Inspiring #BacktoSchool from Backpacks to Dorms

Don’t deny it, #BacktoSchool shopping is the best part of the fall season. Ever since Kindergarten we’ve eagerly anticipated the end of the summer so that we can start stocking up on fresh school supplies and the newest fashion.

Using eBay, we curated a couple collections to inspire your style for the start of the new academic year. We started off with a grouping our favorite backpack styles. We especially like bold prints for girls and sleek color-blocking for boys. Check out this girl’s bag with colorful cat-eye sunglasses, this blue and white crackerjack camo print and this preppy navy blue bat that has red pipping and zipper accents.

Those entering the next phase of their lives, shouldn’t be limited by institutional dorm rooms. In this collection about dorm room decor, we suggest amping up a small space with bright bedding, a wall mounted mirror and colorful kitchen accessories.

You can check out all of our inspiring eBay collections here and you can enter a chance to win $500 by creating your own #BacktoSchool collection. Click here to get started. After all, it’ never too early to get shopping for a new season.

Designer Bags Discounted 70% on Forzieri

Earlier this year, I had to buy a gifts for a couple that are nearly impossible to impress. They have both been all over the world and have the privilege to be able to afford themselves most anything they like. The gift had to be thoughtful and useful. After all, who needs more clutter?

While shopping online, I became intimately acquainted with the website Forzieri. The website isn’t new  but it has some really great Euro fashion and classics. If that’s your thing, we suggest you shop now if you like European design and style coupled with great all-American markdowns. Right now, the site is hosting a summer luxury sale were many designer items are discounted up to 70%. Plus, if you can save an extra 20% by using the code EXTRA20 at checkout.

We couldn’t believe how many hard-to-find designer bags are on sale. Here’s Valentino Rockstud patent leather bag that comes to $1200 from $3158. The blue Jil Sander market totes are a steal for $400 from $1275 and even a fashion street style fashion blogger can afford to rock this Kenzo bag at fashion week with a price of just over $300 from almost $1000.  Check out this European-feel Leonardo del Fuoco iPad bag that comes to $1020 from $2520. The bright-green, embossed croc, against the hard black leather, is as eye catching as a Celine bag and it’s perfect for work– even if you work at Vogue. This Philipp Plein black studded bag is also a great value for $710 from $2215.

Although it’s hard to get past the markdown on handbags without breaking the bank, you should also check out these Loriblu studded biker boots for $310 from $780 and these McQ Alexander McQueen bumble-bee yellow and black heels are $220 from $675. A Valentino leather Rockstud bracelet is $160 from $345 and this Zadig & Voltaire studded belt is a good price too at $150 from $278. Ohhh, ohhh, ohhh–the John Galliano skinny scarf is perfectly on trend for fall 2014 (see Prada’s runway) and it’s less than $80 from $186.

Although this is European, the VAT has already been removed and shipping is free with a $150 purchase. The site’s gift wrapping is expensive at $7 but some times the presentation is as valuable as the gift. In this instance, I would say the extra price is worth it.

100s of Manolo Shoes Marked 75% Off

It’s not rare to see a bunch of tourists lining up for an unseemly amount of time and chuckle to yourself. Today, it was the tourists coming from the MoMa who were laughing as New Yorkers  waited nearly an hour to gain entrance to Manolo Blahnik’s final markdown.

At around noon today, the wait to get inside the designer boutique ran up to 45 minutes. If there was ever a fashionable line this was it. Many of the attendees arrived in non-TLC Escalades and one pair of women was escorted by personal security.

Once inside, shoppers were delighted with an assortment of shoes that were all priced according to color coded stickers– red is $195, yellow is $225, greens are $250 and blues are $295. Croc shoes are all half-off. The retail price for these lovelies is $3000 and up. You can click here to see all the shoes that are available at the sale.

Most of the sale selection is from this past spring and summer collection. We found lots of styles with PVC, classic sling backs, flats, loafers, classic sandals and more daring caged sandals too. What makes this sale great is that most shoes fall within the $195 category. Unlike past seasons, we didn’t see a lot of jeweled classic Hangisi-style shoes.

