Inside the Bonpoint Sample Sale (Inside Pics)

The Bonpoint sample sale has become a status symbol among New York City moms. Social rank is closely correlated with how early you’re given VIP access. Usually, the earliest VIP slots are given to celebrities, press and uber-VIP shoppers. Those are the moms who spend more than $100,000 a year buying $100 onesies. During past years, Kelly Ripa and Nicki Hilton were among the most recognizable NYC moms given early access.

This afternoon, we were among the first shoppers to enter the sale. (Do you think that can be used to get into Le Chalet on a Wednesday night?) The early morning hours on Tuesday will continue as some variation of VIP until the sale opens to the general public at 1pm. There are normally long-ish lines once the sale opens to the public but nothing like the Jimmy Choo sale.

Bonpoint sample sale alumni will identify this year’s sale as standard fare. Most of the merchandise is from the 2018 Summer’s collection. Most items are reduced 60% off the retail sticker. Other items like shoes, pullover sweaters, and pants are reduced by 70%.

More formal style dresses are normally priced in the $300-range and come to $120-ish. More casual dresses are about $80 from an original price of $200 at the boutique. Boy’s trousers are about $60 from $150 and the collared shirts come to $48 from $120. You can click here to see pictures we snapped from inside the Bonpoint sample sale.

Sorting through the clothing, there is almost something for everyone– spanning from the tiniest newborns to tweens. The slimmest inventory is usually size 2, but this evening’s twos selection was plentiful. We can’t promise it will stay like that for very long.

The sale also includes accessories, swim, sunhats, blanks, summer sweaters, and pajamas. Most shoppers were loading bags of merchandise. We suggest that Bonpoint shoppers use their connections to gain VIP access. Really, who has time for Soho House anyway?

    Post-Mother’s Day: Celebrate Yourself

As Mother’s Day comes to a close, it’s nice to look back and appreciate all the sweet notes, kisses and love that goes into making an ordinary Sunday so special. It’s also the right time to take a deep breath and, finally, relax.

In many ways, Mother’s Day is much more work than an ordinary Sunday. There’s the extra early wake-up call from excited children, navigating a messy breakfast in bed, fawning over questionable gifts and entertaining your own mothers and grandmothers. Mother’s Day is as much about making the rest of the family happy as it is honoring motherhood.

Now is the perfect time to celebrate your own motherhood and all the work and love you selflessly provide. It’s also not a bad time to start browsing TheOutnet’s clearance sale. You can save an extra 30% off already highly reduced merchandise.

We found lots of dresses that are perfect for the transition from Summer in the city to weekends at the beach. We love this shirtdress from Tome that comes to about $250 from $900, this Milly dress comes to $170, a classic Rocksanda bell sleeve dress is $460 from $1730, and this Zimmerman floral print dress is $280 from $400.

The sale only runs through Monday, which is just enough time to do some recovery shopping. We aren’t suggesting you go nuts but you certainly need a pat on the back.

Saks Kicks Off Sale Season 40% Off (In-store Pics)

There have a been a lot of early sales this season but there haven’t been many designers included in the discounted assortment. Saks Fifth Avenue is making an early push to attract customers with a ‘Sneak Peek’ sale, which offers customers up to 40% off many designer shoes, bags and clothing.

Among the notable inclusions are various pieces of Valentino, Manolo Blahnik, Chloe, Ferragamo and more. We were actually very impressed by the online selection and our curiosity drove us down to the flagship. (We have lots of pictures from the store posted in the jump.)

Unless you’re looking for a discounted Valentino bag, you will probably be better off saving the Uber ride and shopping from the online store. Manolo Hangisi heels are available for 30% off or $700 from $1000. Online they are available in green and at the store, we spotted them in a rose color. We also found these floral slingbacks for $280 from $700. Valentino Rockstud cage pumps are $430 from $1075,  Nicholas Kirkwood pearl sandals are $556 from $800 and Aquazzura mules are $600 from $850.

