Weekend Shopping Highlights: Nordstrom, Intermix, LN-CC

The pre-holiday frenzy has hit a crescendo. Most people are in the midst of packing, traveling or, well, shopping. Regardless of where or how you spend the holidays, we are sure you’ll find some time to do a fashion scroll. The best part sharing your shopping adventure with family and friends. Below are some online shopping highlights of where we will be browsing this weekend.

    Nordstrom
Discounts are currently promoted as up to 60% off but we found markdowns topping 75%, which tops any retail discount.  We love this Sies Marjan skirt that gives the impression that a shirt is tied around the waist. It’s just $223 from almost $900. We’ve been crushing hard on this Monse stripped sweater that’s $566 from $1900, a versatile and classic Calvin Klein collection turtleneck is $87 from $300 and this Roksanda dress is at 70% off. Designer shoes are discounted between 40% and 60% off and luxury bags are reduced up to 60% off. Here is a great blue color Balenciaga City bag reduced 60%.

    Intermix
There is currently a flash sale promotion on Intermix Online where you can save an additional 40% off sale items, which brings the total discount to 75% off. This Monse dress will be amazing for your trip to Anguilla and it’s just $785 from nearly $2200. This IRO leather jacket is less expensive than a sample sale at $690 from $1435. This Balmain dress is a killer and is only $600, a Thomas Maier sweater is $500 from $1400 and Jimmy Choo high boots are $470 from $1300.

    LN-CC
You might find better markdowns on other sites but we have a 20% off promo code that can be applied to full priced and sale merchandise. During checkout, you can use our code LN-NY2019 to save 20% off everything on the site. These classic Gucci loafers, which are never marked down are $600 from $760. The code can also be applied to Gucci classic double-G belts like this one that is $384 from $480 and this Marmont bag is $1550 from $2000. The code works on this brand new Fendi (Fila) logo tee and the Kan I bag. This is the perfect moment to crack open the piggy-bank if you’ve been lusting after a luxury classic that “never goes on sale.”

    Bergdof Goodman: Extra 25% Off

As many New Yorkers are escaping for the holidays, Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus are giving shoppers an extra good reason to celebrate at home. Starting Thursday, you will be able to save an extra 25% off all sale items.

The promotional discount brings the total savings up to 70% off on clothing and nearly 65% off on shoes and bags. The online sale selection of handbags is much better than we would have imagined. There is still this classic Valentino Rockstud velvet bag that will come to about $1000 from $2500, and a mini Chloe Drew bag is $800 from nearly $2000 and an  Off-White box bag is about $550 from $1475. I think that $500 for this Prada tote, totally counts as a big score. At the store, you will still find some more Balenciaga, Proenza and Christian Louboutin styles left on the tables near the North Fifth Avenue entrance. (You can see pictures from inside the store over here.)

Up at the shoe department, there are still plenty of good options. Valentino hiking boots are $570 from almost $1100 and those Chloe Rylee block heel boots you’ve been searching for are $490 from nearly $1200. These Prada bow flats for $290 are already waiting in my cart and I’m are keeping a close eye on these Golden Goose sneakers,. Tweed Manolos are $300. Sorry, I must stop scrolling. There are too many good options.

Over in the clothing category, this Spiritual Gangster cashmere/ wool sweater for $110 is pretty safe. This Prada lipstick skirt is $380. It sold out when Barneys took the most recent markdown. We love everything from Gabriella Hearst and this cape top is a little over $500 from $1350 and this Delpozo sweater will be $340 from $900.

I didn’t expect for there to be so many amazing finds online. My cart is fully stocked. The promotion started this morning and so many items already sold out.  Remember to check Neiman Marcus if your size isn’t available at Bergdrofs. The promotion is the same but prices might differ a bit. This promotion runs through Christmas Day when the discount goes up to 33% off.

Gifts That Make You Feel Good (Inside and Out)

    Sponsored Post by Nordstrom

There is a lot of indulging during the holiday season– mainly gifts and food. It’s about this time of year that all these spoils have us thinking if ways to enrich ourselves and those we love.