Although some readers companied that the service during the sample sale wasn’t ideal, we were wildly surprised. One must remember that a huge sale, such as this, can be difficult for a sales associate to navigate. The days are long and very, very busy. The customers are demanding and, as always, everyone is a rush.

So now, you can rush here to view pictures of all the sale shoes. Afterwards, head out to get your Manolos while they last. The sale ends August 7.

10+ Fall Items Already Sold Out

It’s not even August and the hottest pieces of the new collections are already selling out. Of course, some shoppers want to be on top of the game but we still can’t believe how quickly fashion can fly.

In order to compile this list of sold out items we spoke to sales people at smaller boutiques, who usually don’t order in quantity, and searched through dozens of online luxury stores. We suggest you snatch up anything on this list as nothing is more needed than an item that can’t be had.

The Best Manolo Sale Ever Starts Now

Our favorite Manolo Blahnik sale is finally here and it could be the best boutique sale ever. These final markdown sales always boast discounts at about 75% off and usually only run for just four days but this year the sale is 10-jam-packed-days of Manolo bargains.

The markdown event will begin this Monday and run through August 7th. Once the sale ends the Blahnik  boutique will close as it undergoes bit of a facelift. The planned renovations will continue until Monday, August 25th, when the store will reopen with the new collection.

We expect that the added sale days mean that that there will be a huge amount of inventory. We might even venture to say, this sale will be better than the sample sale. During final markdown events, shoes are always marked by sticker dots. Prices usually range from $195 for a red dot up to $375 for a green dot. Most shoes and low boots– even highly ornate styles– are priced at $225. Last season, Lisa pumps were a budget friendly $225 and high boots were $325.

The store can get crowded but at least there isn’t usually a long line to get in. Although this sale runs longer than usual, we would suggest trying to attend towards the beginning days. We doubt there will be a lot of restocking. Styles and sizes always run low quickly.

The Outnet Summer Sale 80% Off

When it’s time for The Outnet’s bi-annual sale you have two choices: Hide the credit card or give in and max it out. Today we are choosing for the max-out option. We’ll show you why.

Check out this Jill Stuart strapless dress that comes to $150 from about $750. That’s 80% off. Pre-owned doesn’t even get priced this low. These Stella McCartney white wide-leg pants are more than 80% off, $325 from $1855.

Even if our top picks, you have to appreciate the quality and value. At 80% off you can afford to admire them up close. These Nicholas Kirkwood shoes are an outfit maker and, dare we say, inexpensive at $225 from $1240.

Normally, this sale seems to have a lot more merchandise but there are still some great items zest up the August blues. (Is there such a thing?) We especially love The Row sunnies that ring in under $100 from $422 and a Nina Ricci bag is $160 from $675.

The sale runs through Monday. We only wish The Outnet would allow us to delight in these types of discounts more often.

    Spying on Amuze

There are so many places to shop online but it’s not easy to find a destination that offers a great selection, affordable prices and top customer service. That is precisely why we love Amuze so much. The site has everything we could imagine–great fashion, great discounts and wonderful service.

Amuze offers up to 80% off on fabulous designers like Tom Ford, Balenciaga, Fendi, Valentino and more. Everything on the site is always brand new and authentic. Not to be overlooked, is the quick shipping, which means near instant gratification from your purchases.

This week, Madison Avenue Spy teamed up with Amuze to pick our favorite items from the site. The carefully curated selection includes great finds from Reede Krakoff, Miu Miu, Saint Laurent and Marni. This selection is all about great designers, beautiful items and plenty of luxe at affordable prices.

    Vera Wang 75% Off

One would think that shopping for discounts at this time of year would be an easy task. Today we scoured Soho looking for wonderful end-of-season sales and practically came up empty handed. That is, until we ventured into Vera Wang.

The designer’s Soho store, which is comprised of her ready-to-wear runway collection, is enticing customers with 75% off summer clothing. We found a brushstroke cocktail dress for $460 from $1595, a brocade dress is about $300 from $1195 and cobalt blue palazzo pants are $187 from $750. You can check out more pictures from our Vera Wang finds here.
