    Orrefors/ Kosta Boda Moving Sale

    Orrefors and Kosta Boda are hosting a sample sale where floor samples, from their showroom, will be discounted up to 70% off. This sale is poised to be even better than normal because the brands are moving showrooms. You can expect to find selection of gift items, ornaments, hand blown vases, bowls, vases and drink ware.

    This is a great opportunity to stock up on hostess gifts or bridal presents. Crystal votives and candleholders are priced $5.20 to $67.50 (originally $17.50 to $225), glass bowls, vases and sculptures are $15 to $600 (originally $50 to $2000) and crystal bowls, vases and drinkware are $10 to $300 (originally $50 to $1000).

    The IT-it: Frame Denim

    Just when everyone is saying that the denim market is dead, there comes along a new brand to excite jean lovers. For the past several months we’ve been hearing about Frame Denim. It’s the designer on everyone’s lips (and hips). Miranda Kerr, Karlie Kloss, Heidi Klum are all Frame devotees and you know that if they look good in them– so will you??!!

    J. Crew Offers 25% Off

    It’s still early in the season to find great sales but that doesn’t mean you can’t take care of shopping promotions. After all, 25% off something you really want to own is better than 50% off what you don’t need. Right?

    Sometimes we find that J. Crew can be hard to shop but some items are absolute wardrobe staples. For example, Pixie pants are a must-have for a girl (or woman) of any age. They are universally flattering and are perfect to wear with everything from this season’s oxfords to knee-high riding boots. A shiny puffer vest or jacket is perfect for pumpkin picking season. Suede ankle boots are perfect for the first day of fall and Elsie pumps are dead ringers for Manolos or Jimmy Choos but cost a lot less.

    Madison Avenue J. Crew shoppers should be sure to “remind” their sales person about the discount when checking out. We find that J. Crew employees often “forget” to apply the discount.

    No Hermès Sale This Season

    You no longer need to worry if you haven’t received your VIP invitation to the Hermès sample sale. It’s not happening.

    Sources close to the company tell us that Hermès prefers to liquidate past season merchandise within select boutiques. Since most of the past merchandise is gobbled up during the markdown, there isn’t enough inventory to host a compelling sample sale.

    Very few stores ever host sales. Annual markdowns can be found at the Wall Street Hermès and the Hermès in Bergen County, NJ. Take note, leather goods are never on sale and they couldn’t have been found at the sample sale either.

    Although, Hermès decided to abstain from a sample sale this season we wouldn’t be surprised if one is scheduled before Spring. Those looking for their golden VIP invites should make a concerted effort to stay close to your Hermès sales person over the course of the year. (Read: buy more.)
