    Imperio Sale

    By: TJ Kennedy

Just because you haven’t nailed down a tropical summer vacation doesn’t mean you can’t reward yourself with a few exotic souvenirs. Luxury South American line, Imperio jp, is known for their fine Argentine leather products and eclectic home décor products and is hosting a massive showroom sale.

Many leather bags are over 50% off with cross body satchels down to $150 from $450 and several canvas totes that retail for $400 now only $60. Signature hobo style bags are marked down 25%, come in a variety of colors, and have interchangeable handle straps. The smaller, patent leather styles are only $50. Hamptons-worthy leather duffel bags are also 25% off and made to order.

All home décor items are half off with hand woven silk throw pillows in bold colors and prints are now $137 from $275. Larger floor pillows come in pairs and once retailed for $1,200 are marked down to $600. A great two-for-one deal– if you’ve got the space in your apartment for floor pillows.

Clothing is 50% off but the selection was not our favorite part of the sale. Bright colored silk scarves, tops, skirts and jackets were plentiful, but not memorable. Button up blouses were $100 while Batik cotton dresses were $60 and one-of-a-kind silk jackets were marked down to $400. There was also swimwear and beaded jewelry included in the sale that are fun, affordable additions to any summer wardrobe. A $15 bikini? We’ll take two.

Word has certainly not gotten out yet about this sale and there is still plenty of merchandise; they are ready to get things moving so don’t be shy about making reasonable offers. We suggest sticking with the soft, durable leather bags, which seem to be their trademark. Save the rest for that exotic getaway you’ve been craving.

    Muji Sale

If American Apparel and Bed, Bath, & Beyond had a baby, it would be Muji. The Japanese retail store has everything under the sun: from candles and containers to kitchenware and clothing. Right now, the entire spring/summer collection is 30% off and almost everything in the store is included. Tanks and tees are only $15, while jeans are $60 and lightweight knit sweaters are only $49. There is a ton of merchandise left in a variety of sizes and neutral hues. Essential sun hats in several styles are discounted to $45 while select canvas tote bags are $30 and small luggage pieces are marked down to $129.

Men’s clothing selections are also plentiful and both men and women’s spring trench coats are $150. Linen pants are $59 and button ups are $49. Not that we are suggesting an entire linen ensemble, but it’s nice to have options. Collared t-shirts are down to $28 and khaki shorts are $64. At prices like these, why not pick up a few staple pieces for him?

Some of the higher discounted items in the store include cotton bed sheets and soft duvet covers all in varying shades of beige, which are 50% off. A pair of sheets run for about $50 to $70 depending on size. With so little time in a day, Muji’s one-stop-shop style makes it easy to pick up all your wardrobe and household necessities in one place.

    Second Markdown Time at Saks

Saks has started their second markdown on summer merchandise. Prices are now up to 75% off. Clothing, shoes and bags are included in the new markdown

We browsed the online store and found an Alexander Wang mini dress for $186 from $445, a Gucci trench for $1529 from $3400 and a Valentino blouse for $400 from $890.

Over in accessory and shoe land we found lots of great items. The discount at Saks greatly rivals that of Prada boutiques and there’s also a great assortment, including those striped elastic sandals that are now $311 from $595. In addition, Alexander McQueen skull flat sandals are $311 from $395 and a Maison Martin Margiela bowler is $755 from $1440.

True bargain shoppers may want to hold out just a bit more. There’s still the markdown that goes to 75% and then consolidation.

    Alexis Bittar First Markdown

Alexis Bittar has started his first markdown on the summer jewelry collection. The discount is 30% off but there’s usually a markdown of 50% later in the season. In addition to the Madison boutique, shoppers can browse the deals at the online store.

Right now you you can find a modernist gold link necklace for $276 from $395, A signature large hinge bracelet for $298 from $425 and small hoop earrings are $123 from $175.

Even if you live close to a boutique, we suggest familiarizing yourself with the collection online. The store’s sales associates usually seem more concerned in organizing papers at the register than assisting customers in sorting through the vast amount of merchandise to find the most suitable style.

