    Loehmann’s Helps Fight Ovarian Cancer

On Thursday March 26th, Loehmann’s is sponsoring the Fashion Funds for Hope event in all stores across the nation. Give a $5 donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at the register and you get 15% off.

The $5 donation plus 5% of the proceeds from that day go to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. We have friends working at the event in the Chelsea store in the evening. Take a spin by, say hello, spend some money, save some money, pray for a cure.

    Bloomingdales and Saks Updates

A Mad-Spy reader writes us that the Bloomingdales sale is better than we were told:

“It’s actually for every $100 you get $25 off your overall purchase. Plus 20% off almost anything on the second floor and 40% off already reduced merch. Just an FYI I was there last night!”

Another fan scouted Saks today and says:

I got a great free mani pedi but there’s nothing on sale.

    Bloomingdales “Private Sale”

Bloomingdales is hosting a “private sale” from March 31st to April 2nd. We have no idea why the sale is being called private because the incentive isn’t even great. For every $100 you spend you get a $15 gift card. Presale started today.

The difference between the Saks gift card incentive and Bloomingdales is that Bloomies gives you the gift card for big designer names like Chanel. Lets see how much longer that lasts. Good incentives never last long.

    Saks EGC

Saks is really pushing these electronic gift cards. (The last one was March 4th.) Too bad the gift amounts keep going down and the restriction list keeps getting longer. The one day event is Thursday, March 26 and coincides with triple points. Nothing Chanel-Louboutin-Prada-like is included.

The levels are below but we think you’re better off waiting to make your purchase during the Saks Friends and Family sale, which is scheduled for April 30th to May 2nd.

    Electronic Gift Card Values

    Spend some… Get some…
    $250 to $499… $25
    $500 to $999… $50
    $1000 to $1999… $100
    $2000 to $2999… $300
    $3000+ … $450

    Hermes Sample Sale

It’s that time of year again…

    Hermes Sample Sale
    When: 3/25/09-3/28/09 Wed-Sat 10am-6pm Thur until 8pm
Where:: The Metropolitan Pavilion 123 West 18th Street (btwn 6th & 7th ave)

Past experience has told us that the lines are long. Very long. The best merchandise is the silk ties and scarves. Do not expect to find Birkin Bags, Kelly Bags, or any of the leather “must haves.” Past sales have included many canvas bag styles but nothing worth waiting on a three hour line.

YSL 90% Off at Saks Jandel

We are hearing on-line rumblings that the Saks Jandel– Not to be confused with Saks Fifth Avenue– is discontinuing their YSL department. Spies say that the sale is up to 90% off with bags and shoes 50% off.

We know nothing about the store expept that it’s is independently owned by the Marx family of Washington and it’s located in Chevy Chase, MD. Here’s the phone number if you would like to place an order: (301) 652-2250

    Michael Kors Sample Sale

At this point I think everyone and their grandmother has sent us a link or an email forward of the Michael Kors sample sale. Even Peachy Deegan, of Whom You Know, was sending us a code red fashion alert.

So the day came and Racked published the details, “a solid 75% off of everything still means Kors’ $1,595 dresses are $399.” A steal, nah.

The $399 price tag is steep but we have a bigger problem with the 75% off. Three days after Christmas the boutique prices were 70% off. There is no way that a sample sale experience is worth the 5% difference.

The sale runs through Saturday — more details below– we suggest you wait until then if you’re really dying for some MK. Maybe they will do another markdown for the last day?!

    Where:
    Metropolitan Pavilion
    125 W 18th St
    (b/n 6th and 7th aves)

    Friends and Family Day:

Free Stay at the Wynn or Encore

Today’s weather was gorgeous– but it’s March –and it’s back to being cold tomorrow. This is the time of year that we all really become intolerant of the cold. It’s enough! And it’s been a long winter. Isn’t it the perfect time to head out on for a mini-holiday, as they would call it in the UK.

Airfares are cheap and the Las Vegas Wynn and Encore hotels are enticing guests with two free nights. Dan’s Deals promises that there are no strings attached. No minimum stay. No hidden fees. All you need to do is use your American Express Platinum Card or Centurion Card and pay the normal room tax, which runs $25 a night. The offer runs until April 25th and there are several black out dates, which are listed below.

The Wynn is the world’s most expensive resort, topping out at $2.7 Billion in construction fees. The Encore, which opened just two months ago, is the sister multi-billion dollar tower built just adjacent to the Wynn. Friends have used the promotion to coordinate long weekends by booking two nights at the Wynn and another two at the Encore.

Your Platinum travel concierge should easily be able to hook you up. If asked, the promotion ID number is E1320401. You should even be entitled to your normal Platinum/Centurion privileges, which includes a free breakfast and dinner.

    Here are the blackout dates:
    03/05-03/07
    03/19-03/21
    03/23-03/24
    03/27-03/28
    03/31-04/02
    04/15-04/21
