    Children’s Showroom Sale

The children’s showrooms at 131 West 33rd Street are at it again. Petit Bateau, Magia Imports (Simonetta, Cavalli, Il Gufo and Armani Jr. etc) and Groupe Zannier (Kenzo, Cantimini, Tartine et Chocolat, Floriane etc) are all hosting sales with amazing discounts. As with most great sample sales there are also major lines. Some of the 100 plus people waiting to get into Zannier waited on 33rd St. for more than two hours.

The wait was worth the time and patience. Floriane dresses that retail for $100 to $170 are all $25, sweaters that retail for about $85 are all $20, and skirts there are normally about $100 are $20. IKKS, Cantimini, and Jean Bourget, dresses are all $20, shirts are $10 and winter coats are $40. There’s so much merchandise there that it’s better if you plan to go later in the day when there’s usually no line.

Our next stop was Petit Bateau, where everything was priced at about $20, There were lots of kid’s pajamas and boxed shirts, which range retail for $45 to $75 and are now $20. Blouses and shirts are $15 at the showroom and scarves are just $5. More shipments are coming in daily so make sure to ask a sales person if you don’t see what you want.

Finally we ended our shopping journey at Magia where they sliced prices a bit from where they were two weeks ago. Everything is now 50% to 50% off wholesale prices. We found gorgeous Simonetta dresses that retail for $700 were reduced to $180. A baby Il Gufo stretchy retails for $32 and now $7 at the sale.

The sale runs until Friday at all the above showrooms. If you love European kids clothing and hate the prices this is a sale not to miss. More details below:

    Rene Caovilla 70% Off

Earlier this week we Twittered upon a new site we love, Luxurate. Not only are there posts about beautiful shoes but there’s also great sale information. Our jaws dropped to the floor when we saw a post about Rene Caovilla shoes at 70% off. That’s right, 70% off. The sale is at the Rene Caovilla store in Palm Beach but is also online.

One pair of gold jewel encrusted high heels were $1195 and are now $358. Still not pocket change but enough discount to have us feeling for our wallets. Intertwined crystal motif flats were $1250 and are now $375 and a pair of red satin spiral sandals with crystals were are $289 from $955.

Luxurate also has sale information on the Manolo Boutique in Vagas. Before you get all pumped to head to 54th know that the stores do not have the same owner and NY will not go on sale until summer.

    Henri Bendel Castoffs

Earlier this month, the 114-year-old luxury department store, Henri Bendel, announced that it will stop selling clothing and focus instead on its accessories and cosmetics. That’s a lot of clothing to hit the discount market and we know where it’s going…

In the East Village, there is Gabay’s Outlet, a small designer discount store we like to think of as Century 21 lite. The store gets major close-outs from Bergdorfs and– you got it– Henry Bendel. Most shoes, bags, clothing and accessories at Gabay’s are priced at 50% to 80% off retail. Expect to find lots of Chanel, Manolo, and Jimmy Choos shoes, in addition to YSL and and Oscar de la Renta clothing. There is also lots of great men’s lables, including Etro and Davide Cenci.

We were speaking with the owner today and found out that our East Village secret had first pick Henri Bendel’s luxury castoffs. The shipment is expected to hit the store later this week and should include some great clothing.

The rest of the merchandise, we’re told, is heading to TJ Maxx.

    Dior Private Sale

Dior has quietly gone on sale. The markdown is 50% off. If you don’t see signs don’t be afraid to ask.

Speaking of Dior and Galliiano, we hear that Johnny is poised to start showing at the haute couture shows under his on label, in addition to Dior. His muse is set to be a super model with a cracked cell phone.