I have a few gift suggestions to enhance the lives of those you love and Nordstrom is the perfect shopping destination as it has no lack of wonderful options. Focusing on the impending New Year, I recently picked up some incredible workout wear. I got these Koral leggings with a racing stripe ($125) and these Nike Odyssey running sneakers with the gold reflective swoosh ($90). I also really like these APL sneakers ($159) as a Nike alternative. I have littered the city with S’well bottles but I love how they keep my water cold for so many hours. You can never go wrong with a backup S’well water bottle ($35).

Beyond indulging myself, I got one of my daughter’s these adorable Nike Cortez sneakers ($55). I also got her these Verloop slippers ($38), which are sure to give anyone a warm and fuzzy feeling both inside and out. I already have a pair of Verloop gloves ($28) and I can honestly say that they keep your hands warm and are small enough to keep in your pockets without adding too much bulk.

Keeping the man in your life healthy is always a priority.  I love the red laces on these Nike hiking boots ($110) and these Bose headphones ($169) might keep his heart pumping a little longer. Here is a polar fleece track jacket from Adidas ($120) and this Champion Snoopy sweatshirt ($69) is sure to warm the heart as well as the body.

Nordstrom has everything you need to gift those you love. Keep in mind, December 18 is the last day for standard free shipping but orders placed by December 22 can be sent next business day and arrive on time for the holidays.

    Barneys Hits 75% Off

We are still a week away from Christmas but Barneys had jumped ahead of the pack again and started the third round of markdowns. As of this morning, Barneys discounts hit 75% off.

    ????irmasworld

When we heard of the big markdown news, we promptly ordered an Uber and headed down to check it out. The big 75% off price cut is almost entirely clothing. Shoes and bags are still holding steady at mostly 60% off. Among the clothing discounts, we found lots of great Prada, Proenza, and Margiela. We couldn’t resist a solitary Prada lipstick skirt that was reduced to $250 from about $1000. You can see pictures of our finds over this way.

Online you should check out this Prada sweatshirt dress that is $329 from $1310. Here is a Balmain sweatshirt for $150 from nearly $600, a Proenza Schouler dress for $370 from $1500 and an Alberta Ferretti “Dreamers” sweater is $120 from $500. The selection at the store is very different. Don’t forget to check the pictures we took inside the store.

Even though the biggest discounts are mostly on clothing, we couldn’t pass up an opportunity to check out to see what was on the shoe floor. There are still plenty of Chanel options, which just went on sale this past Friday. We have pictures of them too. The discount on Chanel is 40% off. On the “racks” most shoes are reduced by 60%. Tweed Manolo Hangisi heels are about $400 from $1025 and Prada Cloud sneakers are $369 from $690. There are also several pairs of Louboutin flats on the 60% off racks. Click for pics.

The clothing racks were buzzing mostly with personal shoppers and salespeople pulling for customers. We suggest you do a quick search online if you had your eye on any specific items or take a cruise through the store.

    Online Retailer’s Holiday Shopping Deadlines

The holiday shopping season is quickly coming to a crescendo. Online shopping has changed the way we serve up holiday gift giving. Long gone are the days of rushing from store to store to chase the elusive size or color variation. The entire world of shopping is at our fingertips.

As a matter of fact, over the past year, we’ve ordered items from a series of European sites and have been astonished by how quickly shipments arrive. Luisaviaroma, MatchesFashion, and Farfetch have delivered purchases in just more than a day and that’s without paying for additional expedited shipping. We also love receiving a purchase that arrives wrapped in delicate tissue paper and tied in a pretty bow. The presentation and experience make a small purchase feel like a luxury experience.

    J. Crew, on the other hand, has been a disaster. We placed an order for kids’ leggings on Black Friday and only received it on December 16. That’s 21-days to receive a domestically shipped item.  Needless to say, that was completely unacceptable.

You can always count on Net-A-Porter to offer solid customer service. The site is a dependable destination for the season’s hottest items. We also love that they carry enough inventory that the site doesn’t sell out too quickly. Check Ssense if you’re looking for small discounts on items not usually found on sale.

