    Global Fashions Valentino Sample Sale

It’s been a while since we’ve been in the trenches of a great sample sale. (We desperately needed recovery time from Hermes.) Next week, Global Fashions is poised to start a new wave of buzz with a Valentino Sample sale.

The sale begins on Tuesday morning and runs for three days. Inside you will find a large amount of Valentino clothing for men and women reduced 80% off. Shoes, bags, and accessories are discounted by 70%.

Some of the sale highlights include nude patent leather Rockdstud heels for $300 from $995 and patent Rockdstuds with a tiny wedge are $225 from $845. Travel: August Vacation Packing List

There is nothing we don’t love about Summer. Even 100-degree weather can’t get us down. Our favorite part of Summer, obviously, is August vacations. Before checking out, it’s always nice to pick up some fun pieces of fashion regardless of where you plan to unwind.

Something new is always fun regardless of if basking in the infinity pool of Hotel du Cap, dancing on tables at Scorpios, in Mykonos, or just slipping into flip-flops for lunch at Duryea’s. Right now there are some great sales on beachwear, which usually runs on a markdown schedule a little bit different than the rest of fashion.

Over this way, we found a this Onia two-piece bathing suit that’s $66 per piece from $95, the perfect Zimmerman beach mini-dress is $170 from $425 and this Etro ruffled dress is perfect for table dancing or yachting and is $240 from nearly $1200. We found these Chloe sandals for $220 from $845.

Not everything you pack needs to be Haute. Asos is perfect for shopping for casual and inexpensive beach pieces. Here is a Chevron print romper (a la Missoni) for just $45, a belted beach shirt is $38, and we love this animal print ensemble that’s even great for after the beach or for a walk into town.

Don’t forget about accessories and jewelry. Bauble Bar is our favorite secret for inexpensive look-great jewelry. We are in love with these customizable bracelet stacks that are $35 and these rainbow huggie earrings are $38. Don’t forget about Roxanne Assouline, this bracelet stack is about $140 from $375.

While everyone is making a spectacle-wearing oversized floppy straw hats, go with something more tailored and demure. Here is a Eugenia Kim hat that’s just about perfect. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for Bottega Veneta’s newest sandals. They are a safe bet for now and later.

An August vacation is a great excuse to take advantage of sale season. It’s also fun to have a few new pieces for an upcoming trip plus you can “apply” them to your fall and winter Caribbean vacations.

Italist’s Biggest Sale Event (Extra Discounts)

Most everyone who shops online (and even those who don’t) are familiar with Farfetch’s international multi-boutique platform. Italist is its lesser-known non-frills competitor. The real win when shopping on both sites is to find items that are priced less internationally.  When clearance season begins is when you really see significant savings.

Starting Wednesday, Italist will begin its biggest sale ever (or so we are told). You can use this link to start shopping now.

We love stalking the handbags for extra arbitrage deals. This Gucci candy bag is on sale for $642 compared to US retail of $1200. I was in shock finding this Celine C bag online at all and it’s discounted to $1600 from a US retail of $3300 and this Prada canvas tote is just $490 from US retail of $990. (I’m still sad from missing a black on one Gilt that was $500.)

Italist is always my favorite site for stalking Christian Louboutins. Here are slingbacks on sale for $385 from a US retail of $800, rainbow glitter flats are $400 from $1200 at Neiman Marcus and nude patent pumps are $460 from a US retail of $700. Other standouts are Chloe scalloped flats that are $300 from a US retail of $500 and Golden Goose sneakers for $340.

We have an eye on this Balmain blazer that’s currently reduced to $774 from a US retail of $2300 and this Balmain tank that’s currently $160 from a US retail of $395. This Dolce & Gabbana poplin floral print dress from this season is $600.

Prices may not seem so discounted when you are looking at the site stright on. We suggest you do a search on Net-A-Porter or Neiman Marcus to get an accurate retail price.

Century 21 Clearance Sale 90% Off

Century 21 department stores started a promotion where clearance merchandise is discounted an extra 40% off. The total savings on many items top out at over 90% off. The promotion is available online and in stores.

Over this way we found Celine high boots that come to $218 from $1400, a Leonard maxi dress is just $131 from $3315, Attico shoes are $210 from $800, and a Givenchy floral print silk scarf is $60 from $400. This morning we spotted Versace scarves but they seem to have all sold out already.

Don’t miss the kid’s selection. There is a Young Versace boy’s down jacket that is priced at $130 from $925, this floral print girl’s Versace dress is $62 from $800 and Naturino sandals are, like, $15 from $72.

These sales are always much better at the store but you have to be careful of damages. There is also the time suck that happens at Century. It’s almost like a — time and money has a knack of vanishing. Sometimes the quick fix of online shopping, even with limitations, is all you need.

    Inside Manolo’s Final Summer Markdown

If you are debating if you should pop over to Manolo Blahnik’s mid-town boutique to scope out their final sale– don’t debate, just go! This sale is the best sale ever hosted at the Manolo store.

All shoes are priced at either $195 or $295. That includes an array of Hangisi shoes. With prices like these and an amazing selection to match, it’s no surprise that 54th Street was the place to be today.

