The selection is very good and the prices are about what you would find at a Bandier sample sale but without the hassle.

    Weekend Shopping: Obsessions & Impulses

It’s hard to get excited about any shopping considering all of our attention is focused on soaking in the last days of Summer. I really try to direct my attention towards the kids and create memories that will withstand a decade of time.

That doesn’t nullify the need for a relaxing scroll.  Right now,  you will still be able to find a few interesting items within the sale assortment at Saks Fifth Avenue. The discounts are up to 75% off. Revolve also has some major markdowns upwards of 70% off. Intermix recently added some late Summer arrivals to its sale section too.

This week, I’m most excited about finding a replacement for Drybar’s discontinued sparkle hairspray It’s taken me weeks of testing and trying assorted products but this Unicorn hairspray ($16) offers the perfect sparkle mist to add extra glow to the golden hour or any other hour of the day or night.

Below is a compilation of a few of my favorite items that I’ve purchased, carted or agonized over. I will be sure to update this post as I scroll uncover more impulse purchases.

    The IT-It: Plaid

As much as we hate to see Summer winding down, it’s always smart to stay ahead of fashion’s biggest trends. We are excited to bring on the browns, the sweaters, and slip-on an extra layer–perhaps in the form of a plaid?

    Credit: Trendfriend

Plaid is a signature of 90s grunge culture, which has been pushing hard into all pockets of 2019 lifestyles. Plaid suiting and mashed-up separates are already hard-hitting in the street style world and are sure to capture the attention of photographers lenses during this upcoming fashion week.

Burberry, Brock Collection, and Monse offer classic schoolgirls plaid options, which is perfect hitting study hall. Personally, we prefer the cooler mashups offered by Preen by Thornton Begrazzi, which mixes plaids, tartans, and checks.

Take the liberty to mix checks, Madras, gingham and windowpane to your heart’s desire. It gives you a kind of preppy appearance, plus there is a kind of mannish touch that feels like couture Lumberjack. If all else fails, grab a flannel and you can brag about conquering this timeless trend with almost no effort at all.

    Sephora End-Of-Summer Sale

Most people are surprised at my low-key beauty regimen. (If you ever want to call it that.) I’m especially au natural during the Summer when I refuse to compromise my beach time for a manicure. Short nails and sunscreen are all I need.

Coming into Fall that will all change. Without a tan I’m sure to head back to the old routine of concealer, foundation, blush, mascara …blah…blah…blah. Sephora’s current promotion is the ideal time to stock up on everything I know I’ll need for Fall. Shoppers can use the code SUMMERSAVE to engage a discount of 15% off.

The promotion begins Tuesday and runs through August 27. I’ve listed all my favorite beauty items below. In blogger talk that translates to mean the I actually buy myself.

Armani Luminous Silk Foundation (5.75 $60)

    Dior Diorshow Mascara (Black $29.50

YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick (Smoking Plum $38)

Pat Mcgrath LuxeTrance Lipstick (Donnatella $40)

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Custard $30)

La Mer Eye Concentrate (Splurge $225)

Laneige Water Bank Eye Gel (Budget $40)

    Dyson Hairdryer ($399)

Marc Jacobs Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner (Black $25)

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush (Mood Exposure $40)

    Totokaelo Finds at 70% Off

Online shopping has taken over such a large part of our retail experience that there are close-by stores that I have only experienced online. For example, Totokaelo, which is known for it’s ‘new wave fashion’ is in prime Soho territory but I’ve only shopped the store online.

For lack of a better analogy, I’m happy with our online romance and wouldn’t want to jeopardize the relationship by meeting in person. The exclusively virtual experience works well because I trust the quality and value of the merchandise.

Considering the big discounts, you might want to investigate establishing your own relationship with Taotkaelo. Most sale items are 60% to 70% off and there is some very intriguing merchandise to discover.

