lots of pictures in the jump.)

Moving on to the sneaker selection there is a large selection from Nike, Adidas and APL. The prices are a straight 60% off, which seems even better than the clothing. We spotted black and silver Stella McCartney sneakers for about $75 from $122, APL sneakers with silver and blue are $60 from $150 and Les (Art)ists slip-on sneakers are $112 from $278.

In the back there is a quiet area with a few racks of outerwear. Everything there is a straight 50% off. Among the selection is an bomber jacket from Upside that’s $125 from $256. It’s still full price here. A long cardigan from Monrow is $185 from $370 and a Prabal Gurung moto jacket in a scuba fabric is $150 from $295.

The sale preview drew a nice crowed and we are pretty sure there will be a wait to get into the sale tomorrow. Most shoppers didn’t leave with large hauls but there was still a line that wrapped around the store to check out. We expect that it could be worse tomorrow. We suggest waiting this sale out or just shopping around online. We have lots of pictures of what we found in the jump and have also linked to items priced similarly at other retailers (like Bloomingdales????).

Friendly Days Are Here Again: Milly, Theory, A&O, Bobbi Brown

This week is turning out to be very friendly. We’ve already detailed the friends and family goings on at Bloomingdales and DVF but there are lots of other sales to shop with friends.

Theory, Milly, Helmut Lang, Alice & Olivia and Bobbi Brown are all hosting friends and family sales this weekend. Details for each brand are below:

    Alice & Olivia
Starting today you can save 25% off everything from Alice & Olivia— including sale items. The discount is applied at checkout and no code is necessary. Check out with this leather cropped moto jacket, a rainbow tiered gown and embroidered bell bottoms. The sale ends Sunday, April 2.

    Theory
You can save 25% off Theory by using the code FRIENDS. The sale runs through April 2. Some of our favorite items include this mini-utility skirt, high waisted wide-leg pants , and the newly launched Whitney Bag with a hoop focal point.

    Milly
Use the code MILLYSQUAD to save 20% off your purchase. The best part of the sale is that Milly just got in their newest collection that includes some great items for summer. We love this linen jumpsuit, these denim print crepe pants with a self-tie waist and this abstract print dress.

    Helmut Lang
The promotional discount at Helmut Lang is 25% off. The sale runs through Monday. Use the code FAMILY at checkout. Some highlights of the season include this 90s-style leather jacket, minimalist ostrich slides and relaxed pleated pants.

    Bobbi Brown
You can save 20% off when you shop Bobbi Brown’s friends and family sale online. N The sale starts on Sunday, April 2 and runs through Saturday, April 8th. No code is necessary. Some of the most popular products are the long-wear gel eyeliner, Foundation Stick and the Luxe Lip Color in mauve. After your done shopping, click this way to read a great Q&A in Cosmo with the brand’s namesake. She openly talks about why she left the brand, her future plans and her affection for makeup artists. It’s a great read.

    DVF Friends & Family Sale

Diane von Furstenberg’s friends & family sale is here. You can save 25% off almost all items by using the code “FRIENDS25”.

The promotion runs online and in stores through Monday, April 3. This season, sale merchandise isn’t included in the promotion. It appears as if this sale is becoming increasingly unfriendly to sale shoppers. ????

DVF has had difficult times the past few seasons and this include these white pants with colorful ribbon trim, a multi-print wrap top and a flattering fitted dress. If you’re the type that values sample sale prices over the newest styles, we suggest you use the discount opportunity on sale merchandise.

    Bloomingdales Friends & Family Presale

Pre-sale for the upcoming Bloomingdales friends and family has started. The sale officially begins Friday –March 31– but those in the know can start pre-saling their purchases in the store now. The discount is 25% off fashion and home and 20% off jewelry. Online shoppers will be able to use the code FRIENDS once the sale goes live, next week.

In the past, the exclusions haven’t been too extensive. Designer collections, beauty and fragrance are never included in the promotion. Although the discount can’t be applied to beauty purchases there is usually a gift with purchase incentive.

Bloomingdales can be frustrating to shop. There is never anyone at a register when you need to get out fast. We have really started to love the option of shopping online and using in-store pickup. On product pages you can sort according to “In-Store Pickup” and all your purchases will be pulled and waiting for you at the customer service department on the 3rd floor. Once you get there, you can try everything on and just take the items you like. This service has become so popular that the Lexington Avenue store has extended pickup hours from 6am to midnight.

The friends and family promotion runs through Sunday, April 9 and the discount can also be applied to sale items. This classic Theory dress will come to $370 from $1200, a leather jacket from Maje will also be about $370 from $945 and a very pretty mixed media lace blouse from Elie Tahari is $325 from $620.

    Vestiaire’s Ultimate Spring Closet Detox

We can’t complain too much about the weather this past Winter but we are very excited that it’s officially Spring. Warm weather, open-toe shoes and getting rid of a heavy overcoat is all we need to be happy. (Well, almost.)

As we prepare for the bi-annual wardrobe shift, it’s become apparent that adding a single item to our closets will be nearly impossible. This is the perfect time of year for a Spring closet detox. The experts at the international luxury marketplace, Vestiaire Collective, have everything you need to make this vernal shift.  (You can click here to see the detailed Vestiaire closet detox guide.) It all starts with sorting your closet into three categories:

    Sell:
This category consists of the coveted pieces that doesn’t fit your style, the sky-high heels that are painful to walk in, the impulse buy that really triggered instant buyer’s remorse. These are some of the items you’ve been meaning to get rid of but just haven’t gotten around to yet.

    Keep:
Gather the items that fit and you’re excited to wear again. Organize this pile in your closet so you can see and easily retrieve all key pieces clearly.

    Maybe:
The maxi dress everyone has already seen you wear, the designer jeans that don’t exactly fit, do you know why you’re keeping these pieces? This is the hardest category to mitigate but there is a handy checklist will help you decide if its worth keeping or time to let go. Some questions you can ask yourself include: Having I worn this item in the past 6 months? Does it fit? Would I buy it again?

Once you have that pile together, you can easily download the Vestiaire app and start selling away that pile. It’s really as easy as snapping a picture. The App even has a price resale calculator to help guide your pricing. Our favorite part is that Vestiaire accepts vintage items and a larger variety of brands than other luxury resale sites. Even better, when there is an online promotion, Vestiaire will absorb the discount and your commissions won’t be effected.

Once you have all that extra room in your closet and some extra cash, you can shop guilt free. Some items we are hunting for include, a denim trench, a new moto jacket from either Balenciaga or Off-White and something fantastically Dior to toast my inner princess.
