    Net-A-Porter Designer Discount Promotion

The trend of early designer discount promotions is expanding. Net-A-Porter first started offering a small discount exclusively on designer shoes but has now extended the promotion to a full assortment of product verticals. Starting Monday,  you can save 15% off anything within this link with the use of the code NEWNOW15.

You’ll quickly notice that most of the merchandise within this promotion edit will be included in the first markdown. The fact of the matter is that the big first markdown won’t happen until mid-November and some items might sell out before then.

Net-A-Porter first started floating these pre-season nominal discounts last year and it was a big hit. You’ll notice that a lot more designers aren’t included in the promotion. There’s no Saint Laurent, no Fendi, no Givenchy. Even that newly emerging brand Khaite is excluded.

You can contemplate this new style of Tom Ford bag with numerous mixed metal chains or this Tara style works great as an every-day bag and is priced quite reasonably. This mini Boyy bag is adorable and much less expensive than other mini designer options. Picking up a piece of Away luggage might not be a bad idea considering it isn’t usually discounted.

This Rotate Birger Christensen dress caught our attention mid-scroll At after the discount it’s under $300 and that’s a lot of look for the money.  Balmain is included in the promotion. The short double-breasted blazer is already sold out but the longer option is still available. We actually like it better and there are numerous colors from which to choose.  This Versace tee is sold out in several sizes. It wouldn’t be a good idea to snag it with this discount if it’s been a consideration.

We were surprised to find an abundance of beauty products in the discount edit. We usually don’t like buying cosmetics online but a 15% discount on a restock might not be a bad idea if you use especially pricey products. (Callout: Frederic Malle that’s included too.)

We suggest looking for what you want most and inquiring about inventory levels. Once you have all the information, you can decide if 15% off is a big enough discount now or you can wait for 30% off later.

    Shopping: Obsessions & Impulses

Even though the weather is still quite warm but it’s only a matter of time until Fall materializes. For years, I’ve been yearning for a double-faced robe style coat and this season seems to be the right time to take the plunge.

I love the idea of trading out the standard issue belt with something more statement making. I initially had my eye on the Bottega Veneta horse bit belt. I later realized that it is a take on the original Tiffany Elsa Peretti Equestrian belt that’s $200 less and made of sterling silver. I also love the long coat paired with the Loewe Obi belt or a bold Alaia option.

Starting with the coat, I found that Italist has a great assortment from Max Mara that’s super discounted. Just for example the tremendously popular Max Mara Teddy coat is $3600 at Saks and almost sold out. Here it is Italist in black for $534, here is grey for the same price. Here is a Weekender teddy version in brown for $899.

My personal obsession is more focused on a sleek long coat. I prefer one with a small lapel and without a hood. Here is a simple beige style for $704. A similar version is $2950 at Saks.  Here is a shorter version in black for $534 and this version with a more Peterpan style collar for the same price.  I’ve pulled images of other great value options below. Prices this discounted pay for the statement belt.

In other add-to-cart sale intrigues, Century 21 has loaded lots of Christian Louboutin options to it’s site. This classic black Pigalle is $420 from $725 and a Navy Fifi is $400 from $700.

Keep your eyes on this space over the weekend. I’ll be sure to add new items as I scroll through. Also feel free to send over any hot tips.

    Farfetch: New 30% Off Sale

At the start of the Month, Farfetch started a promotion where all sale merchandise was discounted 30% off. We went back to take another look before the sale ended and noticed a lot of new options thrown into the mix. That translates to a more new and deeper discounts. You can use this link to access the sale selection and add the code FX30 at checkout to engage the additional savings.

There are several items in the sale section that jumped out at us. The first item is this classic black YSL Sac de Jour that comes to $1550 from $3150 (sold out). That’s more than a 50% discount and it’s not so often that we see the classic black reduced at all.

