    Neiman Marcus Blowout Clearance Sale

While everyone has their attention directed towards new runway fashions, pop-up stores and glittery launches we were discreetly tipped off to a blowout clearance sale. Neiman Marcus is hosting a one day online sale where aged-out merchandise is reduced 75% off.

The sale officially runs September 8th but we found an early access link that can be used right now. Among the reduced fashion, we found lots of CoSTUME National shoes, including these pointed-toe wedge booties that are reduced to $280 from almost $900. They happen to look a lot like the popular Celine shoes, just nicer. This striking Yigal Azrouel lace blouse is $200 from $850 and this J. Mendel dress is perfect for a luncheon.

Understandably, the selection isn’t entirely steller but a bit of sorting can provide some great deals even on inexpensive items like sweaters, jeans and pajamas. Better to browse sale selections than be tempted by full price fashions– well we try.

Barneys Warehouse Sale Runs in Brooklyn

For decades the Barneys Warehouse sale was a shopping tradition. It was the subject of urban legend and lustful truths. In an era of online sales, markdowns and ubiquitous sample sales, nostalgia still draws customers towards the warehouse sale no matter where it travels.

Right now, the famous sale is set in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (ironically). Our spies scoped out the site over the holiday weekend and the report was about as cheery as L-Train construction. “The sale was a cramped, tiny space, much more hipster than it ever was,” says our roving reporter.

Right now, the sale is an additional 20% off everything and we are told it will even dip lower. Bags are an additional 60% off the already reduced price but the selection is “sad”. Among the shoes, our spy spotted Prabal Gurung, Kirkwood, Marni and some random Manolos in a size 40. You can click here to see pictures from inside the sale.

Sale highlights include Public School shearling bombers for men, a small selection of kids stuff, a few lacquer boxes for the home and vests for pups. Not exactly stellar by any account. If you’re looking for a better selection, we suggest you go to the online Barneys Warehouse Sale.

Check out this emerald green, fur trimmed Alberta Ferretti coat that’s reduced to $2000 (with a Labor Day extra promotion) from $7110, a Proenza Schouler black and white macrame sweater that’s reduced to $370 from $1150 and a Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini multicolored abstract-print dress is $280 from $750. Take note, the above prices include an extra 30% off promotion that ends September 7th.

    Versace Blowout Sale

Bold prints and structured design have defined Versace for decades. The iconic Medusa logo is one of the most recognizable labels in the world. As a matter of fact, the image is that of the goddess Athena whose beautiful hair was transformed into snakes for allowing Poseidon to seduce her in the temple of the goddess Aphrodite.

The seduction of Versace is undeniable and has never been more irresistible. Starting Tuesday, the mid-town discount store, Luxury 9 is hosting a unbelievable Versace blowout sale. Merchandise is priced starting at just $25 and a large bulk of the inventory ranges between $50 and $100.

The selection comprises an assortment of inventory for men and children, which includes runway pieces, outerwear, gowns and accessories. A tunic with an abstract cloud print and a Madusa logo is $150, a dip-died coat with lace-up sleeves is $200 and a classic Versace print silk blouse is $100. A salmon color blazer is $50 as is a racer-back silk Summer dress. Among the children’s items there is a red and black Versace leather jacket for $200 and a gingham trench coat for $100. (Click here for pictures.)

While you’re shopping through the Versace selection be sure to scope out the assortment from Off White, Marcelo Burlon, Hood by Air and Palm Angels. Off White hoodies are $250 from about $1000, a Palm Angels shirt is $140 from about $315 and a leather jacket also from Palm Angels with an embroidered cannabis leaf on the back is $1000 from $1400. (Click here for pictures.)

We suggest you stop by the sale soon and continue to check back. We are told there will be restocking and other luxury brands may be added to the selection.

