    Ralph Lauren Fall Markdown

Ralph Lauren has started their first markdown of the season. Right now you can find select merchandise reduced 50% off.

Don’t be disappointed that there aren’t any high end fashion items for yourself. Instead, direct your attention towards the Denim & Supply collection. The fashion is urban casual and priced excellently. Take this hooded down jacket that’s now $130 from $185, this majorly on trend men’s styled herringbone coat that’s $220 from $300 and a denim shirt for $55 from $80.

For men, a tennis polo is $90 from $125 and a golf polo is $62 from $90. There’s also a nice selection for kids. A wool hooded toggle coat is $170 from $225 and this boy’s large pony polo is $27 from $40.

There is also a bit of housewares on markdown but there isn’t anything very eye catching. Ralphie really needs to start shaking up the home department. It’s in dire need of an update.

Surprise: Manolo Sample Sale Happening Now

Sometimes a Wednesday just isn’t just the middle of the work week. This is exactly one of those occasions. We just found out that Manolo Blahnik has started their sample sale. It opens to the public at 11am today.

Considering how the private days have run under the radar, we would hope that the sale isn’t too much of a mob scene. Those brave enough to attend will be awarded with shoes priced at just $100. Exotic skin boots top out at $600. Shoes with ornamentation are usually priced at $150. You may even be able to afford to go crazy with a alligator style, which will cost you just $300 from a retail price of $4300. (That’s less than the tax would cost.)

Usually, by the time the time the sale opens to the public, there isn’t much left. We have a hunch that this isn’t the case this year. If you’re at the sale or plan to go to the sale please leave intell in the comment section so that we can pass it along to other Manolo fans.

    JCP Designer Charity Sale

Every year, non-profit JCP hosts an amazing fashion sale that is reminiscent of shopping a local consignment store in the 1990s. The merchandise is amazing and prices are, would you believe, reasonable!

This season the sale will begin on Sunday, November 2 and run for four days. We got a sneak peak into some of the primo items. The extensive list includes studded Christian Louboutin peep-toe platforms $400, instead of $1,295. A Goyard red tote is now $400 from $1,300 and a Max Mara coat with fur collar is now $375 from $1,800. Other designers include Alexander McQueen, Acne, Ferragamo and YSL among many others.

You can point your courser right here to see the products on the organization’s instagram account. One word of wisdom: JCP can be a bit tricky about not putting out all the best merchandise on the first day. So this might be a sale you should consider seriously stalking if you’re looking to find fashion gold.

    JCP Fashion Sale
Sunday, November 2 through Wednesday, November 5
    12pm to 8pm daily

Sample Sales: Brioni, Rachel Zoe & Sandro

There are literally dozens of sample sales scheduled for this week but only a few meet our high standards of achieving worthiness. Below is a carefully curated selection of this week’s upcoming sample sales paired with expert shopping tips.

    Brioni
Wednesday, October 29th through Friday, October 31st
    Wed—Thu 9am to 7pm, Fri 9am to 5:30pm
    Soiffer Haskin, 317 W 33rd St (btwn 8th & 9th)
Men appreciate a good deal too and the Brioni sample sale is poised to offer lots of savings while supplying your man with top Italian suiting. Discounts are said to be up to 75% off but we suggest waiting until Friday to shop. We wouldn’t be surprised if leftover merchandise was reduced to 90% off retail. Yes, 90%.

    Rachel Zoe
Wednesday, October 29 through Sunday, November 2
    Wed—Sat 10:30am to 7pm, Sun 10:30am to 5pm
    Chelsea Market, 75 Ninth Ave (btwn 15th & 16th)
We wouldn’t suggest taking the trip from Madison Avenue to Chelsea Market for this sale but it may be worth checking out the goods if you’re in the neighborhood. Merchandise will be discounted up to 70% off, which isn’t much more than a good end-of-season sale.