The designer collections included in the early markdown are limited but we were surprised to see Brandon Maxwell, Jacquemus and Attico. This Jacquemus blazer is $670 from $800, an MSGM mini-dress is $230 from $580, and this silk floral print dress from Banjanan is $230 from $385.

This early season sale only runs through Sunday. The real markdowns of all designer merchandise will take place later this month.

Moda Operandi Private Sale 25% Off

Another May day, another private sale. Today, you can join us using this link to save 25% off your purchase on Moda Operandi. Just remember to enter the code SECRET25 at checkout.

Upon scouring the site we found ourselves falling in love with way too many pieces in this sale.  Yes, a Balmain tee and a Dior tote are on-point for this season and very swaggy but they don’t allow a lot of room for personal style expression. We found the fashion assortment, this season, on Moda to be diverse and even affordable.

We are crazy for these linen wide-leg pants from All Things Mochi and they come to about $260 from $355 and  this strapless top from Lake Studio is another big winner for $340 from $455. We are also crazy for this Dorothee Schumacher blazer is $675 from $900 or this rafia and ebroidered tote from Aranaz is $225 from $300.

It’s hard to get an idea of how great these items are without pictures. Below is a visual candy bar of just some of our favorite Moda items in the Private Sale.

    FarFetch Private Sale 50% Off

Farfetch launched a private sale today where discounts top 50% off on new season merchandise. You can click here and log-in to access the discounts.

The sale includes a large assortment of Off-White that’s discounted 50% off.  A logo sports bra is $180 from $360, platform sandals are about $300 from $600, the industrial logo belt is $135 from $270, and a beach bag with horizontal stripes comes to $410. Lots of Staud bags are also discounted by 50%. This one is our favorite and comes to just over $100.

Other sale standouts include a Jacquemus oversized tote that’s reduced 40% off and comes to $766 from $1276. This Balmain tee is also reduced by 40% and it comes to $200. Manolo Hangisi heels are $615, a See by Chloe denim top is $180 and Neous sandals are $240 from $480.

If this sale is any indication, this is going to be a bonkers markdown season. It also looks as if the Off-White lead streetwear craze is quickly coming to an end. Our crystal ball is showing lots of hoodies on a sales rack near you.

    Bergdorf Goodman First “Designer” Markdown

We are trying to make sense of the markdown calendar but it appears as if Bergdorf Goodman has a designer sale scheduled every week this month. Today is an “early access” day and you can check it out using this link.

Discounts range up to 40% off but most of the sale isn’t really “designer.” Some of the items that caught our eye were this Andrew Gn jacquard shift dress that’s $1440 from $2400, an MSGM convertible shirt dress that’s $380 from $635, and this ALC pleated maxi skirt is $300 from $500.

This pseudo-designer sale will run through May 11. After there’s another contemporary designer markdown and the real designer discounts will go live on May 20. That’s when the real fun shopping will begin.

    Barneys Private Designer Presale

It’s only the first Monday in May, otherwise known as MetGala Day, but Barneys isn’t going to let BagGirlRiri, Anna, Donatella or any Camp kids steal the fashion show. Today, Barneys started a VIP seasonal online presale. The discount is 40% off select merchandise.

To access the sale section you must use this link and log into your account. Presales are akin to the “quiet period” before a company goes public. Good thing there are no rules about taking advantage of inside shopping information.

Take note, this isn’t the “true” first markdown but there is still an interesting selection from which to browse. Over this way, we found, Loefler Randall gingham slide sandals for $119 from $200, Gianvitto Rossi ankle wrap sandals are $420 from $700, Walter de Silva mesh heels are $540 from $900 and a pair of Golden Goose sneakers are $340 from $565.

Among the clothing, we found a track jacket from Palm Angles for $330 from $550, an Altazzura tie-dye dress is $1100 from $1850 and the sweater is $570 from $950. This classic print Versace silk wrap dress $1770 from $3000.

We realize this isn’t the real first presale or markdown but it’s always exciting to see a sale section. The first markdown presale usually starts around May 16th. You can click over this way to see all the information about presale at Barneys last Spring.
