The Outnet Summer Sale 80% Off

When it’s time for The Outnet’s bi-annual sale you have two choices: Hide the credit card or give in and max it out. Today we are choosing for the max-out option. We’ll show you why.

Check out this Jill Stuart strapless dress that comes to $150 from about $750. That’s 80% off. Pre-owned doesn’t even get priced this low. These Stella McCartney white wide-leg pants are more than 80% off, $325 from $1855.

Even if our top picks, you have to appreciate the quality and value. At 80% off you can afford to admire them up close. These Nicholas Kirkwood shoes are an outfit maker and, dare we say, inexpensive at $225 from $1240.

Normally, this sale seems to have a lot more merchandise but there are still some great items zest up the August blues. (Is there such a thing?) We especially love The Row sunnies that ring in under $100 from $422 and a Nina Ricci bag is $160 from $675.

The sale runs through Monday. We only wish The Outnet would allow us to delight in these types of discounts more often.

    Spying on Amuze

There are so many places to shop online but it’s not easy to find a destination that offers a great selection, affordable prices and top customer service. That is precisely why we love Amuze so much. The site has everything we could imagine–great fashion, great discounts and wonderful service.

Amuze offers up to 80% off on fabulous designers like Tom Ford, Balenciaga, Fendi, Valentino and more. Everything on the site is always brand new and authentic. Not to be overlooked, is the quick shipping, which means near instant gratification from your purchases.

This week, Madison Avenue Spy teamed up with Amuze to pick our favorite items from the site. The carefully curated selection includes great finds from Reede Krakoff, Miu Miu, Saint Laurent and Marni. This selection is all about great designers, beautiful items and plenty of luxe at affordable prices.

    Vera Wang 75% Off

One would think that shopping for discounts at this time of year would be an easy task. Today we scoured Soho looking for wonderful end-of-season sales and practically came up empty handed. That is, until we ventured into Vera Wang.

The designer’s Soho store, which is comprised of her ready-to-wear runway collection, is enticing customers with 75% off summer clothing. We found a brushstroke cocktail dress for $460 from $1595, a brocade dress is about $300 from $1195 and cobalt blue palazzo pants are $187 from $750. You can check out more pictures from our Vera Wang finds here.

    Chanel’s 2nd Markdown

Despite naysayers, Chanel has started a second markdown. Beginning Wednesday, the discount on clothing, shoes, jewelry and bags (if you can find one) is 60% off.

We did some Chanel hunting and found that Bergdorf Goodman still has quite a nice selection of merchandise. A hot pink tweed dress (above) comes to $4480 from $11K, a cream colored cropped tweed jacket is $3700 from $9300 and lace blouse is $1640 from $4100. You would be hard pressed to find anyone who would say any of these items are a steal but 60% off will save you a huge amount of money.

Around the store we also found enamel flower earrings for $164 from $410, pink ballet flats for $290, slingback pumps for $395, booties for $582 from $1295 and leather flower sandals for $318. You can referring pictures after the jump.

We suggest scouting your local Neiman Marcus or Bergdorf Goodman if you’re looking for excess Chanel inventory. There is still a small selection at Saks Fifth Avenue but their final sale policy is not comforting when spending large sums of money.

    DSW $199 Shoe Sale

DSW has clearly shifted away from carrying a large inventory of designer shoes but there are still some great items on which to feast. Right now company’s site has a couple of dozen designer shoes that are all marked $150 and below.

The famous shoe retailer has an assortment of deeply discounted shoes from Giuseppe Zanotti, Sergio Rossi and Ralph Lauren. Check out these Zanotti nailed flats that are now $199 from over $500 and these suede booties are just $150 from about $700. Outside the rock bottom clearance section, there are other attractively priced shoes. These Sergio Rossi nude pumps are $200 from $570 and these Ralph Lauren collection sky-high sandals are $200 from almost $1000.

Although this sale doesn’t include the depth and range of inventory and designers, there are still a few good pieces. Unfortunately, the day of finding great deals in at big discounters is getting increasingly more difficult.

    Agent Provocateur Reduced to Seduce

Agent Provocateur is hosting an end-of-season sale where sexy little things are discounted  80% off. Besides for the expected underpinnings, the sale includes bikinis, nightwear, “playsuits” and more.

Take a peek inside and you’ll find this Jet Corset reduced to $170 from $700, a french lace bra is $70 from $250 and the matching thong is $40 from $170. The coordinating suspenders and robe are deeply discounted too. We also found interesting pieces, like this Thora Dress $350 from $1050. It’s sure to turn heads in the boardroom and was supposedly inspired by Dior in the 40s.

The sale is also in Agent Provocatuer stores, including the Madison Avenue location. Even though most of the merchandise isn’t what most of us would consider functional, it’s always nice to celebrate your sexy– especially when it’s 80% off.

Back to School With Nordstrom’s Anni Sale

Sometimes shopping for Fall while your feet are still in the sand is a bit difficult but we noticed that the prices at this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is even more discounted than last year. Discounts are primarily on exclusive items made for the sale but we have to admit that there is quite a bit of temptation.

Back-to-school items are especially attractive during this Nordstrom sale. For example, we wouldn’t be caught dead wearing Uggs but they are a staple for school-age children. These tassel Uggs
are regularly $170 but are temporarily priced at $99 for the Anniversary Sale. Frye boots are equally as questionable but this moto-esque style for kids is $99 from $160. Check out this adorable toddler’s Burberry coat, which is normally $250 but is now discounted to $160 and this too-cool-for-school Herschel Supply Company backpack  for $35 from $55.

We are a bit choosier when picking pre-season items for ourselves but we quickly snatched this Carven Embroidered sweatshirt. How can you resist when the price is $190 from almost $300? This Missoni long cashmere coat isn’t bad either for $1200 from $2000. How about these Chloe Heloise high boots for $660 from $1000?

We can’t say that the Anniversary Sale is a big opportunity to stock up on discount beauty supplies but it’s really just a hard to resist. You likely don’t need any of these items but a discount in a cosmetic department is hard to turn down. Who doesn’t love a new lipstick or jar of cream?

We are always big fans of Butter polish and couldn’t resist the exclusive polish 10-piece set for for $49  (value $100) . La Mer’s  signature moisturizing cream is priced at $990 from $1360 and a set of Stila lip glaze is valued at $110 but priced at only $25.

The preseason discount runs until August 3rd and then prices are set at the full retail values. While shopping the discounts for fall we suggest also browsing the end of season sale where markdowns are about 60% off.

    Proenza Schouler Sample Sale

Proenza Schouler is hosting a one day sample sale– and Thursday is the day. Clothing, shoes and accessories will be discounted about 70% off.

Last session’s sample sale was a bit of a but but we are told that the selection this time around is quite impressive. (You see, there are some positives to Summer in the city.) Bags are $400, clutches are $199 and clothing is 70% off retail. As is often the case, samples are the best deal with prices ranging from $29 to $500.

If you’re lucky enough to be in neighborhood, we absolutely suggest shopping the PS sale. There could be a line when the sale opens but there historically hasn’t been a wait after 10am. If you can’t make it to the sale, the ProenzaSchouler.com has a great selection of bags discounts 50% to 60% off retail.
