    Sephora End of Season Closeout Sale

    Sephora is clearing out brands and certain products as part of their end of season sale. Online and in some stores you will find cosmetics and beauty items reduced up to 70% off. The best part is that many of these sale items were holiday packages, which contain an assortment of playful items.

    During a quick browse we found a few items from the famed company Lorac reduced about 40%. Concealer is $21 from $28, pressed powder is $24 from $32, CC Cream is $21 from $28 and mascara is $15 from $20. Moving over to the beauty category, there are several holiday sets of scented soaps and scrubs from Philosophy. The Jolly Jelly Candy Set is $28 from $35. If you’re shopping for a tween, you can pair the Hello Kitty fragrance for $10 with a lipgloss/eyeshadow compact for $17 and place them in this adorable pochette for $13.

    If you’re looking for a serious upgrade for less, we suggest the Laura Mercier compact that’s $50 from $75. We have yet to buy an item from this brand that we haven’t loved. And then, it’s really hard to go wrong with $5 lip glosses or Nails Inc polishes for 5-bucks.

    We suggest loading up on whatever you like online and then bring back what you don’t like. After all, you need to take the product home and see it in real lighting before you get the true worth of it’s value.

    Schutz Winter Clearance Sale

    Schutz, the Brazilian footwear emporium, has quickly created a reputation for offering customers high fashion shoes at fast fashion prices. The boutique, which is across from Barneys and next door to Brian Atwood, is stocked with fashion forward shoe styles that are all priced very attractively. We like to describe the store as a footwear-only version of Zara.

    Most shoes are spiked and studded and are normally priced between $90 and $400 but it’s discount season and Schutz shoes are on sale. Right now most items are 50% off. While shoe shopping, we found Celine-like chunky heels for $90 from $180, snake print leather peep toe stripy heels are $150 from $300 and pointy toe pumps are $50 from $100.

    The store has undoubtedly made an impact on the Uptown budget shoe market. We just aren’t sure if inexpensive shoes will be anything more than inexpensive shoes. Take note, that the brand has an online store but shipping is $20, which seems exorbitant for shoes costing barely $100.

    Save the Date: Marni Sample Sale

    Marni is one of those designers that we love to love but find it hard to wear. In theory, the looks are great but in reality the fashion isn’t always flattering to the female body.

    In any event, Marni is hosting their first ever sample sale. The three day “stock sale” will begin on Tuesday, February 4th. The sale will include women’s accessories and clothing for men, women and children. The discounts will run up to 80% off.

    If waiting until mid-next week is too difficult, you can always shop over at The Outnet. The online discounter has a small assortment of Marni fashion and accessories priced up to 88% off. This silk print dress is about $500 from $1600 and over here is a classic necklace for $195 from $650. Bergdorf Goodman has a small selection of highly reduced Marni too. (Can someone explain why the Neiman Marcus site is more expensive?) A sleeveless black and white top is $172 from $690 and a print poplin dress is $381 from $1090.

    If you head over the the Marni boutique on Madison or online here, you can shop the entire winter collection for 50% off. We are keeping our fingers crossed that what’s left over from the season here is sent directly to the sample sale. We really wouldn’t mind an oversized coat or a minimalism style handbag.

    Costco Discounts Chanel 20%

    Over the past several weeks we’ve seen s steady stream of pristine Classic Chanel bags grazing the showcases of Costco, in Harlem. While Costco admits to selling gray market designer merchandise, it’s always a bit surprising to see a Jumbo classic not far from your industrial sized Bounty paper towel.

    Thie week, Costco’s designer showcase held a large size black Classic Flap with gold hardware in caviar leather. The price is $3700 from a retail price of $4400. That’s a savings of almost 20%. Last week, at the same Costco, we spotted the prettiest grey lambskin Jumbo Classic Flap with silver hardware for $4000 from a retail value of $4900. Again, that’s about a 20% discount.

    Some shoppers may turn up their nose from purchasing designer accessories at Costco but we would prefer to save $1000 and forgo the shopping bag. After all, anyone can shop for for Chanel, at Chanel. It’s a bit cliche, don’t you think?

    On the second hand market, Chanel Jumbos seem to sell for about $3000 and the large size normally sells for between $2000 and $2500, depending on the condition. When choosing between the discount price and preowned, we consider the new car smell, um bag, to be worth the premium. The best part is that Cocto’s return policy is a lot more customer friendly than Chanel.

