50 Pics Inside Saks 70% Off

The discount at Saks Fifth Avenue goes to 70% off starting Wednesday. The online sale started today but, as usual, the in-store assortment is much better. Beware, since Hudson Bay Company purchased Saks, they have created new rules. All third markdowns are final sale. We are told that these rules are strict and there are absolutely no backsies.

As you head out for the holiday weekend, it’s hard not to wonder what you might be missing inside the store. To quench your curiosity we scoured every cranny of the Saks flagship to bring you a virtual shopping experience. After the jump we have more than 50 pictures of sale merchandise. Links are added to items that can also still be found online.

We started out hunt on the main floor where there are still a few bags left from the prior markdowns. We found this Alexander McQueen clutch that’s now $898 from $2245. A floral print Jimmy Choo beach bag is $550 from $1095 and quilted Lanvin Happy bags are about $1200 from $2420. You see more pics of sale bags over here.

Heading to the third floor, designer clothing, there is still a great variety of summer fashion ripe for the picking. Today the discount is 60% but tomorrow it will all be 70% off. There is still a small selection of Chanel clothing at 40% off. We are told that there will be no further markdowns but we wouldn’t be surprised if another discount was taken in a few weeks.

In the shoe department, on eight, there is a huge variety of shoes. The assortment is really staggering. Almost all shoes will hit 70% off. The only exceptions are Louboutin and Chanel, which are still only 30% off. Moda Operandi is hosting a summer sale where some of the most stylish designer items from the season are discounted 70%. M’O is still one of those insider laces to shop and is often the destination where we tend to find those pieces that are otherwise sold out.

Check out this Delpozo dress. It’s is on the edge of trend change–moving away from bodycon– and is $1140 from $3800. A Carven poplin dress with midriff cutouts is perhaps more wearable and affordable at $225 from $750 and these Harve Faircloth wide-legged white pants are absolutely perfect for $110 from $365.

There are really a lot of great pieces in the sale section. You can scroll through the photos above to see our favorites. The site says that these are the final reductions. We’ll keep an eye out on markdowns and hope another comes  our way before the site switches over to fall.

    Intermix Discounts Hit 80% Off

The discounts at Intermix are climbing quickly. Right now, many clearance items are discounted 60% and most everything on sale is discounted an additional 30%. The only downside is that all reduced items are final sale.

We were searching the sale selection online and found this Markus Lupfer lips tee that comes to $41 from $150, this updated-skort is $50 from $225, a croc embossed Yigal Azrouel leather jacket comes to $600 from almost $2000 and Valentino camo flats com ego $460 from almost $1100.

The site also has a pretty good selection of sunglasses that are all about 50% off. It’s not a bad idea to put a $100 cap on sunnies, considering how they are the one of the most commonly lost items.

    Gucci Adds to Online Sale

While it’s always a welcome sight to see spring merchandise in December, it’s disconcerting to watch the unveiling of fall 2014 before July. Spending full price on that merchandise is should just be downright illegal.

As Gucci boutiques have started to receive their pre-fall collection and we noticed that the online sale inventory has vastly grown. There is even great options for those who want to get a jump start on growing their cool weather wardrobes. (The horror.) Take this goose down jacket is $700 from $1390, this double-heart cashmere sweater is $450 from $900 and this heavy cotton knit embroidered sweater is $750 from $1500. In the shoe section there is even plenty of boots. These brown mid-heels are $630 from $1250 as are these suede high heel classic Gucci zipper boots.

Hey, maybe you have a summer ski trip to South America or are planning an expedition to the Arctic Circle? Either way, we still prefer an itty bitty bikini to heavy knits.

Net-a-Porter has started to aggressively discount its summer merchandise. A critical mass of merchandise is now 80%, which includes plenty of clothing, swimwear, shoes, lingerie and jewelry.

This Shimmi wrap bikini is just $43 from $215, this Kenzo ruffle bikini is $50 from $250 and this onepiece Roksanda Ilincic is $125 from $625– and will hopefully offer (even me) enough butt coverage. The Elle Macpherson bras and panties are quite stunning and an excellent deal at just $20 for a bra and $6 for matching panties.

Over in the accessories section, we spotted Oscar de la Renta earrings for $60 from $300 and this VickiSarge gold plated and wood necklace is $363 from $1800. The shoe 80% off shoe selection is a bit more limited but there is a pair of Oscar de la Renta slingbacks for $140 from $700 and Kenzo booties for $140 from $700.

There aren’t any bags reduced 80% but in the next couple of weeks we should see even more merchandise added to the 80% category. NAP usually ends its sale before July 4th but that’s when its sister site, TheOutnet, has it’s bi-annual blowout.
