    Best Columbus Day Sales

Celebrating finding America isn’t what it used to be. Banks are open and so is the the NYSE. Chances are, if you’re not in a union– you have work. Even so, it is the perfect day to go “sailing.” Shopping online is just too easy, especially when online discounts are better than much of what you’ll find in stores. Here are a few of our holiday favorites:

    Barneys Warehouse
The famous Warehouse (website) is offering shoppers an additional 30% off almost everything on the site and an extra 40% off clearance merchandise. Barneys-Like Closeouts at 80% Off

We spend a lot of time trolling eBay. It’s the obvious place to pick up vintage and preowned wonders but this week we unearthed a collection of brand new designer clothing that is worthy of Barneys. The best part is that the merchandise is between 65% and 80% off.

Head right this way to see all the Suno, VBH, Preen and Clover Canyon that we uncovered. We also have a few tips on how to haggle for even better prices. Some times, we wonder what we would do without online shopping.

    Saks Friends & Family Presale

Friends and Family doesn’t officially start at Saks Fifth Avenue until October 16th but in-the-know shoppers can start curating their discount purchases now. The markdown will be 25% off on clothing, shoes, and accessories. Jewelry will be discounted 20%. Unfortunately, beauty is not included in this promotion.

Speaking of sale exclusions, the list is extensive. Generally speaking, all luxury designer brands are excluded. The friends and family discount can be applied to most contemporary lines like Alice & Olivia, DVF, Rag & Bone, Milly, Valentino Red and most denim lines. Brands like Valentino, Proenza, Alexander Wang and Chloe are all excluded.

The sale begins in stores on October 16 and runs through Sunday, October 19th. Online shoppers are usually given a code to begin shopping the sale two days early. You can use the code FRNFAM at checkout.

    BlueFly 80% Off Warehouse Sale

It may appear that our style interest is only piqued by  the most expensive and elite designers but contemporary and bridge clothing brands are attractive too if they are priced correctly. Right now, BlueFly is hosting a warehouse sale were everything is reduced 80% off. That means that the $400 dress you liked in your favorite department store is appropriately priced at $80.

That sounds interesting, right? Take a look: This Alice & Olivia wide striped blazer is $97 from $484, an ABS by Allen Schwartz black and ivory lace dress is $115 from $575 and a Rebecca Minkoff leather top is just $70 from $348. If you sort from high to low you can also find a few well priced designer items like this Matthew Williamson dress that’s marked down to $252 from $1500 and this $2000 men’s John Varvatos suit that’s reduced to $400.

The sale runs through Thursday but we suggest you get clicking because discounts of 80% usually don’t slip from shopping carts often.

Louboutin x Disney = No Joke

Designer collaborations have become as commonplace as sushi takeout. We just never expected that Christian Louboutin would take the Disney route for an exclusive Angelina Jolie Maleficent shoe. No. We ware not kidding.

“The curled heel and nude mesh base hint that something sinister is afoot,” says a news release. Yes, it is evident that this entire concept is twisted. The only “silver lining” is that profits from sales benefit the SOS Children’s Villages, an NGO supported by Jolie that provides stable, loving homes for orphaned and abandoned children in 133 countries.

The limited edition shoe, is $1400 and drops exclusively at Louboutin boutiques on October 20 in New York, Los Angeles, London, Hong Kong and Paris. Call now to place your preorder but we would personally prefer takeout from Tanoshi Sushi.

The Designer Bag You Want Now: Luxury Bond

One would think that after making the decision to spend 3, 4, $5000 on a bag that you would only need to go to the store and hand over your plastic. With some designers that sense of instant gratification doesn’t always work. Take Chanel as an example, the brand is often completely sold out of it’s most popular styles– like the WOC (wallet on a chain) and its Boy Bags.

What do you do when you have that yearning burning inside but no there’s product to ease the pain? Head to the amazing Luxury Bond website. The luxury retailer is a great resource for
completely authentic Chanel, Prada, Bottega Veneta, and the occasional Saint Laurent or Hermes. The best part is that the store is always stocked with the most hard to find designer handbag styles–some are even offered at a discount.

Take a look, when was the last time you saw a classic black or red Boy Bag just sitting on the shelves of your local Saks Fifth Avenue? Or how about this Caviar WOC and a straight forward mini classic?

The experience of getting exactly what you want exactly when you want is almost unheard of within the world of Chanel. The best part is that Luxury Bond offers domestic shipping for a flat fee of $19 and all sales taxes are already included in the price of the bag. The site also ships to many international destinations.

Those looking to cash out of their lightly worn luxury bags would also do very well consigning with Luxury Bond. The company’s commission fees are lower than we’ve ever seen– ranging from just 15% to 25%, depending on the price of the item. That means that you get to keep most of the value of your bag but don’t need to deal with the hassles of selling it yourself.

So what are you waiting for? Go get your dream bag right now.
