    Hervé Léger 70% Off

The Hervé Léger boutique, on Madison Avenue, has started the bi-annual clearance sale where winter clothing, shoes and accessories are reduced up to 70% off. The sale is also online and the selection is actually very good.

Inside, you will find a v-neck color blocked signature style bondage dress for $387 from $1290, a higher neck yellow and red color blocked dress for $335 from $1340 and a green a-line skirt is $340 from $1150. Newer styles are less reduced but a bit more on-trend. This scalloped neck, white a-line is $676 from $1690 and this more daytime windowpane color blocked dress is $716 from $1790.

The dresses are always the highlight of an Hervé Léger sale but classic-style pumps for under $200 are a no-brainer. The belts are also quite amazing, although they are a pricey. Be warned, sizes do tend to sell out quickly. This is one of those sales that you don’t want to wait too long.

    Chanel Is Now 60% Off

Chanel always says that they do not discount bags and we have always been able to call their bluff. This season, however, Chanel has succeeded in strong-arming Neiman Marcus into not putting any bags on sale. Now, the only place you can find a discounted Chanel bag is Saks Fifth Avenue.

    Saks NYC

The discount on Chanel bags at Saks is 40% but we really couldn’t find a style worth highlighting. The best among the sale merchandise is a small lumpy sequined bag.

Saks just started a second markdown on shoes today, bringing the discount to 60%. Most of what’s left are boots. A pair of low cowboy-style boots come to $660 and tall leather riding boot are just $690.  You can see a selection of the sale boots in the jump pictures. Remember, Saks no longer takes returns on markdowns this late in the season. So be careful with your purchases.

Heading over to Neiman Marcus — even if they don’t have sale bags — you can still find jewelry and shoes for 55% to 60% off. A pair of pearl drop earrings are now priced at $236 and a pearl bracelet with interlocking Cs is $281. Photos in the jump.

Chanel doesn’t sell any fashion merchandise online. If you’re interested in any of these items you will have to call the individual stores. If you have a great Chanel tip, email us here, so that we can share the good fortune.

    Nordstrom’s Final Markdown

It’s amazing how many times you can shop the same store and still find new items to grab your attention. This is especially true after additional markdowns. Right now, Nordstrom took their final price cut and designer clothing is priced up to 65% off.

A Saint Laurent sheer blouse with over sized red dots is now $765 from $2250, an embroidered Alexander Wang shift dress is $757 from $1895 and a Markus Lupfer fish sweater is $155 from $390. Most shoes are still 40% off but there are still some better deals. Saint Laurent slip-on sneakers are $200 from $600 and Jason Wu pumps with a buckle are $302 from $890.

Louboutin fans should take note that Nordstrom just started carrying the red sole favorites. Hopefully, next season, the store will be able to offer customers red hot discounts.

    Ralph Lauren Now 70% Off

Ralph Lauren started their winter clearance today and merchandise is now reduced up to 70%. This isn’t the biggest discount for the Americana-designer but it is the time of year where you can find the best sale selection for the greatest discount.

A Black Label cashmere cardigan comes to $350 from $1195. Mind you, Ralph Lauren’s high end cashmere lasts forever. A Marguerite dress from the runway collection is about $1000 from $3700 and select colors of women’s polos are $17 from $90. For men, a ribbed sweater with elbow patches is about $50 from $125 and a solid color tie from the Purple Label is $77 from $215.

In most cases, the Ralph Lauren boutique will match the online prices but you will need to wait for a manager’s authorization. In this instance it might just be easier to shop online.

You should take note that the new markdown just started today and merchandise is selling rather quickly. We suggest not procrastinating on checkout. We had items sell out as they were in our shopping cart. And it’s always ironic how much more you “need” an item once you can’t have it.

Complete Fashion Credits From Taylor Swift’s Blank Space

Taylor Swift has undoubtedly shaken things up. From her dancing to her side bangs — the girl is on a roll. In addition to Taylor’s crossover into pop, her style choices are getting the attention of mainstream fashion.

In Taylor’s most recent video, Blank Space, the singer changes outfits more than 20 times. Each gown, dress and earring is more spectacular than the next. We couldn’t help but want to emulate the same wardrobe and set out to find all of the fashion credits from the video.

With the help of ‘Mia Rose’ we were able to piece together a fashion play-by-play of everything worn by Taylor Swift in her Blank Space video. Most of the fashion is from spring 2014 and already out of stores but we attempted to include links to items that are still available or close to what the designer previously created.

Snooping Through Barneys Sale, 35+ Pics

Most New Yorkers are finally back from holiday and on the top of most every fashion-lovers to-do list is to check out the sales. We scoured the sale racks at Barneys today and were delighted to see how much inventory was still available. As a matter of fact, there is certainly something for everyone.

The discount on the very small amount of left over bags and small leather goods is 40%. We found a PS1 in light blue suede, two Marni fringe totes and accessories, Balenciaga iPhone sleeves and a few Chloe accessories and bags. Head this way to see pictures of the first floor sale selection.

It’s a Great Time to Buy Outerwear

It’s no secret that most designer fashion is highly reduced but you may have had a more difficult time finding a good discount on the perfect puffer or ski jacket. Until now, that is. Most stores reserve discounts on popular outerwear until after New Years, which would make this moment the best time to pounce on the most desirable puffers and coats.

It’s nearly impossible to find discounts on Moncler if you’re shopping online but department stores and boutiques usually discount the popular uber-luxe puffers. You can usually find the best sale selection at Barneys and J. McLaughlin, which has men’s and women’s stores on Madison and Lexington. Discount can range from 20% to 50% off.

Saks is a great place to go if you’re looking for a large range of outerwear, from down jackets to more elaborate luxury coats. For example, a Belstaff parka is $930 from $1530 and an ADD Down fur trim puffer is $434 from $620. We also found a selection of newcomer
SAM with a down jacket priced $206 from $295 and higher up the designer latter is an
Alexander Wang shearling collared puffer jacket $858 from $2195.

Nordstrom also has a good variety of discounts ranging from high-end designers to more contemporary brands. A Marni oversized coat is $1300 from $3250 and Guess outerwear is 33% to 40% off, with prices starting at just $100.

For coats, the discount is much better at Bergdorf Goodman than Neiman Marcus. For examples, both a Marni Beaver and floral print coat ($1215 from $3040)
Stella McCartney embroidered face coat ($1731 from $4330) are still thousands more if you overlook the Lavender lady.

European sites, like Stylebop, are also a great place to look for casual and more formal jackets and coats. A delicate light blue embroidered Peter Pilotto coat is priced 70% off, $3142 from $10,478 and an Etro color block coat is half-off, or $1755 from $2350. Duvetica jackets and coats are 30% to 40% off and an APC parka is 50% off. Farfetch has some Canada Goose jackets, vets and coats that are 30% off.

Over at Net-a-Porter, it’s the same situation with more fancy coats discounted the highest. A multi-color Thakoon padded outer coat is 70% off and a more traditional Sacai puffer is 40% off. Even Moda Operandi has a range of discount options like, this MSGM nylon parka that’s $595 from $1190 to a Aquilando Rimoni embroidered wool coat that’s $2490 from $5290.

If you’re shopping in stores, keep your eyes out for returns.  We’ve heard of Prada puffer finds more than a few times. Now, that is a score.