You can click here to see pictures from inside the sale or shop from the assortment we curated above. As a matter of fact, RueLaLa is hosting an amazing Manolo sale with discounts ranging from 40% to 60% off and there are lots of Hangisi, Fabiona, and Lurum styles.

The historical sale is tied to an announcement, in April, that Manolo’s U.S. partner George Malkemus would not be renewing his licensing agreement with the parent company after a 37-year relationship. The corporate shift is the root of the abundance of Blahnik sale merchandise. You can read more insights over here.

Lines at the sale grew quickly as word got out about the amazing prices and assortment. At the end of the day, there were so many shoppers waiting to get into the sale that they were given “come back” cards with numbers for priority entry on Tuesday.

Afternoon shoppers reported that almost all sizes of Hangisi flats were sold out and the heel assortment wasn’t much better. Those who wear a 40 and 41 will have the most luck. We’ve received conflicting reports about restocking. We will update this post as soon as more information is confirmed.

During busy markdown periods, phones are not usually answered at the boutique and sale merchandise is not shopped. This sale is only at the NYC Manolo boutique and discounts are not available online,

A few pointers for Manolo’s final markdown: Shoppers shouldn’t hoard display shoes, you should be loyal to one salesperson (they work on commission) and try to be in and out quickly because there is a one-out-one-in policy when the store is crowded. There are usually only about 15 to 20 shoppers permitted in the store at one time.

This final markdown sale is scheduled to run for about three weeks or until all the inventory is sold. At that time, Manolo employees take a vacation and the boutique reopens with the Fall season’s merchandise.

    Manolo Blahnik Final Markdown

We have made it through two markdowns at the Manolo Blahnik boutique the final price cut is finally here. Starting Monday, Manolo will begin their final markdown of the season.

This will be the last seasonal markdown hosted by the current US ownership. We strongly suggest you take advantage of this markdown because we can’t promise there will be another sale of this magnitude for some time.

The sale styles are from the brand’s exclusive boutique collection and include a variety of Hangisi styles. We expect that the Hangisi shoes will be discounted 60% off which will bring the final price to between $400 and $500, depending on the style. Other styles shoes usually range from $195 for a red dot up to $350 for a green dot. Most shoes and low boots– even highly ornate styles– are priced at $250.

The store might be crowded a little on Monday but there usually aren’t long lines to get in. The length of the sale is undetermined but will definitely run through Friday and possibly even the following week. Styles and sizes tend to run low quickly. If you’re looking for a great deal we suggest you switch out of your heels and take a run over to the boutique asap.

For a full rundown of past final markdowns, you can check out past stories here and here. Feel free to share news of all your finds in the comment section below.

    Weekend Shopping: Impulses & Obsessions

This weeks biggest “like” turned into an obsession when I realized that Bottega Veneta’s Pouch bag was practically sold out everywhere. Some stores are actually taking orders for November delivery. We did a post about it on Wednesday. This morning, I got a few DMs on Instagram and started retracing all my steps. I realized that Bottega restocked a bunch of colors, including the brown and olive:  here is the link. (I think the olive is my favorite.)

This afternoon, we received an email from Moda Operandi with this private sale link that will afford you an extra 20% off with the code PLUS20. I ended up bouncing for these Rosie Assouline earrings for $67 from $280 and am trying these Grlfnd Denim jeans that come to $80 from $250. Keep your fingers crossed, they are final sale.

Somehow this Tiffany Elsa Peretti metal heart cuff ($227) popped into my feed. I have a cue of non-necessary items but this jumped near the top of my list. Then a colleague posted that she was looking for Amina Muaddi satin slingbacks and I found them for $100 less on Farfetch.

I can go on and on but below is a compilation of a few of my favorite sale things. I will be sure to update this post as I scroll uncover more impulse purchases.

The Webster Extra 20% Off Final Markdown

When hot bags go on sale at big department stores they usually fly off the shelves. It’s for this reason that it’s always a good idea to pop over to smaller luxury boutiques that often have a delayed markdown schedule.

Right now, you can save an extra 20% off already discounted merchandise at The Webster. The additional discount brings the total savings to nearly 80% on some items. Use the code EXTRA20 at checkout to engage the additional savings.

The best part of this sale is that The Webster still has a great selection of bags and, we must say, the prices are truly very good.  Over this way, we found this Tisci-Burberry belt bag that we have been stalking. After the extra 20% off it comes to $600 from $1250. We really haven’t seen it discounted at many places. A Givenchy quilted GV3 is $1450 from $2600, a red Chloe belt bag is $480 from $990 and this Staud pink-purple combo is about $100 from $210.

The shoe selection is about where would be at about a markdown. There’s a good assortment of size options, the styles that remain are good and the discounts are attractive. Some of our favorites are these sandals from The Row that are $440 from $1100,  these Aquazzura sandals are $300 from $735 and these Off-White x Jimmy Choo pumps are $230 from $995.

And, of course, there are some great fashion finds. Here is a Tisci-Burberry trench that’s about $1000 from $3450, a Lisa Marie Fernandez bikini is $100 from $400, a Balmain tee is $200 from $500,  Re/Done jeans are $110 from $390 and a Versace tee is $310 from $650.

We suggest you also browse the men’s sale selection. We found some good items that can be shared with him– like this Balenciaga belt that’s $290 from $650. Sharing is caring!
