Alert: Net-A-Porter Final Clearance Extra 20%

This is what end-of-season shoppers call the final bow. Net-A-Porter is ending their season by offering an extra 20% off some sale merchandise. The sale kicks off on Thursday.

No code is needed to engage the additional. Just look for items identified “Sale Must Have.” (You can see all the eligible items directly in this link.) Once the item is in your cart, and you’ve proceeded to the second page of checkout, the savings will automatically be applied. When you use the extra 20%, the purchase becomes final sale and can’t be returned.

We don’t know what exactly what items will be included in the extra markdown but last year Dolce & Gabbana, Bottega Veneta, Lanvin, and Fendi were included. Usually, the most heavily reduced merchandise is not eligible for the extra 20% off.

This promotion is usually a shopping frenzy. We suggest you start adding items to your cart now and then remove the non-applicable merchandise once the promotion code is live. We will be sure to add item pictures and examples once the sale is officially live.

This sale will run through August 13 but everyone knows that the best items will be gone in the first few hours. Take note, next time you see this selection it will be on the Outnet and prices will be higher.

    ShopBop Discounts Exceed 75% Off

Shopbop is offering a deal that might be hard to refuse. Right now, a selection of spring and summer merchandise is already discounted 70% off but for two days you can save an extra 25%. Use the code EXTRA19 at checkout to engage the additional savings.

I’m actually very surprised about how many great items I found. Check out this dress “beach party dress” from Isa Arfen that’s reduced to about $150 from $650. This Free People beach maxi cover-up comes to about $100 from nearly $200.  It’s technically called the ‘Mykonos Maxi Tom’ and I believe it needs to live out its destiny. I’m also in love with this Koche patchwork sundress that’s already 70% off and comes to $322 from $1440.

This Brandon Maxwell outfit is a dream and it’s 70% off. I can’t decide between the top or the pants. I  might need to get them both. I also wouldn’t mind a pair of these Dannijo earrings that come to $55 from $245. This Hayward corduroy bag is totally worth $170 from $790. I have one in suede and it’s a great item. You won’t regret it.

As far as sales go, ShopBop’s selection seems to be pretty on point. There is a large assortment of price points and even sizes that are still available. Seems like a good opportunity to pick up something extra nice before your big August vacation.

    SSence Discounts Hit 70% Off

As we begin to near the end of the sale season cycle, size options will become a little thin and prices tick up and down from site to site. Our latest browsing session brought us SSense. Discounts on the Canadian site seem to be near or exceed even the steepest local markdowns.

In addition to the steep discounts, there is also a really eclectic assortment that isn’t abundant State-side. We find that the site has the best collection of Instagram-able luxury streetwear style. Here is a Versace tee that’s reduced to $189 from $300. The black version is slightly more. The epitome of street style, Off White, is even more highly reduced. Here is a long-sleeved tee for $125 from $415 and this terry cloth hoodie is $260 from $700.  Palm Angles might even be a little cooler for lack of overexposure and these leggings are just $99 from $325. There are also lots of Heron Preston and Balenciaga.

Beyond streetwear and Instagram royalty, there are also some great FASH-ion items. He is an Erdem floral print dress that’s $315 from $1015. A Dolce & Gabbana floral print dress is $660 from $1700 and shorts are reduced to $200. We found this Missoni headband for $92 and this Joradash multi-color denim skirt is just $90. The site is also amazing for Nikes. Many new styles are reduced to under $80.

You should take note that the most reduced items are final sale. At some point, Ssense does an extra 20% off. We just aren’t sure when it can be expected.

Manolo Begins 2nd Markdown 50% Off

Everyone is still recovering from a long holiday week but we are ready to trade in our Havaianas for Hangisis. The Manolo Blahnik boutique will begin its second markdown on Monday. The sales assortment is better than ever as ownership is changing hands. (You can read a more substantial explanation in our previous Manolo post.)

This most recent markdown follows the 33% discount that started last month. The next, and final, markdown is always our favorite as it offers the best shopping opportunity of the season. We expect that the final price cut will come at the end of the month. Prices normally range from $195 to $350.

You can expect to find a full assortment of shoes from the Summer collection and even lots of classics that don’t usually go on sale. Personally, we are waiting to make our major purchases. After all, so many shoppers are still out of the city. You can click here to see the reports from Manolo’s past final markdowns or slide through the pics to see what similar discounts can be found online.

    July 4th Sale Mania Roundup

July 4th is famous for explosive sales. Some even go as far as calling it ‘Christmas in July.’ Considering the recent third markdowns at department stores– like BarneysBergdofs, and Saks— it’s more like New Year’s in July.

Unfortunately, Net-A-Porter’s July 4th markdown was a fizzle but we did finally relent and cash out our shopping cart. The purchases didn’t end there. The French boutique, 24 Sévres is offering an extra 20% off with the code 20MORE, which brings the discount to nearly 70% off on many items. After, you can use the code July20 to save an extra 20% off shoes on Farfetch and MyTheresa’sextra 20% off discount doesn’t require a code.