Saks Fifth Avenue: Spend & Save Now

We have become all too familiar with department stores’ gift card shopping incentives. You spend as much as you can for the opportunity to receive a gift card for a later purchase. More often than not, you get your gift card and think that you’re going to save it to buy something special. By the time you commit to the purchase, the gift card is expired. It’s all very disappointing.

Good thing, Saks Fifth Avenue is offering a promotion that doesn’t require to use a gift card at a future date. Depending on how much money you spend, you can save money off your purchase right now. For instance, if you spend $250 you can save $50, spend $450 and save $100 or an expenditure of $700 will earn you a savings of $175. The promotion is only online use the code AUGSPEND at checkout.

There are designer exclusions and the list has grown vastly from last year. The discount can’t be used on Chanel, Louboutin or Valentino but there are still some top designers to which you can apply the code. We were able to use the discount on these eligible embellished shoes we’ve been eyeing and eligible Rossi nude heels. This Alice & Olivia denim jacket with patches and this Mary Katrantzou shirt dress is perfect for post-Labor Day. The discount can even be used on Les Petits Joureurs bags. Take note, sale merchandise is eligible for the discount too.

Don’t hesitate, the discount only runs through Thursday. Next time Saks is offering a promotion it could be one of those tricky gift cards.

Nordstrom Sporting Discounts of 60% Off

This time of year might be the most difficult time to find good discounts. It takes lots of browsing and sorting to find anything noteworthy. A sort through Nordsrom’s sale section, however, turned up some interesting finds.

Among the items the reduced 60% is this great Comme Des Garcons twill topper that’s $460 from $1160, a mini Fendi bag that’s $680 from $1700 and an Alexander Wang denim skirt that’s reduced to $118 from almost $300.

Beyond the sale section, it’s definitely worth your time to take a browse through the more cutting edge designer merchandise that Nordstrom has grouped as ‘Here + Now‘. The Brandon Maxwell collection is so nicely tailored that it looks like fine art, the Lowe selection  as spot-on as any snooty niche boutique and there is more Vetements than anyone will ever need. Did you get your $2700 hoodie dress yet?

Beyond the Vetements, there is truly a lot to keep your eyes on. For now, we are happy with our baby Fendi on sale.

Ralph Lauren Final Clearance 70% Off

Ralph Lauren has started their final clearance sale of the season. Most merchandise is now discounted 70% off. Although this isn’t the biggest sale of the season, there are still some great finds. We wouldn’t count on them sicking around for very long.

This sale is online only but we usually find that the Ralph Lauren boutique will match prices. It always takes some time and standing around waiting for a manager’s authorization. In this instance it might just be easier to shop online. This leather zip jacket is now $300 from almost $1000, a Wimbledon bomber jacket is $200 from $500 and a team USA polo is $60 from $98. We even found this classic black Ricky Bag reduced to $1300 from $2750 and this purple suede version is just $624 from $2250.

Among the men’s polos there is a team USA Olympic polo for $70 from $125, a classic polo starts at $35 from $98 and depending on the color and the classic fit Big Pony’s start at $44 from $125. There is still a lot of Olympics merchandise but the discount isn’t stellar. We will keep a watchful eye on the red, white and blue.

There might be an additional promotion before the sale season officially ends but it won’t likely save you very much more money than the current savings. We suggest that you buy what you like now, and don’t look back.

    Hervé Léger Moving Sale

Hervé Léger is moving its store on Madison Avenue. In honor of the move we are celebrating by taking advantage of amazing markdowns.

Right now, the boutique has two categories of sale merchandise. The first section is filled with dresses and speperates that are all priced from $199 to $699. The rest of the store, which primarily consists of the prior spring and summer collections is reduced 70% to 80% off.

The sale runs through Sunday. Unfortunately, no phone orders are being accepted. So you’re going to have to head uptown to restock on your bondage dresses or go online to the sale section. The discounts aren’t as plentiful on the website but here is a jacquard dress that’s reduced to $402 from $1320 and strapless dress that’s $537 from $1790.