Melijoe is another wonderful online destination for kid’s gifts. Like, Luisaviaroma we received our items incredibly fast and our gifts came wrapped beautifully. The downside is that shipping is $19 and there aren’t free returns. That means that exchanging a wrong size could mean almost $40 in shipping, which often isn’t worthwhile.

We would love to hear about your online shopping experiences. Feel free to share stories about retailers doing it right those who are stumbling. Speaking of online shipping and shipping, below is your guide to getting your gift there on time. Weekend Shopping: Finding the Best Discount (Chanel too)

We only have a few days of shopping before Christmas. Monday is actually the last day of ground shipping for many retailers. Almost all of our favorite stores have taken a second markdown but discounts vary.

One would expect to universally save 60% off women’s clothing but Saks Fifth Avenue is a little tricky. Their designer clothing is reduced by 30% to 60% off. The more popular the brand, the lower the Saks discount. Shoes are also reduced by just 30%, which isn’t very competitive. On the bright side, the racks are still overflowing with options. (You can click here to see pictures inside the store.)

Barneys just added another price cut to its Louboutin selection, which is now reduced by 60%. You can click to see what we found. The sale selection is getting pretty thin over on Madison. We did find a few standouts including silver Paul Andrew pumps that are $379 from $745 and Manolo Hangisi pumps like these are about $400 from $1025.

In other news, Barneys will be starting its Chanel presale on Friday. The discount will be 40% off.  Flip to the jump to see the shoe styles we suspect will be included in the markdown. The Chanel presale at Bergdorf Goodman will begin on FRIDAY too but the discount is just 30%. On the flip side, we think the selection is better at BG. You can read all about it and see pictures in our previous post.

Keep in mind, lots of online retails are running great promotions too. On Farfetch, you can save an additional 20% off sale items with the code F20D. Net-A-Porter just started a second markdown where discounts have hit 70% on some items. Shopbop is offering an extra 30% off reduced merchandise through Thursday only and don’t forget to check Ssense before purchasing anything that isn’t on sale. They seem to have at least a little discount on almost everything,

Below is a comparison chart of Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue. As usual, Barneys is the clear winner across the board. The next and final markdown usually happens after Christmas.

FRIDAY: Chanel Sale at Bergdorf Goodman

Everyone loves a good mystery and Chanel has done an excellent job keeping customers waiting in suspense for its first markdown. Sales associates all over the city earnestly had no information about an impending sale. Many salespeople repeated the rumor that there would be absolutely no sale, anywhere, this season.

Technically speaking, Chanel boutiques will not host a markdown this season. Shoppers with experience know that a Chanel markdown would occur at some point, and we have officially reached that point.

Madison Avenue Spy has received early information that Bergdorf Goodman will quietly host a private presale on Chanel shoes starting this FRIDAY morning. This presale is invitation only and will begin before the store opens to the general public. The discount will be 30% off retail.

The official list of what’s included in the markdown will not be available until Monday morning. Obviously, we wouldn’t allow Bergdorfs to withhold such valuable information. We enlisted the expertise of the most experienced Chanel sale associates and put together a picture library of what we expect to be included in the markdown. You can click here to see pictures of what we anticipate to be on sale based on inventory levels, customer feedback, and seasonality. We also expect that Bergdorfs will pull past season merchandise onto the sales floor too.

Naturally, our investigation didn’t end at Bergdorfs. Our spies at Bloomingdale’s say that they haven’t received any directives from Chanel but they do have a closet of past season’s shoes that will be included when their markdown happen. You can click here to see. The discounts on these shoes are 60%.

Our senior manager contact Barneys says she is baffled over the Chanel mystery. She even questioned if there would be a sale at all. (We know the answer.) The story was very similar at Saks. Salespeople insisted that all markdowns will be coordinated across all retail outlets. (Apparently not.)

For now, we look forward to FRIDAY morning at Bergdorf Goodman. Feel free to email our sales contact for an invitation. We apologize in advance, but we can’t promise that he will be able to accommodate everyone. This sale preview is for “serious shoppers only.”
