Chanel Bags and Jewelry on Sale

Last week, we posted about the widely anticipated Chanel markdowns. This week we bring you a full selection of bags that and jewelry that are currently 30% off at department stores. The selection below was curated from Bloomingdales, Saks 5th Avenue and Bergodof Goodman. We  have also been told that Neiman Marcus has a large assortment of Chanel bags on markdown.

Don’t be too shy to call around if your local department store doesn’t have the item you desire. We always suggest starting with less popular department stores. Personally, we’ve always had good luck shopping remotely with the Saks and Neiman Marcus at the Galleria in Houston, TX, the Saks in Desert Palm, CA and the Neiman Marcus in Scottsdale, AZ.

Don’t let anyone tell you that Chanel bags don’t go on sale. We have proof. Happy Saleing!

    Christian Louboutin Insider Sale

    By ManhattanMataHari

Missed out on the Christian Louboutin sample sale this season? Fret not, the Madison Avenue boutique will be having their own sale just in time for the holidays. The discount is a solid 40%, which is a larger discount than most of the department stores. Expect to find an assortment of handbags and fashion shoes (no classic colors or styles) from the Fall/Winter 2012 collection.

For their past sales, Louboutin required an email RSVP, but it appears they have finally scrapped the practice. Instead of successive days, they have elected to have two “Sale Sundays” on December 16th and December 23rd. If the past is any indication, there will be a long line to get into the boutique and it will be busy. We suggest you avoid this by stopping by the store this week to pre-sale your red-soled wish list since they will not be restocking.

Unfortunately, sales associates were unable to provide details on exactly what will be included, but naturally our spies got the inside info. Our intel suggests there will be some tall boots and popular Daffodils in fashion styles like leopard, rainbow, satin, crepe and pony. While you will be able to find some of the stacked front platforms marked down, the celeb-beloved Highness styles will not be included since they are considered classics. Also not included? Anything with studs, the Strass crystallized heels and this seasons must-have smoking slippers. If you are coveting a specific style, we suggest calling ahead to see if it is included prior to making the trip.

    Charlotte Olympia Half-Off

Madison Avenue newcomer, Charlotte Olympia is hosting a sale where fall and winter shoes are 50% off. The markdown started last week but there are still lots of styles and sizes from which to choose.

The British designer, which is known for uber stacked platform shoes, has only started to gain traction in the United States. Brand fans will thrilled to snag bold floral shoes for about $640 from $1200, Dance with Me Dolly pumps with musical notes on the platform are $486 from $970 and knee-high boots with a bold gold platfrom are about $600 from $1200.

We suggest jumping into a pair of these double decker high shoes before they become as cliche as a pair of shoes with red soles. As one famous housewife says, “The higher the heel, the closer to G-d.” Lets hope that G-d hears our prayers for more high heel shoes!

    DVF Sample Sale Details

Few sample sales are more fun than the Diane von Furstenberg sale. That is, unless you show up at the wrong time. Today we hit twice and it was a tale of two cities.

Our first visit was early, during the press preview. The sale’s atmosphere was relaxed and the crowd was limited. Merchandise was still coming in and our favorite $50 sample rack had not even arrived.

Later in the day we were greeted with a double line of shoppers waiting to get in. Once inside, dresses were flying, hangers were catching and women were crowding. It was not the ideal shopping situation. The line for the dressing room was over an hour. On the bright side, the sample sale rack was well stocked and ripe with great finds.

As one can imagine, over the course of several years we have created a huge personal inventory of DVF clothing. Recently, however, we have been attracted to the brand’s bags and accessories. The bags specifically are designed to please even the biggest Celine/Hermes snob but have the added attraction of an affordable price. If you’re looking to pick up a gift for a hard to please fashion girl this is absulity the place to go. Prices are below.

    Wraps and Vintage $250
    Dresses $125
    Cover Ups $100
    Skirts $80
    Blouses $80
    Samples $50
    Scarves $70

    Beach totes $60
    Clutches $100

    Coming Soon: Chanel Bag Markdown

Most designers and boutiques started their first markdown right before Thanksgiving but Chanel and Louboutin always like to make a fashionably late entrance into sale season. Starting Wednesday, department stores and boutiques will be able to offer discounts on both tony brands.

Shoppers can expect to save up to 40% off on seasonal styles of Louboutin shoes and bags and Chanel clothing, shoes, jewelry and bags. Yes, you heard right. We spoke to several Chanel experts who confirmed that select bag styles will be included in this season’s markdowns.

We must point out that classic style bags will most definitely not be included in the markdown. Expect to find more seasonal styles, colors and textures. You can  click here to see a catalogue of shoes that are expected to be in the markdown. We will post bag pictures once more concrete information is available.  Below is an overview of the bag markdown situation at several stores in our area:

Bloomingdales: We saw several nylon cocoon style bags that are expected to be included int he markdown.

Saks Fifth Avenue: The store will be casting forward several styles that have been tucked away in the stock room for several seasons.

Bergdorf Goodman: A Chanel bag specialist at Bergdorf Goodman could not confirm exactly which bags will be included but says that the inventory will be much larger than usual. This is absolutely the place to if you’re serious about getting a Chanel bag for a discount.

Chanel 57th Street: Sale? What’s sale? How do you spell that?
