Chanel Shoes Extra 30% & Sonia Rykiel 75% Off

There isn’t much left in stores from the winter 2014 collections. Saks and Barneys have done away with the aging collections and what’s left at Bloomingdales and Bergdorfs is sparse. One bright spot, however, are the Chanel shoes and Sonia Rykiel selection at Bloomingdales, on 59th Street.

Chanel shoes, which are already reduced, are an extra 30% off. Mid-calf lace-up boots with a built-in wool sock, ring in under $900 from $1750. Nude and black cap-toe sparkly platforms are $460 from almost $900 and all black knee-high boots are $1500 from almost $2300. There are also some shoes that haven’t been treated to a first markdown and they are a straight 40% off. Those shoes include, black and khaki moto boots that are about $1000 from $1750 and a classic cap-toe with a wooden patterned leather is about $600 from $995. Pictures of the entire sale selection are right this way.

Unfortunatly, there wasn’t a another markdown given to Chanel clothing. There are still plenty of great items but the discount is frozen at 40%. Across the way from the Chanel “shop”, is a great selection of Sonia Rykiel clothing that is 75% off. A red knit cardigan is about $250 from $940 and a dress with sequined lips (perfect for Valentine’s day) is just about $60. A top with lips comes to just $50. Here are pics of the sale merchandise.

If you’re shopping online you can save an extra 20% off already reduced shoes with the code SHOES. Frankly, the online sales aren’t very good but there are a few second markdowns, like these Genetic jeans that come to $95 from $195.

The Hottest Spring Accessories at 20% Off

After shopping amazing winter sales, it’s hard to digest paying full price for anything. We agree, it’s hard. Sometimes, however, there are items so hot that your sensibilities are compromised. Forzieri has just the right incentive to make buying now make sense.

The European luxury retailer is offering customers 20% off spring purchases. The best part is that there are no exclusions, which means that you can apply the discount to the new collection of Valentino, Fendi and Saint Laurent. Use the code CUPIDWEEK at checkout to engage the discount. The discount does expire on February 18th.

If you can resist the shinny new collections, certainly head over to the sale section where the discounts are up to 60% and an additional 20% discount with the code EXTRA20VIP.

    Farfetch Discounts top 70%

Farfetch is known for bringing the world’s most popular fashion boutiques, local and emerging designers, and brands to a single website. It almost makes us sad that we can shop our favorite Italian boutiques right here in New York. Some might say it takes away the adventure but it’s realistic to think that anyone can hop on a plane several times a year and great each new collection from their favorite stores.

One of the other great things about Farfetch is that it makes markdowns available globally. Right now, the site is offering an additional 20% off all discounted merchandise. Just use the code x20feb15 at checkout. That means that you can find unbelievable items on sale from 26 different countries.

We’ve never seen this Moschino Shift dress with a quilted bag that’s from Julian Fashion, in Milano, Italy. Then there is this check quilted jacket by Fey from the boutique Eraldo in Ceggia, Italy, which is about $444 from $1556. Here’s a floral print Marni blouse from the Parisian boutique, L’Eclaireur. Luxembourg-based Smets has this Kenzo print dress that comes to $310 from almost $900.

One thing that we’ve noticed is that many American brands are more expensive when sold from foreign stores. We suppose that’s what happens when you pay duty twice. Speaking of which, all prices include duty and returns are free for 14 days after your purchase is received.

What’s even cooler, is that Farfetch has click-and-collect service, which allows customers to purchase items online, then pick them up from any of 100 boutiques around the world. Best part, there are no associated shipping charges that can easily become expensive.

This sale runs through Saturday, Feb 7th at 9am GMT. The last additional discount was the beginning of December but the discounts weren’t as good as they are now. It’s hard to predict global online markdowns but it’s an awful fun learning.

    Valentine’s Day Gift Guide

Valentine’s Day always feels like a hugely manufactured holiday that is maintained by the restaurant and flower lobby. Truth be told it is a welcomed ray of sunlight admist the gray gloom and slush of February.

In our opinion, Valentines Day doesn’t require a huge grand gesture but rather something sweet and thoughtful. However, we don’t know a girl who would turn down anything from Lorraine Schwartz. Below are some of our favorite gift ideas for him and her.

    Intermix 25% Off Single Item

This isn’t the ideal time of year to shop for Spring. There are very few promotions, and well, it’s still quite cold. Sometimes, however, a single item gnaws at your shopping sensibilities. Thankfully we have a lucky online shopping code for Intermix, which can be perfect to apply towards your Fashion Week wardrobe.

You can save 25% off a single, full price, item by using the code BDFEB15. Take note, this promotion is only for online shopping and there are some exclusions. Moncler 40% Off

Every winter we receive dozens of email asking about scoring Moncler jackets and coats on sale. Truth be told there is a small window of time to capture the luxury puffer for a discount but you have to work fast.

Right now, Bergdorf Goodman has a small selection of basic Moncler puffers and more fashion forward Gemme Rouge styles. A basic-style with chevron stitching in purple or blue are $740 from $1240. A print Gemma Rouge with a funnel collar is $1100 from $1830 and a shiny diamond stitch style is $779 from $1295. There are also several styles of jackets and coats made of leather but that almost seems to defeat the purpose. You can see pics of all the aforementioned Monclers over here.

Chances are that there are some Monclers on sale at Barneys too but sales people are not likely to verify any information be phone. Remember, Moncler sale season is very short. If you don’t score one now, you can always try the outlet at Woodbury Common.

    Blue $740
    Purple $740
    Prada $830

    Ralph Lauren Ricky’s 50% Off

The discount at Ralph Lauren has taken another turn south. The discount is now up to 75% off and there are lots of items that aren’t often on sale.

Over here is a basic black or brown small Ricky tote for $979 from $1950 and the large size is $1129 from $2250. Sexy over the knee boots are $474 from $1500 and a Blue Label cashmere shawl sweater is $219 from almost $1000.

You should take note that the new markdown just started today and this classic merchandise will not stick around for long. The final Ralph Lauren markdown is usually 80% but it’s usually hard to find many items that are desirable.

You Must Be Kidding: Roger Vivier’s $70k Bag

Last week we received the following email from a sales person from Roger Vivier:

“We just received ONE handbag today, and it requests special attention.
It is a limited edition from our SS2015 (Rendez-Vous), the bag made very beautiful black and white color crocodile skin, with brick-color leather lining inside. Retail at $69,400. That’s correct, $69,400!!” exclaims a Roger Vivier sales person.

Even the sales person’s explanation points and reiteration of the price suggest the ridiculousness of the product.

She continues, “The most expensive bag yet. We have at Roger Vivier, only one unit in the USA. The 2nd photo is a close-up of the skin front and back. The dimension is 12”H x 12.5”L x 5”W.

Hermes has proved that there is a market for handbags that sell for over $100,000. Finding a sucker to shell out $70k on this bag of questionable design is far less likely.  Vivier has no secondary-market track record on products at their price point.

Lets take a vote of hands: Who here would spend $75,559.25 (including New York sales tax) on this Roger Vivier purse? Next Question: Who would want the bag for 90% off?
