    The OutNet Blowout 85% Off

Twice a year, The Outnet cleans out it’s designer closet with blowout prices. Surprise! The sale started today and there are so many amazing deals at 85% off that we don’t know what to choose.

Where do we start? Here is a Cucinelli coat reduced to $840 from $5500, a Chloe tweed coat for $430 from $2900 an alpaca trimmed coat from Dorrinton that’s $600 from $4000 and a Proenza white leather biker jacket with black zippers is $400 from $2650. Clearly this mild winter was problematic for coat sales. Next year, we might not be so lucky.

There are so many shoes that it’s best just to sort by your size. If you’re a size 9 go for these Lanvin suede boots for $270 from $1350, berry Casadi suede pumps for $123 or Prada flats for $385. Need sneakers? These Nike’s are $23 from $130. We also noticed a large assortment of Christian Louboutin shoes that aren’t in the clearance sale but they are reduced 40% to 50% off.

We’ve always been very impressed by the quality and styling of The Outnet’s in-house label, Iris & Ink. The sale makes these classic wardrobe basics nearly irresistible. Take these high-rise denim jeans that are now priced at $62 from $155. The original price was reasonable enough but stylish jeans for $63 is remarkable. Here is a cashmere sweater for $82. (We have one already and love it.) This muted pink gilet for $180 can be great for Spring. Black ankle boots for $122 or suede over-the-knee boots for $160 are a no-brainer…you get the point.

There is an abundance of designer frocks listed in the clearance section. Some of our favorites include, a Roksanda a-line skirt that’s $270 from $1345, an embellished Pucci dress is $360 from $2400 and this Roland Mouret mini-dress is a must-have for $225 from $1500.

There aren’t many great bags in the sale but here is a  fascia Saint Laurent Boston-type bag for 50% off or go for an Anya Hindmarch ‘Hubba Bubba‘ clutch for 80% off.

This is one of those sales that serves as proof that it doesn’t necessarily need to cost a fortune to look fantastically chic. We suggest you hurry and shop. As we are writing the post, the site was getting increasingly slow, which means it’s inundated with shoppers.

Neiman Marcus: Extra 20% Off Clearance

Neiman Marcus started an online promotion where many sale items are reduced an extra 20% off. The big treat is that the online clearance section is filled with great designer items that could be perfect for Spring.

Upon browsing, we found a Marni blouse that’s about 80% off now and perfectly on trend with ruffles along the trim. Here’s a Victoria Beckham bustier top that’s also 80% off and comes to $285 from $1430 and these designer track pants with orange and white racing strips are an excellent find for just $233 from $1170. They are just too good to resist.

The discount among the shoes isn’t quite as high but it still makes sense to cherry pick among the Spring and Summer styles. A white Gianvito Rossi d’Orsay pump is $330 from $830, Aquazzura’s iconic rainbow striped suede sandals are $277 from about $700 and these Aquazzura suede candies-like sandals are $340 from $850.

The promotion started today and only runs through Thursday. Neiman Marcus doesn’t do these extra 20% off sales too often. We suggest you take advantage while the opportunity presents itself. It’s quite the treat to shop for the upcoming season from a selection discounted merchandise that’s this good.

Wolford Sample Sale: Getting a Leg Up

Wolford’s hosiery and tights are lauded for their fine fit and modern designs. The quality is known for being outstanding and the styling is always at the forefront of fashion. At the same time, they are often four times the price of most hosiery brands.

Today, the Wolford sample sale opened its doors at the 260 Sample Sale space was buzzing with excitement as women of all ages and sizes sifted through neatly arranged bins of leg wear. Prices start at $18 tights and stockings with retail values under $100. More expensive tights are $45. Are the stockings and ‘stay ups’ that are $15. (Good luck trying to stay up. We’ve never had luck with any brand.) Styles range from sheer stockings to the most current trend of oversized fishnets. You can click over this way to see pictures of some of the stocking styles available at the sale.

Beyond the leg wear, the sale includes a variety of undergarments, bras, panties, shareware and lingerie. There is also many racks of ready-to-wear clothing and accessories. The shapewear skirts and tops are $55, bodies are $75 and dresses are $95. Ready-to-wear is a straight 75% off retail.

We are huge believers of stocking up on, well, stockings when a discount opportunity presents itself. At $18 a pair, however, we didn’t feel very inclined to completely restock our dwindling tights and stocking inventory. You can regularly find similar pricing on luxury leg wear at discount stores like Century 21, TJ Max or Off Fifth. At 75% off the ready-to-wear is also not very attractive and the merchandise found in a boutique’s bin and priced at $5 an item.

By no means are we saying that there aren’t a lot of great pieces to pick up. We just think the pricing is a tad too high for a big stock up . Stay tuned for markdowns. We’ll be sure to update the main sample sale page as discounts occur.

