I’m not a big follower of Gwennie but I’ve always respected her luxe sensibilities. Over the weekend, an Instagram follower DMed me about a great markdown on the Goop site. I was skeptical but promised to investigate. After a fulfilling late-night scroll, I decided it was worth sharing.
I’m always a sucker for a white cotton Summer dress. There are lots of options, including this version from Khaite with puffy sleeves that’s $325 from $1080, another style with dainty straps that is $300 from $990, and a gauzy dress from Arkas that’s $100 from $325.
I can vouch that even after scrolling, I haven’t “uncoupled” or considered fruit varieties for baby names. Just take note, all sales are final and we can’t imagine that Gwennie will be very accessible for customer service issues.
This is a big week for those who love to sale. Many retailers will begin their final markdowns. Bergdorf Goodman’s final markdown is scheduled to begin Monday morning online and at the store on Tuesday. Markdowns will hit 75% off retail.
You can click over this way to see what we found at the store just last week. The new pricing will officially go live on the site Monday morning but it feels as if many of the reductions have already taken place. As usual, I suggest you begin your browsing before the sale battalions take over. I’ve already started sticking items in into cart.
I’ve been stalking this Manolo flat sandal in various colors but seem to keep missing my size. There are a few sizes left in this Valentino Rockstud sandal. It’s worth “carting” to see what it goes to next. I love the simplicity of this Paul Andrew sandal but there aren’t very many size options but this Prada kitten heel slingback has a few more size variables,.
This next markdown will bring our primary focus to clothing. There are still many great options and a 75% off reduction is going to make it hard to choose. Here is a Dundas one-sleeve ruffled top that’s perfect for a hot Summer night and it’s already 80% off. I love the colors on this Dolce & Gabbana pajama top and this lollipop print Loewe silk top is adorable with just about anything.
This is the final markdown at Bergdorfs but later this month there will be additional discount promotions. You just never know what merchandise will last that long. For now, we have our shopping card cocked and loaded but let’s hope we can execute on this one.
It’s the first official weekend of Summer and we are still waiting for the sun to shine. Third markdowns started at Barneys and discounts exceed 75% off on some items. Other retailers are just moments away from slashing prices again. Now is the perfect time to plot what you need and grab what’s been hard to find.
In honor of the first day of Summer, Net-A-Porter is offering 20% off a selection of full priced merchandise. Use the code JUNE21 at checkout.
You can see what we’ve been stalking below. Just a reminder: Nobody can have everything.
Global Fashions will kick off an incredible Valentino sample sale starting on Tuesday. All clothing will be reduced 80% off and bags and shoes will be discounted 70% off. Expect to find a large amount of couture runway pieces along with staple Rockstud icons for both women and men.
This is one sale we highly recommend shopping for high-quality wardrobe forever staples. Shoppers should be sure to mention Madison Avenue Spy for additional discount promotions.

It’s been a frightfully quick season as retailer race to eliminate Spring and Summer merchandise. Neiman Marcus is the most recent store to entice customers before the holy Last Call, or third markdown.
Right now, you can browse the sale selection and save an additional 25% to 30% off already reduced merchandise. That brings the discount on may items to 75% off or even more in some items. We scoped out the Neiman Marcus at Hudson Yards for their first ever big markdown. You can see lots of pictures from inside the store, from numerous departments, over this way.
Dior lovers should take note of the plentiful Dior sale selection. The discount is 40% off but it’s not included in the extra discount (for now). Most of the shoppers we saw were European, so maybe there is a chance that they don’t grab everything we J’adore before another price cut. The bag selection at the store contains an assortment of Valentino, Balenciaga, Loewe, and a few YSL pieces. The various options are much better than what remains at Bergdorf Goodman. You can see pictures here.
The first order of online business is to dive into this private Prada men’s sale. You must use this link to access the additional 25% off sale, which brings the total markdown to 60% off on many items. Here are Cloudburst sneakers reduced to $390 from $745. We actually like this red and black combo. Here is a bi-fold wallet with fish for $200 from $460 or a seagull card case is $117 from $260.
These aren’t the lowest markdowns of the season. After the weekend, the promotion will hit an extra 33% off. Your reward for reading to the end of the post is this last piece of information. The coveted Last Call will begin July 27. Stay tuned.

If you’re looking to shop the steepest discounts of the season we suggest you scope out a Nordstrom store. The department store’s half-yearly sale includes lots of designer merchandise that are reduced up to 70%.
Our first sort was Gucci and we were very surprised to find merchandise reduced 70% off. Granted, it’s older merchandise but at these prices, it’s somewhat affordable. This NY patch cream blazer is timeless and now comes to $840 from $2800 and a foil pleated skirt is $660 from $2200.
We have come to the high point of sale season. Many stores have already taken a second cut. We are just moments away from the most desirable third markdown. Before the next big sale event, Bergdorf Goodman will be hosting a discount promotion.
Starting Thursday online and all sale merchandise will be an additional 25% off. That brings the total discount to nearly 70% off most items, which is just a few percentage points higher than final markdown prices. At the store, the promotion will begin on Friday but shoes, handbags and several other departments are not participating.
We decided to get ahead of this big upcoming sale and snapped pictures of in-store highlights. You can browse in-store pictures in the jump. We suggest that online shoppers get browsing now. Sizes are already patchy and merchandise will disappear very fast once the promotion goes live.
The online handbag selection is completely depleted. We suggest you go into the store or call if you see anything in our pictures that you like. You can begin your shoe shopping focused on designers that are already 60% off. Those include Prada, Manolo Blahnik, and Gianvitto Rossi. These Manolo sandals will be $250 from $785, these Paul Andrew high heel sandals will be $210 from $700 and Gianvittor Rossi sandal-style Marry Janes will be $280 from $900.
It’s at this point in the markdown evolution where designer clothing begins to become an interesting prospect. Here is a Balmain blazer that will come to $1000 from $3400. Our target price on this item is $900 but we would grab this because it’s very close. (Sizes are limited.) We love the lines on this Dundas tuxedo dress that will be $1050 from $3500 and we are crazy for this Erdem rose print dress that will come to $750 from $2530.
When prices get this low it’s hard to justify shopping for inferior quality merchandise. If you buy a piece or two every season during these supreme markdowns, you can build an amazing wardrobe. Quality fashion is pretty timeless. Pictures from the store are in the jump.
Just remember to start shopping now. Merchandise will go very fast once word gets out about this next Bergdorf Goodman promotion.
The Dallas-based multi-brand retailer, Forty Five Ten recently made its entry into the New York retail scene at Hudson Yards. The boutique/boutiques are actually comprised of several different retail environments, which are set alongside Neiman Marcus.
The approximation to Neiman Marcus is actually very well thought out. While Neiman Marcus offers a more conservative view of luxury, Forty Five Ten serves up a variety of emerging and fringe luxury designer options. Inside you will find an artful assortment from the likes of Partow, Rachel Comey and Palmer Garding set alongside luxury mainstays like The Row and Prada.
This is Forty Five Ten’s first sale season and we were very curious as to what we would find. Most sale merchandise is reduced 60% off, which is in-line with other big retailers. The big differential is the assortment. We took lots of pictures, which can all be found here.
Forty Five Ten’s fashion assortment is anything but safe but it provides a great alternative to Neiman Marcus. We aren’t sure how New Yorkers will respond to $28 Uber trips to Hudson Yards. For now, there are lots of tourist dollars excited for a luxury impulse purchase.
