The promotion runs online and in stores through Monday, April 3. This season, sale merchandise isn’t included in the promotion. It appears as if this sale is becoming increasingly unfriendly to sale shoppers. ????
Pre-sale for the upcoming Bloomingdales friends and family has started. The sale officially begins Friday –March 31– but those in the know can start pre-saling their purchases in the store now. The discount is 25% off fashion and home and 20% off jewelry. Online shoppers will be able to use the code FRIENDS once the sale goes live, next week.
In the past, the exclusions haven’t been too extensive. Designer collections, beauty and fragrance are never included in the promotion. Although the discount can’t be applied to beauty purchases there is usually a gift with purchase incentive.
Bloomingdales can be frustrating to shop. There is never anyone at a register when you need to get out fast. We have really started to love the option of shopping online and using in-store pickup. On product pages you can sort according to “In-Store Pickup” and all your purchases will be pulled and waiting for you at the customer service department on the 3rd floor. Once you get there, you can try everything on and just take the items you like. This service has become so popular that the Lexington Avenue store has extended pickup hours from 6am to midnight.
We can’t complain too much about the weather this past Winter but we are very excited that it’s officially Spring. Warm weather, open-toe shoes and getting rid of a heavy overcoat is all we need to be happy. (Well, almost.)
As we prepare for the bi-annual wardrobe shift, it’s become apparent that adding a single item to our closets will be nearly impossible. This is the perfect time of year for a Spring closet detox. The experts at the international luxury marketplace, Vestiaire Collective, have everything you need to make this vernal shift. (You can click here to see the detailed Vestiaire closet detox guide.) It all starts with sorting your closet into three categories:
Sell:
This category consists of the coveted pieces that doesn’t fit your style, the sky-high heels that are painful to walk in, the impulse buy that really triggered instant buyer’s remorse. These are some of the items you’ve been meaning to get rid of but just haven’t gotten around to yet.
Keep:
Gather the items that fit and you’re excited to wear again. Organize this pile in your closet so you can see and easily retrieve all key pieces clearly.
Maybe:
The maxi dress everyone has already seen you wear, the designer jeans that don’t exactly fit, do you know why you’re keeping these pieces? This is the hardest category to mitigate but there is a handy checklist will help you decide if its worth keeping or time to let go. Some questions you can ask yourself include: Having I worn this item in the past 6 months? Does it fit? Would I buy it again?
Once you have that pile together, you can easily download the Vestiaire app and start selling away that pile. It’s really as easy as snapping a picture. The App even has a price resale calculator to help guide your pricing. Our favorite part is that Vestiaire accepts vintage items and a larger variety of brands than other luxury resale sites. Even better, when there is an online promotion, Vestiaire will absorb the discount and your commissions won’t be effected.
Once you have all that extra room in your closet and some extra cash, you can shop guilt free. Some items we are hunting for include, a denim trench, a new moto jacket from either Balenciaga or Off-White and something fantastically Dior to toast my inner princess.
A great fashion purchase can be uplifting but the right manicure can have similar powers. LeChat’s Perfect Match Mood Gel Polish is quite literally is a mood changer.
This high-tech thermo sensitive polish transforms color according to temperature. One moment your nails can be teal blue and the next, a light lavender. The transition from one color to the other is the most intriguing. The ombre effect during the color change is as delightful. It’s hard to keep yourself from checking and the activity is quite amusing.
LeChat’s Perfect Match Mood Polish comes in 60 colors, including Crimson Nightfall that changes from red to black, Sunset Beach that changes from orange to a misty-rose and, our favorite, Trissie that goes from a deep violet to a light lavender. The gel polishes can be found on Amazon and ranges in price from $13 to $15 a bottle, depending on the seller.
If you’re not someone who likes to commit to a gels, LeChat also offers standard color changing polish ($10). The colors are nearly identical to the gel options.
Its hard to understate how much we’ve loved wearing this polish. You can bet it’s going to be a major part of our Summer rotation. A special shout-out to Elvira for sharing your secret manicure ????.
The Saks Fifth Avenue friends and family sale doesn’t start for about a week but all good customers know that the best merchandise is snatched up during the presale period. The sale officially runs from Wednesday, March 21 through Sunday, April 2.
This season, the discount will be 25% off a selection of clothing, shoes and accessories. Jewelry will be discounted 20%. Instead of listing hundreds of designer exclusions and creating a special code, Saks essentially created a friends and family sale section on the website.
It’s much harder to speculate about what designer fashions might be included in the sale. It’s safe to suspect that most contemporary brands will be participating. We are hoping that some of the new emerging street wear brands, like Off-White, will be included in the promotion.
If you’re a point collector, you should take note that designers not included in the sale will be eligible for triple points. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the friends and family inclusions are plentiful. For now, stay tuned for this evolving story.
What better way to tick off the new season than to take advantage of sample sale that doesn’t require you to move an inch. Tibi is hosting its first online sample sale where prices are discounted up to 80% off.
This sale is for only a few days and ends Thursday at midnight. We are a little disappointed there aren’t more of Tibi’s signature dresses but at least there aren’t any traditional sample sale lines.
Barneys removed the link to their seasonal markdown several weeks ago but some sly searching proves that the sale merchandise is still available for purchase online. Some items are discounted as much as 75% off. You can use this link to see for yourself.
European online luxury store, Forzieri is hosting a warehouse sale where many items are reduced 70% off. The sale includes an assortment of shoes, accessories and home decor items for men and women.
You can save an additional 15% if you’re a new Forzieri customer (or if you register your purchase with a new email address). If you’re shopping for Spring, the full price collection are 20% off. This warehouse sale runs through March 31 but you can imagine that the best items will go quickly. What else is new?