    Alizé Mix Squad Launch Party

Beyoncé was certainly on to something when she said that girls run the world. The latest realm to be taken over by an all female force: DJs. Last night, Adrienne Bailon hosted a launch party at the Rivington Hotel for the Alizé Mix Squad, the first all female DJ crew headed by the notorious duo, Nina Sky. The party was glittered with socialites, musicians, and NBA players as the girls took turns spinning in the DJ booth.

Specialty cocktails were served blended with the liqueur of the night, Alizé, a premium passion fruit based drink from France that has deep roots in the music industry. The Mix Squad girls are brand ambassadors and consists of DJ Dimepiece, DJ Eque, DJ Kiss, DJ Niena Drake, DJ Rashida, and Jessica Who?. These DJs have come together from all over the country to form an empowered female music crew as well as, let’s face it, run the world.

    Buccellati Sale

    By ManhattanMataHari

While exhibiting at Madrid’s 1920 Exposition, it is said that Mario Buccellati hurled an expensive compact out a window when a woman asked for a discount, shouting, “I am not a tradesman!” We wonder how Mario would feel about this week’s Buccellati sale being hosted by Soiffer Haskin at the jeweler’s 57th Street boutique.

Generations of jewelry shoppers love Buccellati for their detailing and one-of-a-kind pieces. The company only produces about 3,000 pieces of jewelry per year, about 500 of which are one-of-a-kind pieces. As a fan we couldn’t resist scounting the discounts, which are up to 50% off retail.

The sale started today and we couldn’t resist taking a look. The handcrafted fine jewels and watches are all 40% off retail and silver servingware and home accents are 50% off. Despite the lofty prices, fans of the jeweler can appreciate how seldom this brand goes on sale. Even resale prices hold up wonderfully.

We found a sizable selection of jewelry, brooches, cuff links and jeweled watches. The pricing varies based upon the metal, but the majority of the sale jewelry is 18K yellow or white gold. There are a wide range of prices. We spotted a brooch retailing for $2500 and a lovely woven yellow gold necklace for $16,000 retail.

Shoppers will also find a wide selection of Buccellati’s signature flower blossom necklaces. A version in sterling silver ranges from $1200 to $1900 and is significantly more affordable after the 40% markdown. If you are looking for a one-of-a-kind watch, we suggest checking out this sale before it ends on Friday. There are a number of lively colored crocodile strap watches with intricate faces. Prices start around $16,000 and go up to $80,000 for an engraved white gold pocket-watches.

Upstairs, you’ll find finely crafted silver for the home. There are a variety of silver trays starting at $10,995. A large Torchon silver tray retails for $44,200. In addition, a selection of silver candlesticks ranges from $16,500 to $31,000 for singles and pairs.

    Obaibi Summer Sale

There is no denying that shopping can be an addiction but shopping for a tot can cause you to really lose control. There’s something about miniature sized anything that is completely irresistible.

One Madison Avenue store that fuels our shopping obsession is Obaibi. The fashion forward French children’s store specializes in clothing for babies and toddlers from newborn to five-years-old. What’s even better is that the boutique is having a super sale where their summer collection is discounted up to 50% off.

An adorable embroidered dress is $21 from $35 and a coordinating three-button cardigan is $14 from $28. A little boy’s zipped hoodie is $15.75 from $31.50 and the coordinating polo shirt is $13.50 from $22.50. See– affordable and adorable!

    Valentino on Sale

We are still making our way through the best sales on Madison Avenue. Today we stopped at Valentino to check out the markdown and selection.

The discount is a straight 40% off across all spring merchandise. That includes shoes and handbags too. If you’re looking to be a step ahead of the trend, go for the studded ballet flats. These classic style shoes can easily be worn into fall and are $297 from $495. As for bags, we especially like this studded style, which is $1100 from $1845.

When it comes to clothing, we prefer to stay away from anything too trendy. Valentino always has the most beautifully detailed clothing. Take this white ruffled cocktail dress that’s $1314 from $2190. It’s perfect for a luncheon or an evening party.

Unfortunately, our favorite Valentino item is not being sold in the boutiques. A nude color ballet flat is perfect for a spring day and is so light that it feels as if you’re walking barefoot. Right now, this shoe is 30% off at Chuckies and but we are going to wait for a second markdown before taking the plunge.
