Ralph Lauren Friends & Family 30% Off

Ralph Lauren started a friends & family sale today that will run through Thursday, March 23. The markdown is 30% and includes regular and sale priced merchandise. The promotion is only online and you will need to use the code FRIENDS to engage the discount.

Take note, that the discount is not applicable to the Ralph Lauren’s higher end brands like, Purple Label and the Collection. Among the items that you can apply the savings are these leather leggings that come to about $700 from nearly $1000, a two-tone leather jacket that’s already discounted 50% and after the promotional discount comes to $525 from $1500 and a big pony polo that is $27 from $115.

We often having the best luck using this type of sale to restock men’s basics and start getting the kids ready for camp. Here are classic polo’s for guys, in a variety of colors, that come to just $20 from $90 and this big pony style polo is $25 from $110. For boys, here are classic belted shorts for $25, joggers for $18 and $8 tees. For girls’, there are a lot of preppy dress but we really love these gold cowboy boots that come to about $50 from nearly $200.

Considering these prices, it’s hard to even justify shopping for Ralph Lauren at a discount store. We just wish they would be a little more transparent about the difference between each line. It’s very confusing to even the savviest customer.

    Net-A-Porter Secret Discount Code

It’s cold and wet outside, Bergdorf Goodman is closed but we have the perfect snow day activity. Net-A-Porter just gave their top customers a secret code, which can save you 10% on almost everything on the site. Just use the code SPRING when checking out. The best part is that there are hardly any restrictions!

Speaking of Spring, as the snow melts we are optimistically looking forward to some new trends. One set of items that are on our must-have list are floral sandals. Some of our favorites include these Fendi slides with floral appliqué details ($900), Prada sandals with flower appliqués ($990) and these cactus heels ($480) from the Man Repeller collaboration.  We also really like these Sam Edelman floral print bright orange slides ($100).

The easiest way to build a seasonal wardrobe is to concentrate on a color. Pink has been going strong since last year and we wouldn’t hesitate adding more to your collection. This pink grecian Norma Kamali off-the-shoulder jersey dress ($185) easily transitions from city streets to poolside or beach. We also love this Miu Miu pink blouse ($895) that has a bit of Western detailing. Give your next business presentation in this Haider Ackermann satin deep pink suit ($1400 for the blazer). It’s killer. A Rachel Zoe suit is a less expensive option but– is the color a little bubblegum?

We are sure you’ll have no problem finding your own favorites for Spring. This 10% discount code is only valid until March 20. Although the discount isn’t super high, we will accept it as gift. After all, the next big markdown isn’t until the end of May.

Spring Denim Trends: From Patchwork Denim to Acid Wash

Good jeans are invaluable. The funny thing is that good jeans never seem to stay good for more than a year. The speed at which denim trends change is incredible and keeping up can be daunting.

We would never endorse buying jeans at full price but have come to accept that anything under $200 is a good price — especially if you will wear them several times a week. The transitional season is a good time to start shopping for the denim styles you want while your size is still in stock. We suggest adding your favorite style to the cart and waiting for a good friends & family sale. Bloomingdales’ friends & family sale is usually at the end of March and ShopBop runs a big site-wide discount promotion in early April.

    Patchwork Blue
One of the biggest trends for Spring is the multi-tonal jean. A patchwork of different color blues making a big splash. Since they aren’t ripped, the look isn’t as messy as many distressed denim styles but the look is still very casual and relaxed. Some of our favorite styles are below.

    Wide-leg Crop
The flared cropped jean isn’t all new but this season that flare is growing to a wide-leg. We especially like the versions with a wide dark hem. This style jean looks best with a stylish shoe (like a Gucci slide) or a pointed boot that clear the hem. Check out these styles:

    Colored Jeans
It seems like colored denim goes from being hot one season to cheesy the next. This season–you got it– it’s hot. Blush in particular happens to be the color de jour.

    Super bleached
Acid wash will always be a nostalgic look from the 80s and 90s but super bleached is just about as classic. Why not pull out a vintage heavy metal tee and a just-don’t-care attitude? We just suggest staying away from the acid washed blond hair. That’s a look we don’t need to resurrect.

First Class Upgrade: Tumi 19 Degree Suitcase 20% Off

The fashion industry has suddenly put a lot of emphasis is put on travel outfits. We believe that traveling with the right luggage is a lot more important than choosing the right fedora.

