For the second time this month, Shopbop is offering shoppers an extra 25% off sale merchandise. Use the code TREATYOURSELF when checking out to engage the additional discount.
The Aquazzura shoe selection is exceptionally good with an initial discount of 60%. These suede booties and lace-up open, toe booties are both about 75% off after using the promotion code. If you’ve got a body you should absolutely rock this Muglar dress for New Years ($1800 from $6000). After all, you’ve invested enough at the gym.
Perhaps this Mira Mikati handprinted denim jacket is more wearable and a safer purchase at about $400 from $1335. If you haven’t added embroidered jeans to your wardrobe this year, it’s not too late. We love these 3×1 wide-leg version that are $180 from $625.
The promotion runs through Wednesday. Just like 2016, it’s all over at the strike of midnight. That’s midnight Pacific Time, which gives us East Coasters a few extra hours to shop for the perfect New Years ensemble.
Black Friday is for the amateurs. Real shoppers sharpen elbows for the day after Christmas. It’s the time of year where you can still find a rather good selection of merchandise that’s highly discounted. Over the course of the week you’ll also find great opportunities to pounce on hard-to-find items that may get returned.
Below are some of our favorite post-Christmas shopping destinations. Share your favorites in the comment section below:
2. Barneys New York
Barneys still has better markdown opportunities than their competitors. Shortly, the store will begin to lose its competitive edge as other stores reduce accessories and shoes past 60%. The biggest Barneys advantage is their fashion lusty inventory. As an added incentive, our New York favorite is offering an additional 10% off sale prices, which brings the final discount to about 65% off. A Saint Laurent ruffled and tulle dress is $890 from $2500, a blazer from The Row comes to $1500 from $4100, Acne ankle boots are just $290 from $800 and a Frame jeans are $80 from $230.
5. Manolo Blahnik
Manolo Blahnik usually starts their first markdown immediately after New Years. The discount is normally 33% off but if you can wait three weeks, prices get slashed to 50%. Then, right when you think your winter blues can’t get any worse, Manolo starts their February clearance sale where shoes are discounted up to 75% off.
5. Ralph Lauren
When Ralph Lauren slashes over 70% off we’ve been known to raid the Rhinelander Mansion for cashmere sweaters for loved ones and ourselves. The best part is that most of the leftover men’s stock is a size XS, which is just perfect for you. Just be careful, prices in the store don’t always match up online. So you might be better off just staying at home and shopping online. Right now, online shoppers can save an additional 30% off already reduced merchandise.
Saks Fifth Avenue, finally, started a markdown on shoes that we can shop on. The standing discount was 40% but many styles are now an additional 20% off. The total savings is now about 50% on many brands.
The fine print says that prices will return to the 40% discount at the conclusion of business on December 24. We all know once stores open after Christmas, the discount may even be less. Just watch out for items with low stock.
The holiday season has peaked, plateaued, spun out of control, landed on the sun and … died. We get it and we are done. No more attitudes. Enough demands. It’s time to turn away, throw your arms akimbo and demand the focus be put on you.
We are thinking spa days, facial masks and exuberant indulgences that warm your own heart. Here are a few self-gift ideas to help you recover from the madness. After all, if you’re not happy … nobody is happy.
1. Grab a bottle of Perrier-Jouët and set it on ice in this ultra chic Resin Champagne Bucket ($215)
Retailers are fighting for those last end-of-season customers and Barneys has taken an unprecedented step of offering customers an extra 10% off sale items. The designer discounts are already 60% and the extra discount brings the total savings to 65% off original prices.
Take note, free holiday shipping from Barneys ends today. Buy it now if you want delivery before the weekend or you’ll end jump blowing your savings on shipping fees.
The holiday shopping season is quickly coming to a crescendo. Online shopping has been complicated by the fact that Christmas starts on Sunday. Those waiting until the very last minute will have to use a messenger or pay for Saturday delivery. The hours to take advantage of shipping is ticking away quickly.
As a special note, Uber Rush has been a life-changer. We usually pay between $6 and $12 to have packages picked up and hand delivered throughout much of the city. Many stores and boutiques though out the city also offer messenger services. Prices tend to range from $15 to $30. Some stores will wave the fee for expensive purchases.

Neiman Marcus has never hosted a friends and family sale but there is no time like the present. Right now, shoppers can save 20% off a selection of full price items. Use the code FRIENDME to engage the discount.
Among the shoes, you can apply the discount to Manolo Blahnik . We suggest you use this opportunity to snag your favorite style Hangisi, which often don’t go on sale in the full assortment of colors and hight options.
Although this friends & family promotion is novel, Neiman Marcus is boasting major sale discounts. Right now, the designer markdown is 55% off plus an additional 25%, which brings the total savings so 65% off. Tom Ford leather pants are $900 from $2400, Laurence Dacade studded ankle boots are about $400 from $1400 and an Edie Parket clutch is $850 from $1700.
All these items would make amazing gift options too!
We know that you are at least slightly tech competent if you’re a blog reader. Techie gifts used to be geared towards men but women enjoy modernization as much as the next guy. This holiday season there is a full corp of wanna-try and must have techie and travel items. Below is a compilation of some of our favorites.
1. If you updated your iPhone to a 7, chances are you miss using your favorite headphones. Without a headphone jack we’ve been forced to experiment with bluetooth speakers but many of us just want old pair back. If this is the case, there is the Mpow’s Bluetooth Adaptor, a nifty little attachment that bridges the gap between your bluetooth device and your favorite plug-in. The beat part is that it’s just $32 and can be used with any speaker.
2. Everyone has a thing for Alexa these days. The Echo Dot is Amazon’s award winning smart hands-free, voice-controlled device that plays music, controls smart home devices, provides information on demand, reads the news, sets alarms and cooks dinner. (Just kidding about the last feature.) Basically, for $40 you can have a fantastic speaker and order your Prime items just by vocalizing your order. (Be careful of the kids getting wind of this feature!)
3. Okay, the Rimowa Salsa is just a suitcase. It won’t even charge your phone but it looks great and you can pack all your techie gear inside. As a packing tip, we always take a large bag and a smaller one. Spreading your belongings among two cases will assure that you’re never overweight. We especially like the combination of the 29″ with the 26″. Take note, Louis Vuitton purchased the Rimowa brand earlier this year and we wouldn’t be surprised if prices began to quickly rise.
4. There are a lot of things we put on a pedestal. So why shouldn’t your phone charge on a marble base? The Native Union marble iPhone charger ($130) looks super chic on a kitchen counter and assures you don’t drop your phone in the sink.
5. We all know that New York winters are brutal. The lack of sunshine only makes the sub-zero temperatures even more unbearable. Many people find that mornings are a lot easier with gradual natural light rousing you from your sleep. The Verily Rise & Shine( $49) allows you to choose your light level, slumber sounds and will help you count down the days to Spring.