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Hayward bags. They are sold in Bergdorfs and represent an understated elegance. There are no logos on the bags and the quality is incredible. This mini baby blue moire is just $177 from $590. There is a yellow one too for the same price. A large size, in Black moire, is $255 from $850. They are all lined in leather. You really don’t find this type of quality for these prices.

Other sale items that caught my attention are these Simon Rocha jelly slides for $170 from $565, a Rachel Comey jumpsuit for $180 from $600, and this Sies Marjan sleeveless dress for $389 from $1300. I’m in love with the lines on these JW Anderson shorts that are $168 from $560. There is also a great selection of highly reduced Ellery clothing and accessories.

The length of these Balenciaga capri pants is the epitome of city chic. I would pair them with ballet flats, a simple tee, and a Hermes Evelyn crossbody.  It’s the best-dressed mommy playground uniform ever. Period. End of story.

It’s up to you if you want to establish a virtual Totokelo relationship or take it to the next level. Either way, it’s comforting to know that you will get great quality stylish fashion.

    Moda Operandi Final Markdowns

For retail shoppers sale season is about to come to a close. It’s essentially 2am, the music is off and the lights are about to be turned on. The party is just about over. In relation to Moda Operandi, you have less than 48 hours to check out anything that remains in your cart.

Some of the items I’m still considering include this Loewe pink and white Gate bag that’s $1920 from  $3200, a Johanna Oritz hat is $93 from $310 and Givenchy silver sling-backs are $240 from $795. This long sleeve Balmain dress is a little bit of a splurge at $700 from $2300 but it will take you way into Fall.

The sale section officially disappears at 11:59PM on Sunday. Choose wisely.

    Stylebop: 25% Off Everything

Get this! Starting Thursday morning, shoppers can save 25% off everything on Stylebop. That includes the new Fall collections and sale. Just use the code LASTCALL25 to engage the discount.

You can’t go wrong applying the code to merchandise that’s already on sale and there are some really great items on mega-discount. This Delpozo blouse is $300 from $1350. I still have a crush on this Raf era Calvin Klein skirt that’s now only $280 from $1855. These Balenciaga knife boots come to just $300 from $1970. They are a bit overplayed but for this price can look amazing with rolled up jeans or black peddle pushers.

Some of the pre-season highlights include this Balmain tote that comes to $750 from about $1000, a TB Burberry belt is $337 from $460 and a Max Mara cashmere coat represents casual-decadence. Even brand new Moncler is included in the promotion. These Moncler Genius boots are $318 from $425 and a Moncler Noir Kei Ninomiya puffer is about $1475 from $1925. And get this, the site carries Philipp Plein and it’s all included in the promo too.

The promotion launches at 7am CET. In NYC, that’s 1am Monday morning. We suggest you start shopping now and cart what you like right now. The sale will end mid-day on Sunday in NYC.

    TheOutnet: Dolce & Gabbana Sale

UPDATE: Use the code AUGUST25 to save an extra 25% off. (Thank you @Luxe__Hunt)

TheOutnet is hosting a large sale of Dolce & Gabbana merchandise. The discount on most items ranges from 50% to 60% off, which isn’t exactly earth-shattering but the selection is really phenomenal.

Some of the highlights include this patchwork lace short skirt that’s $558 from $1600, a silk floral print skirt is $978 from $2645, playfully embellished sandals are $490 from $1260 and this space-floral theme classic midi dress is $864 from $1910. I love the print on this scarf and it’s actually a consideration at $200 from $400.

I agree. The prices seem very high, but I noticed that some prints are from the recent Summer collection. The shells print is still in stores now. I carted my favorite items and will wait for a good promotion before I check out.

In the meantime, the site also is plentifully stocked with Zimmerman, Pucci and M. Missoni pieces that are good end-of-Summer to Fall options. This Versace Collection silk blouse can actually be very useful and it’s only $250.

Remember, fashion week is only a few weeks away. Time to get cracking!
