    European Showroom Sale, for Kids!

    C&C Childrenswear, which carries popular brands like ADD Down, Aletta, Eddie Pen, Loredana, Imps & Elfs, andVal & Max, is hosting a sale where prices will be under wholesale. The sale begins Monday and runs all week.

    Shoppers will find a variety of merchandise including winter 2012 samples (if you can think that far ahead) and summer 2012 stock. Shoppers will find something for everyone in the family, stating at newborn and going through teens. We even spotted coordinating Eddie Pen separates that are perfect for adults.

    At the last sale, we took home a haul that included, a Val & Max dress $40 (retail over $300), an ADD Down jacket for $125 (retail $288), pajama sets for $27 (retail $90) and a baby Imps & Elfs baby set was $35 from a retail price of about $80. The sale runs all week but there is no restocking. We suggest trying to attend Monday or Tuesday for the best selection.

    The It-it: Hermes Passe-Guide

    The Hermes Passe-Guide was designed by Henry d’Origny and introduced in 1975. This striking bag hasn’t been seen in a retail store in many decades but is being reissued into the Hermes family this Spring.

    The Passe-Guide is named for its clasp, which is modeled from the ring at the front of Roman chariots that kept the reins of the carriage in place. The heavy side hardware distinguishes this bag from most other Hermes bags. We love the smooth “Box” skin that give the bag a vintage. We like to think of the style as modern-vintage.

    Before you dedicate your heart to this bag, be forwarned that it’s not easy to obtain and spotting it on the shoulder of another women is about as heartwrenching as catching your husband kissing another woman.

    There’s nothing like a good e-commerce launch to spark up a good discount. Can’t say we were disappointed to hear about 3.1 Philip Lim’s new online store.

    Lederer’s Moving Sale

    While many people find designer “inspired” accessories to be tacky, it is indeed possible to make such a purchase and get great quality and value. Personally, we would never support Canal Street knockoffs because of poor quality and questionable manufacturing practices overseas, but Lederer de Paris carries a variety of bags that are handmade with high quality leather.

    With retail prices for these loosely inspired bags normally range from $900 to $800. For prices as high as those we would normally save our money for the real deal. However, for the next couple weeks Lederer is hosting a moving sale where everything in the store is 20% to 70% off. A salesperson insisted that she didn’t know where the store is moving but that seems quite odd.

    Stepping into the store you will immediately see the designer inspired Birkens, 2.55 classics, and intrecciato designs reminiscent of Hermes, Chanel, and Bottega Veneta. Some of these designs are marked down between $299 and $499. Naturally, the Birken-esque bags are still around $600. We generally aren’t fans of wannabes but $99 patent and leather woven intrecciato clutches are just too cute to pass up.

    While we would pass on most of the handbags, definitely browse Lederer’s selection of small leather goods and accessories which are also 20% to 50% off. The quality is fantastic and there is a plentiful selection in a variety of styles and skins. The lovely $99 smooth leather gloves with metal details à la Hermes are absolutely a must-have for fall.

    Jimmy Choo Sample Sale

    It’s only mid-April but news-worthy sample sales are already scheduled. Today, Racked reports that the Jimmy Choo sample sale is returning to the Metropolitan Pavilion after a three year hiatus. This sale may be newsworthy for the discounts but the long line is what really makes headlines.

    Lines for the Jimmy Choo sample sale win for longest and most tedious in all of fashion. The line, not only spans the full Avenue of West 18th Street but also wraps up 7th Avenue and along West 19th Street.

    Okay, lets talk prices. At the last Choo sale, which took place in 2009, a pair of heels were $250, two pair were $450 and three were $600. Sounds fantastic, right? Think again. We calculate that to be between 65% and 75% off retail. The Jimmy Choo boutique end-of-season discount is 65% off. Some department store markdowns are even more. You do the math: Three hour line-vs-10% savings…

    Obviously, we believe it’s better to spend the extra 10% and avoid this type of shopping experience, or agony! Alternatively, you can try to get yourself on the press/VIP list that gets you Thursday morning access.

    DVF x Gap 30% Off

    It’s not often that we get swept up with fashion hype. When it came to DVF/Gap collection, however, we admit that we may have taken the bate. Granted, our entire local store was wiped clean of merchandise and the sales people at the Fifth Avenue Gap location insisted that the stock would not be replenished.

    Fast forward three weeks and the DVF/Gap collaboration is now discounted 30% off. There is still a lot of merchandise online and stores seem to have sufficient stock along with a steady stream of returns. Our advice is to go for the price adjustment. That $80 blazer is so much cuter when it only cost you $56!

    Ralph Lauren 25% Off

    We had a hunch that Ralph Lauren was tres cool in Paris but we had no idea just how much the brand had blown up internationally. Who would have known that a grand pony polo was hotter than anything Lanvin?

    We are told that those big pony polos on Boulevard St Germain are 150-euro, which is about $200. On Madison Avenue those same polos are “just” $98 and through April 6th you can save 25% on your polo and most everything else at Ralph Lauren.

    The “Shop in Style” discount benefits cancer prevention and research through the Pink Pony Fund. The discount is available in stores and online with the code RLGIVE2012. Now you can look as as hot as the coolest Parisian and have money left over to put towards your flight.

    Botticelli Boot Sale

    Botticelli is well known for their luxurious Italian leathers and fine craftsmanship. The store has been a Fifth Avenue icon since opening 1968. Right now, the boutique is hosting a markdown that might have you thinking twice before liberating your toes into sandal season.

    The Italian boutique is hosting a boot sale were versions in suede, smooth leather and even over-the-knee styles are plentiful. Discounts range from 30% to 60% off with most retail prices start at about $800. We found the majority of the heeled riding boots to be the under the $300 price range. Be sure to check out the selection of booties as well, with our favorite picks being the tri-colored suede Oxfords for $338.