Tumi’s new 19-Degree collection is truly a showstopper. 19 Degree is Tumi’s first aluminum offering and is clearly designed to go head-to-head with Ramowa. The distinctive contoured lines, highlight the profile of the suitcase and give it sense of fluidity. The final look is fashion, art and design. It is a sure upgrade to most anything else on the market.

The best part is that everything Tumi is 20% off at Saks Fifth Avenue. Color options include silver, black, matte black, copper and Glacier, which is a steele blue. Normally the bags range in price from $600 for a carry-on to $1395 for an extended-trip size in aluminum. The discount brings the prices to $475 for the carry-on to $1116 for the biggest size in aluminum. Take note, that the aluminum is priced almost twice as high as the polycarbonate.

Like most women, we aren’t light packets and suggest getting the ‘Extended Packing Trip‘ and a ‘Short Packing Trip‘ size. This combination gives you lots of options– you can take both bags or only one. On bigger trips we suggest taking both to make sure your big bag doesn’t go over weight. It’s always nice to have a second back to redistribute your belongings.

So now, where should we go???

    The OutNet Blowout 85% Off

Twice a year, The Outnet cleans out it’s designer closet with blowout prices. Surprise! The sale started today and there are so many amazing deals at 85% off that we don’t know what to choose.

Where do we start? Here is a Cucinelli coat reduced to $840 from $5500, a Chloe tweed coat for $430 from $2900 an alpaca trimmed coat from Dorrinton that’s $600 from $4000 and a Proenza white leather biker jacket with black zippers is $400 from $2650. Clearly this mild winter was problematic for coat sales. Next year, we might not be so lucky.

There are so many shoes that it’s best just to sort by your size. If you’re a size 9 go for these Lanvin suede boots for $270 from $1350, berry Casadi suede pumps for $123 or Prada flats for $385. Need sneakers? These Nike’s are $23 from $130. We also noticed a large assortment of Christian Louboutin shoes that aren’t in the clearance sale but they are reduced 40% to 50% off.

We’ve always been very impressed by the quality and styling of The Outnet’s in-house label, Iris & Ink. The sale makes these classic wardrobe basics nearly irresistible. Take these high-rise denim jeans that are now priced at $62 from $155. The original price was reasonable enough but stylish jeans for $63 is remarkable. Here is a cashmere sweater for $82. (We have one already and love it.) This muted pink gilet for $180 can be great for Spring. Black ankle boots for $122 or suede over-the-knee boots for $160 are a no-brainer…you get the point.

There is an abundance of designer frocks listed in the clearance section. Some of our favorites include, a Roksanda a-line skirt that’s $270 from $1345, an embellished Pucci dress is $360 from $2400 and this Roland Mouret mini-dress is a must-have for $225 from $1500.

There aren’t many great bags in the sale but here is a  fascia Saint Laurent Boston-type bag for 50% off or go for an Anya Hindmarch ‘Hubba Bubba‘ clutch for 80% off.

This is one of those sales that serves as proof that it doesn’t necessarily need to cost a fortune to look fantastically chic. We suggest you hurry and shop. As we are writing the post, the site was getting increasingly slow, which means it’s inundated with shoppers.

Neiman Marcus: Extra 20% Off Clearance

Neiman Marcus started an online promotion where many sale items are reduced an extra 20% off. The big treat is that the online clearance section is filled with great designer items that could be perfect for Spring.

Upon browsing, we found a Marni blouse that’s about 80% off now and perfectly on trend with ruffles along the trim. Here’s a Victoria Beckham bustier top that’s also 80% off and comes to $285 from $1430 and these designer track pants with orange and white racing strips are an excellent find for just $233 from $1170. They are just too good to resist.

The discount among the shoes isn’t quite as high but it still makes sense to cherry pick among the Spring and Summer styles. A white Gianvito Rossi d’Orsay pump is $330 from $830, Aquazzura’s iconic rainbow striped suede sandals are $277 from about $700 and these Aquazzura suede candies-like sandals are $340 from $850.

The promotion started today and only runs through Thursday. Neiman Marcus doesn’t do these extra 20% off sales too often. We suggest you take advantage while the opportunity presents itself. It’s quite the treat to shop for the upcoming season from a selection discounted merchandise that’s this good.