This Jil Sander tote is another standout classic style and worth snatching up at $1400 from $3470. This Fendi Mon Tresor bucket bag comes to $1120 from $2290 and this Givenchy GV3 bag with fringe is $1130 from $2700. Notice that there is only one of each for most of these styles.

Among the shoes, we found these Jimmy Choo hiking boots that come to $700 from over $1400 (sold out), Alexander McQueen ankle boots are $366 from $1046 and Saint Laurent sneakers are $390 from $800. These Bottega loafers are $420 from $740 and are available in a variety of colors.

The clothing section has so much that it really requires a deep dive. We took a browse through the coats and found this Fendi style with fur pockets for $2200 from $5400,  this Esteban Cortazzar ombre coat is $2270 from $7100, and a Mr. & Mrs. Italy puffer is $1000 from $2500.

We are told that this sale will only run through the end of the month. It’s worthwhile to add-to-cart and edit from there. You can always wait until next month and see the next big promo.

Intermix: Early Season Markdowns 60% Off

It still feels like Summer and we aren’t complaining. Retailers on the other hand, need a chill to hit the air to ignite sweater and boot customers. Since you can’t do anything about the weather, Intermix is enticing shoppers with a good markdown.

You can use this link to access the sale. Discounts are up to 60% off and include a lot of transitional pieces. The nice thing about this sale is there are a lot of great designer pieces too.  Here is a Monse knit dress reduced to $540 from $1300, gold Jimmy Choo heels are $500 from $725 and this Veronica Beard blazer is $390 from $650. (It’s a good Balmain dupe for one-third the price.)

There are also some great moderately priced mid-range items too. This Stine Goya print dress caught our eye for just $319 from $540. Check out the lines on these Matteo Mars slingbacks for $280 from $660. This Michelle Maison bodysuit is $219 from $370 and would look great under– you guessed it– a blazer.

Don’t forget to scroll through your favorite denim brands. There are lots of great savings. This Grlfrnd Kendall style is $89 from $228, this Frame skinny jeans are $99 from $215 and these Agolde loose and distressed white jeans are $99 from $158. Just make sure you know your size and like the fit because these super reduced styles are final sale.

Early Access: Shopbop Spend & Save 25%

For a long time department stores have been luring shoppers in with gift cards as shopping incentives. We’d prefer a straight discount over a gift card that expires and luring you to spend more than it’s face value.

Through Friday, Shopbop is offering a shopping discount incentive that increases to 25% off. Just use the code STOCKUP19 at checkout. The promotion isn’t public yet, so make sure to use this link to access the sale.

Right now, you can save 20% off on orders under $500 or save 25% off if you spend even more. Some things that caught our eye are this Jacquemus itty-bitty bag, Margiela white sneakers or some classic Levi’s 501’s. This Lioness blazer resembles the lines of a Balmain style but it’s only $88. Maybe it’s worth a shot?

Don’t miss this season’s hottest accessory: A belt that can be slung and manipulated into all sorts of configurations. This Off-White industrial belt is a casual option and this O-style is perfect for more dressed up options.  This season, hiking boots are used as a eye-catching juxtaposition to a dress or skirt. We like this Rachel Comey style or go grunge classic with a pair of Dr. Martens.

Of course, there are items even reduced more from prior seasons. In the sale section we found this Sonia Rykiel quilted hearts bag that will be about just $300 from about $900 or a Hayward mini-shopper that will be about $230 from almost $600. These MSGM transparent ankle boots would be fun to style for $130 from $560.

If the item you’re watching isn’t included in this markdown it is likely to be added in the next sale drop. Usually, the site adds batches of merchandise every few weeks.

The couture is always what melts our hearts at these sales. We almost fell over when we spotted a one-of-a-kind pink 3-D floral wool jacket that retails for $13,000 but is now $2600. A black wool sweater with lace detailing is a little more wallet friendly at $460 from $2290 and a full lace maxi skirt is about $800 from $3450. (Click for pics.)