    Take note, that not all Costco luxury accessories are priced as attractively. A Maxi Veneta from Bottega Veneta is priced at $2000 from a retail price of $2750. Seems like a nice savings but the Bottega outlet sells the same bag for $1800 and often has special discounts of an additional 20% off. Also, Costco priced a Balanciaga City 12  for $1400, while the full retail price is just $1345.

    Ralph Lauren Clearance 80% Off

    Ralph Lauren has started their winter clearance where most merchandise is reduced 70%. Online shoppers can use the code WARMUP20 and save an additional 20%, which brings the total savings to just about 80%.

    In most cases, the Ralph Lauren boutique will match the online prices but they may give you a problem trying to get the additional 20% off. In this instance it might just be easier to shop online.

    We have been crushing for this black and white leather jacket all season and it’s a relative bargain for $860 from the starting price of $3000. It shouldn’t be hard channeling the bygone years of Downton Abbey with this beaded v-front gown for $1440 from $5000. These cashmere fingerless gloves are a great find priced at  $71 from $400.

    On a more practical note, there’s this men’s large pony polo is $26 from $110. A cashmere cable knit sweater from the Purple Label is great for both him or her when priced at $287 from $1000. Men’s work/all-weater boots (perfect and not too ugly for the snow) are $57 from $179.

    The sale also includes kid’s clothing and home accessories. Just note, that home goods are only reduced 30%. You should take note that merchandise is selling rather quickly. We suggest not procrastinating on checkout. We had items sell out as they were in our shopping cart. And it’s always ironic how much more you “need” an item once you can’t have it.

    Manolo Blahnik Second Markdown 50% Off

    The streets are practically fully plowed and the streets are clear of traffic and congestion. What to do? Head over to Manolo Blahnik boutique’s second markdown. The sale started Monday but federal holidays and snow has kept the store quite and the inventory running practically at full stock.

    This most recent markdown follows the 33% discount but proceeds the final and best shopping opportunity of the season. The final markdown is always one of our favorite sales and normally occurs the first week of February. Prices range from $195 to $350. Most shoes and low boots– even highly ornate styles– are priced at $250.

    We took a quick browse through the boutique and fond the store to be rather quiet. There is a full assortment of shoes from the winter collection and many still have full size ranges.We are personally waiting make our major purchases in February! After all, it is the month of love.

    Cesare Paciotti 70% Off Friends and Family Sale

    There’s nothing like a great sale to motivate you to brave the snow drifts and leave your house. Good thing we have the perfect boutique occasion. Sexy French shoe designer, Cesare Paciotti (say: Pa-cho-tee), is hosting a friends and family sale where shoes, bags and accessories will be available at 70% off.

    The sale begins Wednesday, January 22 (snow-optimistic) and runs though Friday, January 24. The discount can only be applied when used at the brand’s three free-standing boutiques: Beverly Hills, Bal Harbor and Madison Avenue.

    Those who are travelly impaired can begin browsing the collection online here. We especially love the cuissard boot that are priced under $450 from $1460 and these ankle boots that are $411 from $1375– are both classic Paciotti.

    Just don’t expect to find any rain or snow boots here. The brand’s muse Carine Roitfeld never considers practically. After all, if your shoes never touch the pavement, the soles never get scuffed.

    DVF Final Markdown with Sample Sale Prices

    A season without a Diane von Furstenberg sample sale feels like leaving home without your favorite lipstick. Of course, a substitute will do, but the comforts of familiarity can aren’t easily substituted. Unfortunately, there are no upcoming dates to announce but the DVF is hosting a final sale online and prices aren’t far off from the iconic sample sale.

    Through the end of Monday, shoppers can use the code JANUARY20 and save an extra 20% off already reduced merchandise. The prices at the sample sale usually run $150 for classic wrap dresses, $125 for non-wrap dresses and $80 for sweaters. If you had this way, and use the extra 20% off, you can pay just $130 for this wing print dress. A print wrap dress, which comes in red or pink, comes to $146. The price is the same for this combo print wrap dress. This python print silk dress is $150 and this knit dress is $120.

    At the past sample sale, bags and accessories were a huge hit but they were still very pricey. Bags were priced at $285, clutches were $100 and scarves were $75. Online now, you can snag this studded bag (a la Valentino) for just $141 this snake-skin combo tote for $210. Most scarves, like this one, are $80.

    The best part of this sale is that there a no lines, no crowded fitting room and purchases are returnable. Unfortunately, we don’t usually come across sample sales with the same consumer friendly rules.
