What I’d Buy Again for Every College Move-In
After sending two daughters off to college and helping set up more dorm rooms and apartments than I care to count, I've learned that this is one category where buying the cheapest option is usually the most expensive. You don't need to indulge in everything, but there are certain items that are worth the investment because they last, perform better, and survive move after move. Below are the products I've been happiest with over the years and I'd buy again without hesitation. And don't stress yourself out putting together furniture or trying to move this and that. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale opens to the public on Saturday but many shopper can begin purchasing now. I don't want to overhype a non-sale sale, but there are still some worthwhile shopping opportunities. The beauty exclusives are always fun, baby gear is one of the best categories because discounts are hard to find, and if you have kids, this is a good time to pick up the sneakers, UGGs, and other back-to-school staples you know they'll want anyway. For the rest of us, the urgency is a little lower. There are some cute teddy jackets, and you can never go wrong with a classic Ralph Lauren sweater that somehow ends up being shared by the whole family. Just don't forget that Nordstrom's final designer markdowns are happening at the same time, and in my opinion, that's where the real excitement is. You can find all of those details here. Nordstrom: Final Markdown Promotion
Nordstrom has reached its final markdowns, and this is typically when the sale gets especially interesting. Select sale shoes and handbags are an extra 25% off, while sale clothing is an extra 40% off, bringing many designer pieces to as much as 75% to 80% off. Standout finds include Prada shoes, Chloé, Manolo Blahnik, Valentino, Dries Van Noten, Etro, and more. I combed through the designer section and pulled the very best of the best, so you can skip the endless scrolling. The Outnet: Summer Specials
TheOutnet remains one of my favorite places to shop because you can almost always count on finding a genuinely great deal. The Outnet is particularly strong when it comes to occasion dressing, making it an excellent destination for weddings, parties, and summer events that call for something special. The only thing hotter than the temperatures outside may be the newest markdowns at Nordstrom, where select items have now reached up to 80% off.
