Fashion week is always one of the highlights of the year. It’s always electrifying and inspiring. These days, the off the runway fashion is almost as good as what you would see on the runway.

We scoured Nordstrom to pick what is sure to take the spotlight a style bloggers and celebrities vogue for photographers and paparazzi. Our roundup includes everything from Dolce & Gabbana floral prints to Stella McCartney’s super hero bags. What’s best is that Nordstrom always offers free shipping and free returns. We only wish that getting in and out of fashion shows was as simple as shopping at Nordstrom.

    Nordstrom 40% Off Sale

Earlier this year, Nordstrom announced they would end the tradition of its half-yearly sale and instead host six smaller sales. These smaller sales are said to coincide with national holiday weekends, when Americans tend to shop.

This week, ostensibly alongside President’s weekend, Nordstrom is hosting a sale where a large assortment of items are reduced to 40% off. Among the designer merchandise is this small Chloe Baylee bag that is $1300 from $2250, Ferregamo snakeskin sandals are $845 from $1690 and a Rag & Bone shearling is $1340 from $2500.

After sorting and resorting the sale merchandise, it seems as much of the sale inventory are items that fall into the transitional-spring category and holdovers from the winter sale. For example, this 3.1 Phillip Lim sweater is from the winter 2014 collection and is now 65% off and this 3.1 Phillip Lim shift dress is more traditional to spring and is now reduced 40%. There also seems to be a lot of great premium denim options, most of which are marked 40% off.

The sale will continue through February 22nd. The next big holiday weekend is Memorial Day, which falls on May 26th this year. No need to speculate what will be on sale during that sale.

    Jonathan Adler 70% Off

Jonathan Adler doesn’t seem to hold the same novelty it did, say, three years ago. Perhaps it’s because of the brand’s rapid expansion or the way other companies have captured a similar esthetic. A discount ranging from 30% to 70% off, however, has us taking a closer look at the knickknacks and home furnishings.

Among the bedding we found a queen sized print coverlet is $150 from $575, white sheets with navy print trim are $70 from $275 and a grey geometric duvet cover is also $70 from $225. This adorable jute pouch is a great little gift item fort $19 from almost $70 and a zippy wallet is $22 from $78. Housewares are a bit more expensive with the discounts ranging from 30% to 70% off. Throw pillows, like this one, are 50% off and this rococo side table is $260 from $400.

If you go to the store, you’ll also find lots of furniture floor samples on sale. Prices are comparable to West Elm or CB2 after the discount but the design is a bit brighter and kitschier.

    Stepping Into 75% Off Manolos

The Manolo Blahink final reduction sale started today and there was no way that a little bit of sleet would keep us away. How often can you score the finest of heels at just a hint above sample sale prices– and about without the fray?

As per usual, the prices are marked by colored dots that start at $195. The difference, this year, is the the prices rocket to $600, which is almost twice as much as previous years. We were also really disappointed that so few shoes had red dots ($195). This category included only the most plain and basic style pumps. Most shoes had green dots ($255), which is only $60 more but it seems to be a mental hurdle. There were a variety of these suede cap-toe shoes for $225. Here are pictures of almost everything at the sale.

Tall boots are all priced at the tippy top $600 level and lower boots are $375. Then there are the more ornate shoes, like the Hangisi and over the top satin Borlaks, which are both priced at $325. Low boots with gems are $375. The iconic Manolo Mary Jane is available in red and nude for $255. Pony hair shoes are $325 and the iconic gator shoes are priced as marked, which is about 50% off. (More pics here.)

The available sizes vary across styles but there was more than enough for everyone. Even the woman who had piles of 10 or more shoes at their feet.

There was no line at 1pm and no reports of lines throughout the day. Just be sure not to show up at 2pm, when the store closes to restock. Lets agree to understand that restocking means reorganizing the merchandise. The boutique sale does not usually receive new inventory throughout the sale.

The Best Manolo Sale of the Season

We have made it through two markdowns at Manolo Blahnik and the final price cut is finally here. Starting Monday, Manolo will begin their final markdown of the season. This four day sale is the perfect opportunity to stock up on classic and ornate shoes from the winter collection at up to 75% off.

Sale styles are from the exclusive boutique collection and include some alligator. Prices are always marked by sticker dots, which usually range from $195 for a red dot up to $350 for a green dot. Most shoes and low boots– even highly ornate styles– are priced at $250.

The markdown event will begin this Monday and run through Thursday, February 12. Once the sale ends the Blahnik boutique will close for a breather. The planned re-org will continue until Monday, February 16th, when the store will reopen with the new collection.

The store is often crowded but at least there usually isn’t a long line to get in. The sale will only run for four days and styles and sizes run low quickly. If you’re looking for a great deal we suggest you switch out of your heels and take a run over to the boutique asap.

For a full rundown of past final markdowns you can check out past story from the Summer here.

Chanel Shoes Extra 30% & Sonia Rykiel 75% Off

There isn’t much left in stores from the winter 2014 collections. Saks and Barneys have done away with the aging collections and what’s left at Bloomingdales and Bergdorfs is sparse. One bright spot, however, are the Chanel shoes and Sonia Rykiel selection at Bloomingdales, on 59th Street.

Chanel shoes, which are already reduced, are an extra 30% off. Mid-calf lace-up boots with a built-in wool sock, ring in under $900 from $1750. Nude and black cap-toe sparkly platforms are $460 from almost $900 and all black knee-high boots are $1500 from almost $2300. There are also some shoes that haven’t been treated to a first markdown and they are a straight 40% off. Those shoes include, black and khaki moto boots that are about $1000 from $1750 and a classic cap-toe with a wooden patterned leather is about $600 from $995. Pictures of the entire sale selection are right this way.

Unfortunatly, there wasn’t a another markdown given to Chanel clothing. There are still plenty of great items but the discount is frozen at 40%. Across the way from the Chanel “shop”, is a great selection of Sonia Rykiel clothing that is 75% off. A red knit cardigan is about $250 from $940 and a dress with sequined lips (perfect for Valentine’s day) is just about $60. A top with lips comes to just $50. Here are pics of the sale merchandise.

If you’re shopping online you can save an extra 20% off already reduced shoes with the code SHOES. Frankly, the online sales aren’t very good but there are a few second markdowns, like these Genetic jeans that come to $95 from $195.

The Hottest Spring Accessories at 20% Off

After shopping amazing winter sales, it’s hard to digest paying full price for anything. We agree, it’s hard. Sometimes, however, there are items so hot that your sensibilities are compromised. Forzieri has just the right incentive to make buying now make sense.

The European luxury retailer is offering customers 20% off spring purchases. The best part is that there are no exclusions, which means that you can apply the discount to the new collection of Valentino, Fendi and Saint Laurent. Use the code CUPIDWEEK at checkout to engage the discount. The discount does expire on February 18th.

If you can resist the shinny new collections, certainly head over to the sale section where the discounts are up to 60% and an additional 20% discount with the code EXTRA20VIP.