Just remember, the holiday promotions don’t end with the fireworks. Extended sales have become as much of a tradition as the underlying sale. The bonus day, final hours and last chances are as commonplace as an afterparty.

Below is a compilation of a few of our favorite things. We can’t wait until they arrive. We will be sure to update this post as we scroll and cart more items.

    Inside Details: Net-A-Porter Final Markdown

We thought it would be a good idea to share some upcoming news before the fireworks capture your attention. Net-A-Porter will begin its final markdown on July 4. Besides for a small sporadic promotion, this is the last price cut that will occur this season. The sale section will stay live through the end of the month.

When Net-A_Porter‘s sale strikes, merchandise tends to go very quickly. The shoes and bags are always the first to fly off the site. We suggest you start browsing and tucking things away in your cart right now.

We have our eyes on this Khaite maxi dress that’s already reduced 70% off and is $354 from $1180. It comes in black too. This Victoria Beckham white dress is silk and isn’t priced significantly more. There are also lots of size options. We love this Versace top that’s great for when you want to swap out a tee for something more dressed up.

There is a large variety of Golden Goose already reduced by 30%. We are anticipating they will be reduced further. You don’t even need to wait for another markdown on this Acne belt. It’s $18 and works as a great pop of color with jeans or a simple dress.

You can easily rationalize this Dolce & Gabbana floral print bikini after another price cut– especially if it fits well. Obviously, you need to wear the coordinating skirt with the bikini. All budgets are blown with this Balmain jacket is under $1000.

These final markdowns are great for scoring high-quality items without sacrificing a tuition payment. We love to sort through what’s left from The Row, Victoria Beckham, and Gabrielle Hearst. We tend to look for pieces that are classic and multi-functional. You know, your savior when you feel like you have nothing to wear? Check out this crepe maxi dress from Gabrielle Hearst that’s currently $920 from $2300.

The NAP final sale is usually pretty fast-moving. Once the sale is over the section completely disappears. TheOut is the next stop– as it becomes past season fashion.

Barneys 20% +15% Off (Sale & Full Priced)

Hey Mad-Spy readers, we have the ultimate deal for you. Barneys has offered us an additional 20% off everything online. You must use this link and the code BNYJULY to activate the promotion. The discount is good on sale and full-price merchandise (except beauty). We have also been told that you can stack the code BNY15 for an extra 15% off sale items.  The two codes combined will save you about 30% off when used together on sale items.

Obviously, we suggest you start your browsing in the sale section where discounts top 75% off. The extra 20% off promo brings the total savings to nearly 85% off.  Here is a silk Prabal Gurung dress that comes to $440 from $2200, a Derek Lam maxi dress is $160 from $800, and this silk floral print dress is $162 from $850.

In the bag section, there is still this Balenciaga ‘Techno’ bag that is $920 from $2290, a VLTN shoulder bag is $1176 from $2445, and this shoulder bag from The Row is $1488 from $2650. The shoe sale department isn’t plentiful but there are these tweed Golden Goose that comes to $256 from $460 and Manolo satin mules are $480 from $1000.

The real fun begins when you start browsing those items that never seem to go on markdown. How about a new pair of classic style Louboutins. The discount even works on preorders for these new style boots. Now would be a good time to take the plunge if you’ve been considering one of these Fontana Milano bags or a Delveaux.

This promotion will only be active until July 3. We suggest you get on it ASAP.

Gilt Bag Sale: Celine, Dior & Burberry

A few weeks ago, I fell upon a Gilt designer bag sale. The prices were great but I felt no urgency to make a commitment. The bag stuck around for a few days. I watched it. Then, in a moment– poof, it was gone. The said bag is full price at various stores and I whimper a little bit every time it catches my eye.

I share this tale as a warning because Gilt just started its early July 4th designer sale. The bag I wanted is still gone but there are many others that catch the eye. Most impressive is the selection of Celine bags, which includes many new Hedi styles. Most are reduced by about 30% off retail, which is only notable because Celine bags never go on markdown. Here is the “Lady Gaga” bag that’s $3200 from $4150, the Triomphe bag is $2845 from $3850, and this Double Strap belt is a good find at $299 from $570. There is also the more Old Celine classic Nano Luggage tote that’s $2300 from $2700.

Some of the other good finds include Tisci’s Burberry belt bag that’s about $1200 from $1500. (Not as discounted as I would like but savings nonetheless.) Check out this Dior C’est that’s $2600 from $3400 and this YSL Vicky is $1700 from $2300.  A Miu Miu shopper makes a great beach bag for $630 from $1020.

Department stores have so much Balenciaga on markdown that a final sale Gilt purchase is unnecessary.  Stay away unless you spot something ridiculously discounted. Don’t go for Valentino unless it’s more than 40% off and Prada needs to be reduced 50%. All bets are off you spot a bag that’s a brand new style or an item you’ve been lusting after and haven’t been able to capture.

For now, I’m going to continue to whine about the bag I missed and hope it turns up again. Wish me luck and learn from my mistake.