    Barneys Gift Card Promotion

Hey, big spenders. Barneys is looking to entice you into pulling the trigger on that item you’ve been eyeing. Right now, you can earn a $250 gift card for every $2000 you spend on women’s ready-to-wear, jewelry, accessories, and shoes.

The best part is that there doesn’t seem to be any exclusions. So you can shift your shopping into high gear. Gift cards are only redeemable from March 13, 2017 through April 16, 2017. So don’t forget to use them!

We have entered into a bag fatigue zone and there aren’t many handbag styles that can get us excited. One exception is the Delvaux collection, which could earn you a few of those gift cards! Other than that, we would be pretty happy to carry our purchases out in just about anything.

Jewelry. Let’s talk about jewelry. Check out this ring from Spinelli Kilcolli ($2000) that consists of three linked gold bands or Pamela Love sapphire hoops ($3000). The bottom line is that if you’re going to spend thousands it should really be something you can wear daily and for many years.

The gift card promotion is available at Barneys stores nationwide, on the website and at BarneysWarehouse. (Select items are now an extra 50% off at the online outlet store!)

Be warned, however, Barneys will most likely not extend the dates if the cards aren’t used during the specified window of time. The promotion runs through March 12, so be sure to enjoy a meal at Freds and go back next week to use those gift cards!

DSW’s Roger Vivier Shoes Are All $250

You’re going to want to read super carefully if you’ve ever hauled yourself to the far West Side for the opportunity to buy discounted Roger Vivier shoes. (Guilty!) You don’t even need the $5 for a Via because DSW has the French luxury designer shoes and they are all priced at $250.

Before we overhype the situation, we admit, the selection isn’t stellar but the markdown is quite remarkable.  Here is are suede knee-high boots for $250 from $1750, a classic pump with a curved heel is $250 from $745 and leopard heeled sandals are also $250 from $925.

If that’s not enough, DSW is also offering a $10 gift card for every $75 you spend. So one pair of those $250 Viviers will earn you $30 for your next shopping trip.

Beyond the Roger Vivier selection the DSW also has a variety of Gucci, Sergio Rossi and Opening Ceremony discounted to $99. DSW is one of those discount stores we often forget to check. This is a good reminder.

Trends: Spring is Coming Up Daisies

Okay. We admit it. We have Spring fever. And yes, it’s contagious.

It’s only March 1 but everywhere we look we see daisies. Florals are always a big trend for Spring but, this year, designers were clearly smitten by the simplicity of the slender daisy. It makes sense, after all, last Spring was tulip-mania and the prior year we saw an abundance of cherry blooms.

Nordstrom— in particular– has a fantastic array of designer items showcasing this floral trend. Some of our favorite items include Daisy pumps from Charlotte Olympia, Kate Spade’s daisy wedges and  Prada’s daisy slides, which are likely to be come the most iconic shoe of the season.

Daisies aren’t only for the feet– obviously. Over here is a beautifully understated top from Valentino with embroidered daisies, Victoria Beckham’s daisy print stretch dress (almost sold out) or a more understated Alice & Olivia daisy lace cocktail dress.

Daisy mania even extends to these Sam Edelman sunglasses or a daisy print neck-tie for your bae. We haven’t even started on daisy dukes– but we might want to save those for Summer.

It’s really special to be able to find all these amazing designer daisy items all at Nordstrom. As always, online shoppers should take advantage of Nordstrom’s great customer service, which features free shipping and free returns. If only all stores were as easy to shop.

    Chanel Launches New Handbag

It’s been more than six years since Chanel launched the Boy Bag in 2011. Since it’s debut, the Boy has been one of the hottest bags in the world. Maison Chanel is hoping to have the same impact when the company launches the Gabrielle bag this coming month.

Named for the French brand’s founder, Gabrielle Bonheur “Coco” Chanel, the Gabrielle is expected to become a pillar of the Chanel brand. The bag launch will coincide with the rollout of a new fragrance, jewelry and a very large media campaign depicting the designer as a young and rebellious girl, according to WWD. (Perhaps that was the pre-WWII years?)

The new handbag style was inspired by virtual reality goggles and upending the shape, according to Karl Lagerfeld. The Gabrielle has a flat-bottom and is shown in styles raging from a backpack, synch bag and a tote. There are also a bunch of colors and materials from which to choose. Prices range from $3,000 for a classic black lambskin up to $33,000 for a large alligator version. (You can see more pictures of the new bag style here.)

It’s hard to make a full assessment of the Gabrielle without seeing and holding it but the style seems familiar. The new style draws design similarities to the Cambon bucket bag, the now, discontinued Shopping Tote, a backpack and a vintage quilted tote.

We would love to hear your thoughts on the Gabrielle. Is this a new ‘must have’ or a fruitless attempt to avoid luxury stagnation?
