Amuze Gucci Sale Starts at Noon

The online discounter runs weekly flash sales of some of our favorite designers. The best part is the prices, most of which are 80% off retail.

Last week, the site ran a sale of amazing Valentino products. The sale had Rockstud shoes for $275 from $845. Another sale consisted of perfect gifts for both men and women. A men’s Brunello Cucinelli sweater was $350 from $1200 and Gucci croc shoes were $395 from $895. In the women’s sale there were Tom Ford slingback for $285 from $1114 and a $4290 Valentino dress marked down to $850.

This week, starting Monday at noon, the site will post a sale consisting of fabulous Gucci items. Shoppers can choose from an assortment of the brand’s most popular clothing, shoes and bags. All pries are up to 80% off retail. That means that you can afford to indulge your normally jealous sister with a similar pair you bought for yourself.

Seems good? We agree, but there’s even a better deal for you. Madison Avenue Spy readers can use the code “bemerry” at checkout and receive $25 off your purchase. Shop quickly because the sale will end on at noon on December 25. All orders submitted by Friday, December 20 will arrive in time for Christmas.

eBay Gift Ideas: Hostess, Kids and Art Books

While we love shopping, buying gifts for what feels like every human we’ve ever met can get overwhelming. Actually, it’s mind numbing. How many times can a 6-year-old tell you that the only thing she wants for Christmas is to be on Dance Moms?

Don’t worry, I’m not indulgent, delusional or sadistic enough to start tracking down Abby Lee, in Pittsburg. Instead, I shopped eBay and created collections of gift ideas for everyone you can imagine. For my imaginative 7-year-old I found a great spiky backpack, a Lisa Perry dress, a Crayola Marker Airbrush Set and Rainbow loom, of course.

My eBay collections also include gift ideas for a hostess. I was able to find a Faberge crystal champagne bucket (in the case you’re invited to St. Barths for the week), a Hermes cashmere throw, a backgammon set and a Missoni/Target espresso set. The collection I curated for the fashionable bookworm has an assortment of wonderful art books from great fashion houses like Dior, Louis Vuitton and Prada.

We all know, eBay has just about everything anyone can want. All you need is a bit of inspiration and guidance. I hope you will take some time to explore the inspiring collections I made and follow MadisonAveSpy on eBay as I create more. #eBayCollection and #FollowItFindIt.

    Kirna Zabete 60% Off

The sale at Kirna Zabete, Soho’s swankiest multi-brand boutique, is running their semi-annual sale. The site says that discounts are up to 50% off but we found lots of merchandise discounted 60%. Discounts aside, the best part is that KZ has a great assortment of discounted inventory that may not be on sale at all at your local department store.

For the unfamiliar, a quick browse of the Kirna Zabete site will have you falling in love with this downtown gem. Take this Givenchy American Dream Sweatshirt is $962 from $1375 but it’s still full price at most department stores.

While browsing, we came upon a collection of Thakoon and Erdem items that are discounted 60%. This Thakoon lace floral top is $396 from $990 and Erdem floral blouse is $445 from $1111. This fabulous Giambattista Valli mink collard coat is $1915 from $4780 along with Proenza Schouler Tiny PS!! $985 from $1645.

The next markdown is usually to 60% but we would try to take advantage of the extra markdowns on the site right now.

    Inspiring Holiday Gift Guides

We are in the thick of holiday shopping season and finding the right gift for everyone on our list is never easy. A bit of inspiration is just what the doctor ordered. To spark ideas for great presents, I recently curated several Gift Guide collections on eBay.

All of my collections are based on a real shopping list and gifts that I have purchased or plan on purchasing. One of my collections was inspired by my husband. I included everything from the hottest new tennis racket to my favorite brand of athletic earbuds. (You know, the kind that really stay in your ears when you’re running a 6-minute mile.) The collection also includes, a dream novelty watch from de Grisogono and a deco gold lighter from S.T. Dupont Ligne.

In another collection I curated an assortment of items perfect for my 30-something sister, which ranges from a Fendi 2Jours bag to a Beautyblender–the newest must-have cosmetic accessory. A collation of gifts for my 9-year-old daughter’s has a vintage lava lamp and knitting machine.

Insider Sale Begins at Christan Louboutin

Missed out on the Christian Louboutin sample sale this season? Fret not, the Madison Avenue (and soho) boutique started their markdown today for “insiders”. The discount is a solid 40%, which is a larger savings than most of the department stores. Expect to find an assortment of handbags and fashion shoes (no classic colors or styles) from the Fall/Winter 2013 collection.

If the past is any indication, there will be a long line to get into the boutique and it will be busy. We suggest you avoid this by stopping by the store this week to buy your red-soled wish list since they will not be restocking.

Unfortunately, sales associates were unable to provide details on exactly what will be included, but naturally our spies got the inside info. Our intel suggests there will be some tall boots and popular Daffodils in fashion styles like leopard, rainbow, satin, crepe and pony. While you will be able to find some of the stacked front platforms marked down, the celeb-beloved Highness styles will not be included since they are considered classics. If you are coveting a specific style, we suggest calling ahead to see if it is included prior to making the trip.
