    Robert Marc Sale

The high-end optical store, Robert Marc is starting their summer sale. Handmade corrective glasses and sunglasses for men and women will be 40% to 50% off.

Robert Marc glasses are both fashionable and high quality. The best part is that there are no obnoxious logos. Faithful customers include, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Julianne Moore, Uma Thurman and Matt Damon. Prices start at about $400 and work their way up to very expensive. In addition to the house imprint, Robert Marc stores carry hard-to-find brands like Lunor and Retrospecs.

In our case, it’s always when the sale ends that we realize we need new glasses. So if you’re optically challenged, this is truly a good opportunity for eyewear rebanding.

    Saks Consolidation Sale

    By ManhattanMataHari

It’s that time of year again! All of the designer leftovers from Saks Fifth Avenue stores on the east coast have migrated to the 9th floor of the Fifth Avenue flagship store. The discount is now a steep 70% discount. Internet shoppers can find similar deals online but just don’t expect the same variety of high-end designers.

Currently, the most plentiful racks include Ralph Lauren Black Label, Piazza Sempione, St. John’s, Escada, Carolina Herrera, Reed Krakoff, MaxMara, and TSE. Other designers with dedicated sale racks include Stella McCartney, Brunello Cucinello, Donna Karen and Oscar de la Renta. Designers mixed in among other racks include limited sizes of Dolce & Gabbana, Chloe, Jason Wu, Yves Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen.

During a quick browse we found an Oscar dress for $337, a McQueen dress for $418 and a Dolce & Gabbana tweed pencil skirt for just $188. In addition, we found lots of exquisite evening wear including, a tailored black Valentino cocktail dress that is now $777 and a unique embellished Monique Lhuillier number for $641.

Unfortunately, cloths from Missoni, Pucci, Herve Leger, Dior, Fendi and Chanel were either all sold out or excluded from the additional markdown. If you don’t see anything you like this week, we suggest you keep checking back. Shipments from other stores are still en route.

Before heading out you may want to take a spin through the 8th floor shoe department. Shoes aren’t technically included in the consolidation sale, but the markdown is currently 60% and includes Christian Louboutin and Chanel. We found it hard to resist a pair of brown suede Brian Atwood Maniac-esque Power platform pumps for $229 and Gucci Sigourney studded sandals for $318.

This is an ideal time to stock up on summer clothing to get you through the rest of the season. If you’re already well stocked you you can always save your new buys for cruise.

    Manolo Blahnik Summer Sale

The Manolo Blahnik sale is starting Monday. The savings will be 50% off the spring and summer collection and will include some alligator styles.

As far as markdowns go, the department stores are serving up better discounts. Just dont expect to find any of the more interesting styles in Bergodorf or Saks.

Although the boutique summer sale doesn’t go to 75% off like in February, it is still a big crowd pleaser. The first days of the sale are usually pretty sane but by Friday shoppers can expect lines to get into the boutique.

    Manolo Blahnik
    31 West 54th Street

    Monday-Friday 10:30AM-6PM, Sat 10:30- 6PM, Sun 12pm-5pm
The boutique will close from 2pm to 3pm to restock

    Bergdorf’s Second Cut

Bergdorf Goodman has taken another round of markdowns and we couldn’t wait to shop our way though all the discounted merchandise. Discounts throughout the entire store range from 40% to 60% off, with the best deals being found in the ready-to-wear department.

We spotted a Dior print dress for $960 reduced from $2600, a bright yellow Jil Sander tunic is $338 from $845, a classic Prada dress is now $318 from $795 and a Proenza Schouler dress was reduced to $390 from $975. The only exceptions to the 60% discount rule were Chanel and The Row which remained 40% off.

Heading over to a store highlight—shoes—we were encouraged to see that a second markdown had been taken, bringing the discount to about 60% off. Christian Louboutin and Chanel are the lone holdouts by only offering 40% off. Best to go to Bloomingdales for discount Chanels.

You might be out of luck if your plan was to hold out for the perfect first floor bag. Unfortunately the majority of the sale handbags are sold out. We did, however, find Stella McCartney’s beloved Falabella totes in a cream or black crochet knit marked down 55% to $969.

    Mauboussin Celebrates Bastille Day

We usually don’t need a reason to shop for jewelry but when handed a reason on a silver–sorry, diamond– platter we just can’t resist. Mauboussin is making jewelry shopping virtually irresistible buy giving us a celebratory excuse and a discount.

In honor of Bastille Day, Mauboussin is serving guests macaroons and champagne and offering shoppers a symbolic 17.89% discount, at the Madison Avenue boutique. The discount is only available through Bastille Day (Thursday, July 14th) and includes the store’s entire inventory excluding the Le Premier Jour, Petite Rose D’Amour and ALJSL collection watches.

And yes, we are absolutely sure that your croissant will taste better when wearing a Ma Princesse d’amour Ring. A’avez-vous pas d’accord?

    Michael Kors Mega Sale

    By TJKennedy

There’s something about being in the Michael Kors boutique that makes you want to be laying on a beach alongside the shirtless, all-American muse, Noah Mills. Maybe it’s all the life size portraits of him, maybe it’s the heat, or maybe… it’s all the spring and summer clothing marked down 70%. Almost the entire second floor of the Madison Ave boutique is included in the sale, except a few unfortunate handbags. Otherwise all shoes, belts, jewelry, clothing, and swimwear are included.

The shoes may be one of the most exciting aspects of the sale, considering that there are some year-round wearable black and nude pumps marked down around $160. All the sandals are also discounted and available in several styles, while most shoes were black, brown, and neutral leather: classic Michael Kors. Not to mention a ton of bright colored cocktail dresses, tops, and light colored pants on the other side. Even a few floor length strapless gowns were in the mix!

Unfortunately, the swimwear and jewelry is the most disappointing with only one style strapless swimsuit in large sizes; however, there were several color options to choose from. Similarly, the jewelry only consisted of a few select gold and silver chain necklaces and signature watches were downstairs in a covetable case. Even still, with so many items discounted, you’re sure to find something Hamptons-worthy to help you hook a hunk like Noah.

    Lanvin’s 2nd Markdown

Lanvin has started their second markdown. The discount is now 50% off and everything from the spring and summer collections are included except for snake skin bags.

The first floor of the Madison Avenue Lanvin boutique is now filled with the newest fall collection but the entire second floor is dedicated to sale items. There is still an abundance of merchandise from which to choose. It’s just hard to pick one place to concentrate your energy and money.

We suggest purchasing an item that cannot be found in other boutiques or department stores. Perhaps an interesting necklace or ready-to-wear. We especially like a brass necklace with oversized rings, which was originally $1855 or a lame t-shirt with an embroidered heart is now $1290.

As you can see, most items are still very pricey. It is Lanvin, after all. Bargain shoppers can still snag items from the H&M collaboration on eBay.
