There are some truly incredible finds throughout the site. We love this silk floral print maxi-dress that’s just $368. The drape on the sleeves of this pink alpaca-wool sweater ($298) makes it ideal to dress up with a skirt or keep it casual with jeans. You can really never go wrong with a relaxed v-neck cashmere sweater and there is a full rainbow of color options from which to choose.

INTERMIX consistently offers an elevated, cool, and feminine aesthetic that is always a great resource for finding the best quality items for a great value.

Gift Guide: What to Get the Horace Mann Girl

New York private school girls are the most interesting specimen. They have more academic pressure than most first-year law students but many are more entitled than a Goldman senior VP. You can pick a random weeknight and observe them in their natural habitat at Nobu57 or Serafina.

Shopping for these girls is no easy task. She has a charge account at Sant Ambroeus and Knicks courtside seats. The bar is high but taking a step off the deep end of restraint is easier than … Serena van der Woodson. Below is a gift guide that can satisfy the private school girl, from Birch to Columbia Grammar.

Cartier string bracelet ($580): Holding out for eighth-grade graduation to get her the Love bracelet? This should make her happy… for now.

MadHappy ($135) or Off-White hoodie: She might ask for Off-White but show her that you’re the OG of cool. MadHappy recently got LVMH investment and is primed to become a luxury fashion household name.

Glossier ($40): The object of the game is to keep her away from your makeup drawer and out of you $250 La Mer creams.

Apple IPad Pro : ($799 with the Bestbuy $150 coupon): The trend seems to be ditching the laptop and going fully IPad. Not sure I’m ready to ditch anything but they are tech natives, or so they claim.

Golden Goose Sneakers: (20% Off): You don’t need a gift guide to tell you she loves GG but the object is to not spend $550.

Brandy Melville: I don’t get it. I wait outside. It’s inexpensive. Fine. Enjoy.

Moncler Hat ($196 from $320): She needs it to match her Winter jacket.

Dior Friendship Bracelets ($420): Perfect content for her Insta.

Gucci Rubber Slides ($210): For St. Barths

Lululemon Warmup Jacket ($128): Bundle it with some 305Fitness classes and she will be all set for a healthy start to the new year.

Bergdorf Goodman: Extra Discounts on Sale 80% Off

As many New Yorkers are beginning to escape for the holidays, Bergdorf Goodman is giving shoppers an extra good reason to celebrate at home. Right now you can save an extra 15% off all sale items.

The promotional discount brings the total savings to over 80%  off on clothing and nearly 65% off on shoes and bags. The selection is still pretty great at the store. We spotted a healthy assortment of Givenchy, Valentino, and The Row bags. You can see pictures over here.

Online we spotted this Bea Vaidas Bella jeweled bag that’s $1756 from $4135. There will be a huge designer push for this tulip shape for Summer. This Loewe Gate bag totals out at $845 from $1990 and this Off-White crossbody is a great gift at just $335 from $790.

Most shoes are 50% to 60% off and we can’t believe how many shoes have sold. (Extra points for Bergdorfs keeping the racks in nearly perfect condition. We noticed that the shoes were even organized by the brand!) Depending on your size, you can still find a few winners but most of the best options are gone. There is still an assortment of Chanel shoes but we would wait for a second markdown at this point. You can take a peek at what we saw in our pictures.

The online shoe selection is non-existant. There are absolutely no designer shoes remaining. Take a look for yourself. It’s difficult to believe but true.

The discounts on clothing might make up for the other disappointments. After the additional markdown, some items are reduced 50% to over 80% off.  Rosetta Getty pants are $180 from $1090 and a Gabriela Hearst cashmere sweater is only $188 from $900.  This Balenciaga floral print top is $400 from nearly $1600, and this Jacquemus animal print trench is $825 from nearly $2500. We are looking at sample-sale style discounts without the hassle or anti-return policy.

Word on the Street, Fifth Avenue & 57th Street to be precise, is that Bergdorfs will be ending its sale at the store in early January. All the remaining inventory will subsequently be moved online. Gone but not forgotten.

    Ssense Second Markdown 60% Off

Ssense started a second markdown today. Discounts are now scaling up to 60% off. If you take time to sort and scroll through the site you will find plenty of surprises.

We were initially struck by this new style Bottega Veneta tote that’s discounted 50% off. We’ve never seen it so reduced. Here is a Saint Laurent small bucket leather bucket bag now  $880 from $1990, this logo shoulder bag is $1283 from $2550 and little camera bags are $660 from $995.

The Balenciaga options are good too. This Shift style is $750 from $1390 and a pink Ville is nearly 50% off. This Givenchy GV3 bag is over 50% off and comes to $1140 and this Fendi mesh bucket bag is $1090 from $2100. This Jacquemus belt bag is a great gift at $190 from $225. Fendi tights are down to $166. This Balmain belt is $400 from $600 but still seems expensive.

The best style shoes aren’t as reduced as some other items on the site. Most styles are limited to one or two sizes. It’s really best to sort for your size and then choose the designers you like best. These Giuseppe Zanotti boots with a chunky chain seem to be overlooked by shoppers and are still available in several sizes.