    Sandro
Thursday, October 30th through Sunday, November 2nd
    Thu—Sat 10am—8pm, Sun 10am—4pm
151 Wooster Street (btwn W Houston & Prince)
Sandro has quickly become one of our favorite mid-priced brands. The styling is French chic and there are always a lot of great classic fashion items. We are going to be on the hunt for items more than 70% off. We’ll be sure to keep you posted.

YSL, Fendi, Marni Friends & Family

It’s near impossible to find a friends and family sale with no exclusions. These days, there is always a long list of designer blackouts. It is for this reason that we were so excited to find the Forzieri friends and family sale. The luxury retailer is now offering 25% almost all full price bags and shoes when you spend more than $250. Just use the code FRIENDS25 at checkout.

The best part of the promotion is that Forzieri carries great Saint Laurent, Fendi  and Gaultier. After the discount, a Fendi 2Jours comes to about $1900 from $2550, you can save about $1000 on a Saint Laurent Sac de Jour and you can shave about $600 off this Jil Sander top handle bag. The site also includes a lot of great items from Marni, Charlotte Olympia and Roberto Cavalli.

The sale runs through Tuesday but we suggest shopping soon because some of these highlighted items seem to be selling out. Perhaps, you should consider this Halloween gift to yourself. It’s better than candy in so many ways.

    Intermix Sale Items 70% Off

It appears as if all of our good “friends” have abandoned us reminded their discount codes. We might have to wait until November for the next round of markdowns and discount promotions but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to find some real wear-now deals.

Right now, the sale section on Intermix is attracting smart shoppers with discounts that go to 70% off. We found this Etre Cecile graphic tee for $59 from $158, Rag & Bone distressed and ripped skinny jeans for $79 from $229 and a 6397 denim coat for $200 from $695.

Inside: Hermes & The Row Sample Sales

Today was a busy shopping day. Both Hermes and The Row opened up their discount dens to press and VIPs ahead of their public sales. Prices at both sales can make a rich girl poor but those shopping for Hermes or The Row don’t suffer from sticker shock easily.

This year, the Hermes sale is better than the past several sales but brand veterans were still were not very impressed. Most everything is priced at 50% off retail. Shoppers will find a nice assortment of scarves — Do you need more? — enamel bracelets — Do you wear the ones you own?

The sale has no leather bags, wallets or small leather times. We also didn’t find any leather bracelets or belts. Ties are plentiful as are shoes and boots. The best items, if there are any left, are the Cape Cod watches, gloves and hats. The sale also includes a bit of china and clothing.

One thing that was abundant were the limits. For obvious reasons, each shopper could only purchase three scarves, five bracelets and 10 ties. We hear that some sales people will hold scarves so that you can take another pass at the checkout line but we didn’t have the need to try.

The only limits at The Row sale is your bank account. Today’s VIP preview provided a wide assortment of the twins’ timeless classics. Prices are a bit higher this year. All clothing is discounted 70% off and bags are 60% off. Last year, everything was marked 80% off retail.

As we arrived, we noticed that the brand’s popular chunky knit sweaters where quickly evaporating. By the time we left there were very few remaining. Bags were plentiful but going fast. The assortment included totes, backpacks, shoulder bags and satchels. There is also an entire table of gorgeous exotic bags. As you can assume, people were buying a lot of bags but there didn’t seem to be any hoarding.

Other popular items include leather dresses, like this long sleeve mini style and the more classic sheath dress. There are leather leggings and leather coats too. There didn’t seem to be as many blouses or coats as the past sale but the racks were filled with lots of dresses, pants and blazers. This school-boy jacket is one of our favorite items from the collection and we found it in both black and cream.

Almost everything at the sale is from this season’s collection. Even if items are older, the styling of The Row is so classic that you would never know. Sizes run from 0 to 12 but there is only about half a rack of 0s. As we always say, The Row is the closest you will come to a civilized sample sale. Dare we even say, we enjoy shopping the sale more than Barneys???
