    Private Lanvin Sale: 90% Off

Some sales are so wonderful that it’s hard to post about them. The current Lanvin sale is one of these sales. The (loosely) invite-only sale started on Monday and offers a great assortment of clothing, shoes, jewelry, bags and accessories for men, women and a tiny rack of kid’s.

All dresses– long and short– are discounted 90%. All other men’s and woman’s merchandise is 80% off retail. Most of the clothing is from 2016 and 2015. We did see some Albert Elbaz throwbacks, which of course, are the nicest. (We snatched a few pictures over here.)

We spotted this metallic lace blouse that was about $400 from $2000 the dress version was even nicer and came to just $385 from $3855, this multi cover silk top that was under $300, this ruffled dress tat comes to about $200 and this ruffled blouse in blue dress is under $300 too. (Over here it’s 70% off, which isn’t bad either.) There was this crepe dress in black, which fits like a glove and is only $170 from $1740.

Shoes are divided by size under the racks of clothing. Most shoes were in the $250 range from $1200. There were some ballet flats but not many in each size. We spotted these heels that are about $220 from $1100. You can see pictures of other bags at the sale right here. Jewelry can be found on a long table. Among the baubles, we spotted a lot of items like this necklace. Prices were about $200 to $500 from $1000 from $2500.

The sale has some bags but we aren’t fans of the current collection. We spotted this hot pink cross body that’s about $300 from $1500. There are also several Jiji styles in various colors, like this stripped version for about $420. (We have pictures over here.)

Men can also make it out big at this sale. We didn’t go through the merchandise closely but an entire half of the showroom is devoted to men’s items. There are also men’s shoes, bow-ties, lapel pins and cufflinks.

This sale is always very civilized and orderly. There is a guard at the door taking names. Sometimes they check the list, sometimes they don’t. If the sale becomes too crowded, we are sure the door policy will become more strict. If you do get in, be kind and make sure to share the one tiny dressing area mirror. It’s a tight squeeze!

    StyleBop Discounts Hit 80% Off

StyleBop will be offering a deal that might be hard to refuse. Starting Tuesday, a selection of sale merchandise that is already discounted 70% off will be an extra 20% off. The special promotion runs through Sunday and the total savings are upwards of 80% on some items.

We were actually very surprised about how how many great items we found. Check out this Missoni wool cape that’s $800 from $3400. It’s perfect for the weather right now and is fabulously chic. Here is a Marios Schwab dress that will be about $430 from $1800 and looks made-to-measure once it’s on the body. Over this way, is an Off-White bomber jacket that will come to $400 from $1630.

The extra discount promotion extends beyond the most discounted sale merchandise and can be applied to almost all reduced items. (We just like to target the best deals, of course.) Fendi flats are already rescued 40% and these leather pants will have you ready through the next season.

As far as sales go, StyleBop’s selection seems to be pretty on point. There is even an assortment of sizes still available. Seems like a good opportunity to pick up something extra nice before the holiday shopping begins.

    Inside the Bonpoint Sample Sale

The Bonpoint sample sale doesn’t officially start until tomorrow but there were dozens of eager shoppers vying for VIP access. people when we arrived immediately before the sale opened. This season’s sale is almost identical to past sales season’s.  There seems to be even more inventory than usual.

Most items at the Bonpoint sample sale is at set 60% off the retail sticker. Shoes, pullover sweaters and pants discounted 70%. That means that more formal dresses, which are normally priced in the $300-range are reduced to $120-ish. More casual dresses are about $200 in the boutique and come to about $80 at the sale. Boy’s trousers are about $60 from $150 and collared shirt comes to $48 from $120. (Click here to see lots of pictures from inside the sale.)

The majority of the inventory appears to be from the fall 2016 collection. Sorting through the clothing, there is almost something for everyone. We might go even as far to say that the selection is better than past seasons because there are a lot of classic items, which sometimes don’t make it to the sale. There was even a larger inventory in sizes two and three, which is usually nonexistent.

The sale also includes accessories, coats, blankets, pajamas, jackets and sweaters. Most of the shoppers were loading up full bags of merchandise. We suggest that Bonpoint shoppers head over quickly and those who aren’t can find lots of success at Zara kids.

Saks Hidden Discounts of 75% (Fendi,YSL & Miu Miu)

It seems as if Saks Fifth Avenue’s philosophy of buy and hold isn’t working out so well. The retailer seems to be holding a hefty amount of inventory from Winter 2016 and Summer 2017 and is now trying to quietly looking to dispose of the inventory. This is the perfect opportunity to grab that item you thought got away.

The discount is an additional 20% off, which brings the total discount to 75% on many items. The promotion runs through Monday at midnight. You can access the sale through this link.

The shoes are particularly amazing. Some of our favorite items include these Fendi combat boots with fur reduced to $485 from $1600, a Miu Miu jeweled and fathered sandals are $400 from almost $1300 and Jimmy Choo red suede peep-toe heels are about $270 from almost $900.

