35+ Pics From Inside Barneys 75% Off

This week Barneys took its third markdown bringing the potential savings to 75% off. The online discounts are the same but and we are very surprised to see that the online selection is so close to what’s available on Madison. Returns  on sale merchandise are accepted for 30-days after your purchase, which gives Barneys a big leg up over the final sale rules at Saks.

As as you contemplate leaving your well air-conditioned environment for the hot New York pavement, we scoured every cranny of the Barneys New York flagship store. After the jump we have more than 35 pictures of sale merchandise. Links are added to items that can also still be found online.

We started out hunt on the main floor where there are still a few bags left from the prior markdowns. The discount on most handbags is 60% off. We found this tropical print Proenza Schouler tote for $399 from $995, a Givenchy snakeskin clutch is still pricey at about $1440 from $3600 and an Alaia studded snakeskin shopper is $2349 from $7400. Generally, most of the bags that are still left were tremendously overpriced to begin with.

We also found a Cedric Charlier sleeveless top marked $279 (but the online price is $169) from almost $700.

Heading up to the fourth floor shoe collections, we were surprised to find so many racks of shoes. There is still an assortment of Chanel and Louboutin. Chanel shoes are all still only 40% off but some Louboutins are discounted 60%, like a pair with PVC with gold ornaments are $399 from $995 but snake skin flats are still $719 from $1200. Saint Laurent cap toe ballet flats are $179 from $445, Fendi strappy flat sandals are $299 from $750 and Givenchy block heel sandals are $399 from $995. Manolo Markdowns Begin

The Manolo Blahnik’s boutique sale is happily on its way. The savings are currently 30% off but in just days the markdown will go to will be 50%.

As far as sales go, the department stores are serving up better discounts. Just don’t expect to find any of the more interesting styles in Bergodorf or Saks.

Towards the end of the month, Manlolo adds a third “sticker” markdown where prices start at just $250. You can see our past overage of Manolo’s sticker sales here. We always prefer the boutique final markdown to the sample sale– at least you get a box with your shoes.

    Nordstrom’s 88-Page Anniversary Sale Catalogue

It appears as if New York shoppers are over Saks Fifth Avenue and their “no returns” sale and more than ready to embrace Nordstrom’s stellar customer service. While the countdown continues for the opening of Nordstrom on West 57th Street, we found the private link to the store’s famous Anniversary Sale.

The 88-page catalogue features highlights from fall fashion all offered at an early access discount. Take note, that most of the collection is exclusives that were made speficially for this pre-season promotion. Nordstom credit card holders can shop the pre-sale between July 10 and July 17, afterwards the sale opens to everyone. All prices go up on August 4, when the pre-season promotion ends.

You can click here to preview the entire catalogue won’t go online until later this week. Inside, we found gorgeous Stuart Weitzman boots for $340 going to $665 on page 18, on page 32 is a Halogen leather shift dress for $200 going to $400 and on page 54 there are about a dozen styles of Nike sneakers that are discounted about 30%. The Anniversary Sale also includes a large variety of beauty sets–like you find during the holiday season– from the likes of Jo Malone, Yves Saint Laurent, Laura Mercier and NARS.

Personally, we aren’t fond of shopping for sweaters while we are in swimsuits. This is an ideal sale for those who prefer to shop in the pre-season. Now, can someone pass the SPF 30?

    The Best Holiday Weekend Sale

July 4th might have passed but there’s still one more day to grab some great deals at our favorite online designer discount store, Amuze. The holiday sale boasts discounts up to 90% off of great designer merchandise from Valentino, Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, Prada, Gucci and more.

Check out these Saint Laurent pony Tribute sandals for $325, these Nicholas Kirkwood heels for $175, a Givenchy dress for $295 and a Valentino tote for $395. There is even a great selection of clothing from Baby Dior and Oscar de la Renta kids.

We couldn’t imagine anyone not loving all these discounts but it’s also good to know that Amuze allows returns for either store credit or refund (minus shipping, of course). But shop fast, these deals will disappear as quickly as a firework at midnight on Monday.

Inside What’s Left From Zara’s Sale

Nowadays you can shop for Zara anywhere in the world or anyplace with WiFi but insiders know that not all Zara stores are created equally. Our favorite Manhattan location is the mid-town Fifth Avenue store. This particular location is luxurious, has lots of inventory and has always has great limited edition merchandise.

When it’s time to shop Zara sale, there is no better place to go. If you’re looking for shoes we couldn’t recommend a better place. Most styles are priced between $39 and $69 from $70 to $120. We found lots of these leather and mesh high-heel shoe booties, these metal plate sandals and a variety of these white Birkenstishes. Styles not online, include lizard embossed slip-on-sneakers, pointy toe flats and black mesh heel-booties.

Most of the best looking bags are not on sale but we are rather fond of this perforated bucket bag for $99 from $139. Besides the bucket, there wasn’t anything remarkable.

Focusing on clothing, there is a lot. There are these lightweight coats in blue or yellow for $90 from $160, all types of jeans and pants for $59 and shorts and skirts for $29. This location also has lots of swimsuits (that aren’t on the web) at $15 for a bikini bottom or $30 for a one piece.

There still seems to be a healthy amount of merchandise in Zara stores. We wouldn’t be surprised if the sale continued for a few more weeks in stores and through the end of the month online. Click here to see photos from our shopping excursion.

50 Pics Inside Saks 70% Off

The discount at Saks Fifth Avenue goes to 70% off starting Wednesday. The online sale started today but, as usual, the in-store assortment is much better. Beware, since Hudson Bay Company purchased Saks, they have created new rules. All third markdowns are final sale. We are told that these rules are strict and there are absolutely no backsies.

As you head out for the holiday weekend, it’s hard not to wonder what you might be missing inside the store. To quench your curiosity we scoured every cranny of the Saks flagship to bring you a virtual shopping experience. After the jump we have more than 50 pictures of sale merchandise. Links are added to items that can also still be found online.

We started out hunt on the main floor where there are still a few bags left from the prior markdowns. We found this Alexander McQueen clutch that’s now $898 from $2245. A floral print Jimmy Choo beach bag is $550 from $1095 and quilted Lanvin Happy bags are about $1200 from $2420. You see more pics of sale bags over here.

Heading to the third floor, designer clothing, there is still a great variety of summer fashion ripe for the picking. Today the discount is 60% but tomorrow it will all be 70% off. We found a stylish Prabal Gurung jacket that comes to $840 from $2800, a blue floral Peter Philotto dress is $537 from $1792, an Antonion Berardi fishtail dress is about $650 from $2100 and a colorful Mary Katrantzou dress is also about $600 from $2020. There is still a small selection of Chanel clothing at 40% off. We are told that there will be no further markdowns but we wouldn’t be surprised if another discount was taken in a few weeks.

In the shoe department, on eight, there is a huge variety of shoes. The assortment is really staggering. Almost all shoes will hit 70% off. The only exceptions are Louboutin and Chanel, which are still only 30% off. While browsing, we found Saint Laurent studded leather pumps for under $400 from about $1100, a Miu Miu wave d’Orse for $243 from $675 and Jimmy Choo PVC high heel sandals for $450 from $900. Jump, jump, jump to see more than 30 pictures of sale shoes.