There will be additional merchandise added to this markdown. Just keep your eyes open because when prices go down the best items tend to disappear in a flash.

    Neiman Marcus Extra 25% Off

We are less than a week into second markdowns but that doesn’t seem to be enough. Starting Monday, Neiman Marcus will be offering an extra 25% off designer clothing in stores and online. (Right now, the online promotion is 20% off sale items.)

We took a spin through our not-so-local local Neiman Marcus to see what we could find. The sale assortment is actually pretty good. There are several options for Balmain blazers that after a second markdown and an extra 25% off come to $860 from $2295.

There is a very good selection of sale items from The Row. A floor-length cashmere robe-style sweater is $1300 and a leather trench style is $4100 from $8390. Online you’ll find this a-line skirt with a front slit for $760 from $1950.  This cream cashmere sweater is under $450 from nearly $1300 and a charmeuse top is discounted 80%.  Here is an Erdem dress from this past summer that’s only $350 from $1740,

The shoes and bags won’t be an additional percentage off until Thursday but there is a lot to stalk. There is a large Gucci, Louboutin, Saint Laurent, and Manolo selection. You can see pictures over here. At the store, almost every style of Christian Louboutin shoe is reduced and there is still a small selection of Chanel options.

Online we spotted these Givenchy lace-up boots that are $703 from $1300, this Rosetta Getty sweater is $400 from nearly $2000, and this Sally LaPoint sweater with fur accents is about $450 from $1500.

The handbag selection isn’t very good online or in the NY store but a good sales associate can always search through the national inventory to find the item you want. We heard rumors that there were some discount Dior saddlebags floating around.

Gifts for the Woman Who Shops (a Lot)

The old adage is that it’s better to give than to receive but who says you can’t enjoy both? A gift is exponentially better when it is accompanied by thoughtfulness. A considerate gift gives the recipient permission to relax, feel joy and indulge in the experience of being doted upon.

Before we jump right in, I hope you don’t mind if I offer a little bit of relationship advice. Whatever he buys you– don’t return it! Once you return enough gifts he will feel defeated and stop buying them. Keep it– even if it’s too expensive, not the right color or completely not your taste. If it’s actually that bad, secretly return it but never let him know.

The same rule goes for your children. Give them the opportunity to enjoy the experience of giving even if it means wearing it just once and hiding it for the rest of your days.

So, now, we present the definitive gift guide on getting it right so that she wears it often, loves it, and cherishes it forever. (As if that actually exists.) Just in case, always shop where purchases can be returned for a full refund and never throw out the receipt.

Bottega Veneta puffy Cassette bag ($2480): The Pouch is Bottega Veneta’s more popular style but an oversized clutch isn’t that practical for everyday use. Go with the Cassette bag for optimum utility and on-trend style.

Gucci Tights ($100): The perfect “stocking stuffer.” The Gucci store offers free shipping, which makes them the most economical online purchase destination unless you’re loading up a cart from another retailer.

Embroidered Dior sandals ($690): Or go for the grand slam and get her the Dior Booktote ($3000) that she has been too cautious to purchase herself. [Shipping is free. No duties or sales tax. Most gorgeous gift box presentation.]

Bea Bongiasca enamel ring ($675): Handmade in Italy, this ring is sculpted from blue enamel ring is a playful squiggle that wraps around your finger. It’s tipped with a sparkling pear-cut crystal set in gold, so it almost resembles a serpent. Wear multiples on additional fingers or stack it with other pieces.

Celine Shopper tote ($1350): How does she do it all? We will never know but the lines and simplicity of this tote are as streamlined as all of her personal efforts. [Shipping is free. No duties or sales tax. Most gorgeous gift box presentation.]

Riki Skinny Mirror ($205): She lights up your life and why not brighten hers. This mirror is surrounded by LED lights, which allows you to see what you’re actually doing. It’s light, thin and doesn’t have a warped reflection, which makes it the holy grail among professional make-up artists.

Dyptique perfumed ceramic tiles ($55): She appreciates life’s little luxuries. Opening a drawer and receiving a lovely unexpected whiff of fragrance when sifting for my desired item is a gift that will continue to give.

Comme des Garcons Play Hoodie ($250, normally $300 US retail): She is casual but that doesn’t mean you need to compromise on style.

Tiffany & Co Elsa Peretti small Bone cuff ($995): She doesn’t need Instagram to be an influencer because she is bold and fearless and that intrigues others.

Golden Goose Sneakers ($318 from $530): She says she doesn’t need anything fancier than her tried-and-true Adidas but you know she has been dying to kick around in something new.

Riki Skinny Mirror ($195): She lights up your life and why not brighten hers. This mirror is surrounded by LED lights, which allows you to see what you’re actually doing. It’s light, thin and doesn’t have a warped reflection, which makes it the holy grail among professional make-up artists.

Despite the attractive accessories options we are always drawn towards the amazing fashion at this sale, which is quite remarkable at 80% off. There are exquisite jackets, coats, and outerwear for men and women. Couture gowns that were showcased on the runway and even less formal items from the designer’s leisure collections.

Who needs to rent high-end fashion when you can own it for even less? Check out this embroidered buttery soft leather jacket that is a ” lifetime” item and it’s $1260 from nearly $6300.