Among the clothing is a Jonathan Simkhai peplum top with bell sleeves that’s $100 from $365, a Dodo Bar Or dress is $110 from $438 and a Balmain dress is $540 from $2155. This leather dress was a highlight of Hedi Slimane’s last collection for Saint Laurent and was originally $5000 but can be yours for $1200.

What’s most interesting is that the small print in the email promotion says, “If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied, you may return your purchase for an exchange or refund. Online purchase may also be returned, free of charge, to any Saks Fifth Avenue store.” We like that idea.

    Rugs and Carpet Warehouse Sale

Finding top quality rugs for a deep discount isn’t easy.  Shopping the Internet just doesn’t cut it when you’re looking for an item that will be the focal point of a room for 10 years or more. Quality and style can’t always be distinguished through a computer monitor.

For this reason we were thrilled to find Aminco. The Secaucus-based company supplies top retailers  and designers with fine carpets and rugs. The assortment spans from designer modern to antique treasures. For three days only, Aminco is opening its warehouse to the public. Discounts will range up to 80% off.

Forzieri Sale: Bags & Shoes 70% Off

European online luxury store, Forzieri is hosting a promotion where all sale items are reduced an extra 20%. Just use the code XTR20 to engage the additional markdown, which brings the discount on most shoes and handbags to a wonderful 70% off.

The best part of this sale is that there is a great selection available. We’ve been taking about how much we love polka dots and these Charlotte Olympia shoes punctuate the trend perfectly, especially since they come to $200 from $645. Moschino super star heels heels are about $130 from about $600. Among the bags is this fringe Pucci style that’s $580 from nearly $1800 and this Jil Sander tote with grommets is $890 from about $2200.

If you’re shopping for Winter, the full price collection is 20% off. (Use the code FF20.) Balmain launched its first handbag selection this season. This styling resembles Vesace, and we aren’t sure that’s a good thing.

We would suggest using that 20% discount for a JW Anderson Pierce bag, which is one of the hottest styles of the season. The Saint Laurent Envelope Monogram bag is always a classic. You can’t say that about most designer bags– especially these days. (Looking at you Gucci.)

A Not-So-Quite Hermès Sale: Manhasset, NY

If you’ve been following along, you’ve already heard about the heartbreak of losing our annual Hermes sample sale. Word is that the big sale is being moved to Chicago but closer to home there is an off-site Hermes boutique sale in Manhasset, NY.

Everything at the Wheatley Plaza store is discounted 50% off retail. There are no handbags, watches, home goods or baby bags. Last year, customers were most excited to find lots of enamel bracelets but there are none this time around.

Shoppers can expect to find ready-to-wear, shoes, belts, ties, silk scarves, cashmere scarves, hats and ponchos. Our resident Hermes expert called this sale a major fail and left empty handed. Other insiders weren’t as critical and were thrilled by the various Oran sandals. (You know, the ones that are shaped in an H.) Other customers reported caftans, sneakers and other small accessories, like key chains.

The Manhasset sale is open through Thursday, October 12. We hear they are only allowing one or two people in at a time. Some customers reported waiting for two hours and then giving up. We expect that the lines will even be longer on Wednesday as news of the sale extends past Woodmere, Great Neck and Sands Point.

There are no purchasing limits. This isn’t the first time we’ve uncovered this Mall of Manhasset offsite sale. Here is our coverage from last year. It would be great help if anyone attending the sale added details in the comment section below.

    The IT-it: Silver Booties

It’s not exactly boot weather but anyone can clearly see that stores are betting big on the metallic boot trend. Almost every designer is offering a version of mirrored silver boots– to be specific.

    ????The Native Fox

Let’s be clear, these aren’t the $10,000 shiny crystal boots from Saint Laurent or copy cat brands. This season’s biggest shoe trend is mirror reflective or metallic shiny. Some of the biggest standouts are Balenciaga’s mirrored leather ankle boots ($855), Acne low ankle boots ($540) and the Isabel Marant ankle boots ($540) are almost the same but a little higher and the heel is the perfect geometric triangle. The Off-White version ($1190) is more industrial looking because of the rubber sole but the thin heel makes them 100% sexy. Of course, Saint Laurent has a version ($995) and the Proenza style ($915) has a patent black tip that is reminiscent of a Chanel boot. Oh yes, Chanel has something for you too ($1400).

You don’t necessarily need to opt for a thigh-high version and pair it with a Snoop tee (like the above picture). Surprisingly, these eye-catching shoes look great with lots of fall’s other trends. Match your silver boots with a rich velvet skinny pant, a wine colored midi-pleated skirt or a mini leather skirt with silver zippers. A more casual look can be a blouse or tee with rolled up jeans.

Who knew mirrored boots would be so easy to integrate into your closet and we give you 100% permission to go with the Snoop tee if you think you can pull it off.
