    Shopping: Impulses & Obsessions

This week has brought a whole new meaning to March Madness. We aren’t even talking about basketball. Online shopping has been an amazing distraction to the never-ending stream of news alerts. Good thing that there is never a lack of fashion temptation.

Tessabit, our favorite retailer in Northern Italy, is offering 25% off new season merchandise. You can use the code MADISONAVENUE25XT to engage the discount.  You must use this link to see the assortment that is included in the promotion.

Tessabit also carries brands that you don’t often find on sale this early in the season. We spotted this Saint Laurant beach bag that comes to $843 from $1125 and this YSL chain bag is about $750 from $1050. Prada sneakers hot off the runway are $466 from $622 and a denim Fendi bucket bag is $1485 from $1980. This promo will continue through Monday.

Neiman Marcus launched a weekend flash sale with some very good finds. There are several styles of Moncler puffers that are reduced by 50% to 60% off. This reversible floral pattern style is $770 from $2170 and the newer hype style with patches is $750 from $1530. With 60-degree weather, it’s a smart move to buy one now and hold it for next year.

Closer to home, we suggest you take a scroll through Net-A-Porter where there seems to be a new round of markdowns. Check out this pretty pink lace top from Anna Mason that’s $250 from $625. and this Zimmerman floral print dress is $340 from $850. An AWAKE Mode maxi pleated skirt is just $186 from $620. It will be perfect for Summer when matched with a tank and sandals. We suggest shopping for items that you can use on for Spring, Summer or save for next Winter.

This week, we also unearthed a new round of discounts from MatchesFashion and got a sneak peek into The Outnet‘s end of year clearance sale where discounts top 90% off. You should also check out 24S, which is also offering 25% off new season merchandise but there are some brand exclusions. The most exciting news of the week was the launch of Hermes beauty where we scored a little lip luxury.

    Happy Weekend and Merry Scrolling!

    MatchesFashion Extra Discounts (Really Good)

This week has seemed the longest of the year. We couldn’t be happier that the weekend is near. A little online retail therapy might be exactly what we need to get us to the end.

We suggest you start your hunt on MatchesFashion, which just took another cut to its Winter collection. I am in love with this pastel gradient ski jacket from Perfect Moment that’s reduced to only $192 from $480, a Bottega Veneta oversized tote from this season is reduced 60% and this Loewe small straw bag just got reduced to $270.

Among the shoes, these Balenciaga square-toe boots that are still current are $636 from $1600. They are a steal at 60% off because they will be carried over to next season.  The same goes for these classic Valentino Rockstud sandals that are 50% off. Prada sandals are $250 from $620, and these Marine Serre print botties are $340 from $1135. I’ve started to see this print around and it’s quite eye-catching.

I was told that this sale will only run through Monday. Not sure MatchesFashion has ever taken anything “off sale” but that’s the official information.

Hermes Beauty: 24 Shades of Orange

Your Kelly bag now has some good company. Hermes launched its first collection of beauty products today, which is comprised of 24 shades of matte and satin finish lipsticks.

The lipstick line features colors pulled from the storied company’s catalog of nearly 76,000 silk and leather shades and are packaged in refillable tubes that are constructed of the same hardware used in handbag frames.

Ten lipsticks are matte finish and 14 have a stain finish. The lipsticks are $68 each and limited edition colors are $72. Refills will be available in the Summer and cost $42. The collection also offers a lip brush, universal lip pencil, a lip balm, and a poppy-orange “lip shine” that imparts a touch of shimmer and sheer color.  Click over to our latest Instagram post to enter two win a tube for you and your friend. Some colors are already selling out but we have the hookup right here

The lip collection is set to be the first in an ongoing series of beauty launches for Hermes. New launches are expected at around six months intervals and will ultimately include foundation, color cosmetics and a skincare line.

24S: Save 25% on New Season

This week, the Parisian-based, 24S is offering discounts that can save you up to 25% off on full-price merchandise. There are a few exclusions like Dior, Fendi, Bottega, Gucci, Celine and a few more. Most everything else is fair game.

    The breakdown is as follows:

Save 15% when you spend $250+ with the code MOONDAY15
Save 20% when you spend $500+ with the code MOONDAY20
Save 25% when you spend $1000+ with the code MOONDAY25

The best part of shopping from 24S is that duties are included and there is no sales tax. In some instances, you’re even able to save even more from the currency conversion.

Some worthy considerations include this Givenchy Eden shoulder bag comes to $1500 from about $2000 and I really love the quilted teal GV3 that comes to $1942 from $3000 on the Givenchy website.  This Prada white canvas bag is great for the beach and is $662 from $1150 in the US.

You can also apply the code to this oversized Valentino belt, which is eye-catching and pairs beautifully with a Dolce & Gabbana print top. I’m in love with the idea of a Versace silk blouse for Spring.

Before you check out, I suggest you do one final scroll of the sale section. There are discounts of up to 70% off. These Balenciaga boots were just shown on the runway and aren’t going anywhere fast but are 60% off. An Acne coat is $575 from $1150, and a Max Mara belted camel coat is $1145 from $2290, and a Balmain velvet blazer is $758 from $2300 US.

This sale will extend through March 7. 24S is one of our favorite online stores. Delivery is super fast and the packaging is a delight.

The Outnet’s Extra Discounts 90% Off

The Outnet is heavily discounting old merchandise in an online clearance sale. The markdowns extend to 90% off. The sale will run for about two weeks with increasing promotions. Right now, most items are running at full stock, which means you have your option os sizes and selection.

I did some early morning browsing and found a few items you might not want to let slip away. Here is a Preen floral print dress for $140 from $1400, an IRO white leather moto jacket is also $140, and here is a Rosie Assouline trench-type jacket for a mere $204 from $1700.

The shoe section isn’t quite as good but there are some opportunities. Here are Rick Owen thigh-high platform boots that would otherwise be price restrictive but are now $430 from $2800. The lower style is only 65% off and comes out to $680. Saint Laurent booties are $558 from $1400 and these Roger Vivier heels are 85% off and come to $370 from over $2000. Sizes are spotty and styles are selling out we suggest you dive in by sorting by your size.

In the handbag section, you will find lots of Valentino styles reduced 60% off. This studded style is about $1000 from $2600. You can also check out the McQueen and Miu Miu styles.

The Outnet clearance sale just kicked off this morning but there will be more merchandise added on March 9.  The final push will begin on March 11, when there will be further reductions.

    March Sample Sales ????????????

The sample sale situation has been a little drab since the holiday season but that will change soon. March usually goes in like a lamb and out with several roaring sales. We are most excited about the possible finds at Oscar de la Renta and that “multi-brand” sample sale that we scooped.

You will notice that we don’t usually list cosmetic and beauty products as part of our recommendations. Lines are often unnecessarily long and the sales are filled with resellers. There are enough inexpensive drugstore brands that you don’t need to stock up on 15 colors of eyeshadow just because it’s a sample sale.

We will be sure to keep you updated in this space. Feel free to ask questions and leave intelligence in the comment section below.

    Roxanne Assoulin Sample Sale CANCELLED
Who doesn’t love Roxanne Assouline? The answer is easy. Everyone loves Roxanne Assouline’s stackable fun jewelry and we found out exactly how much last season. The lines to get into this sale were hours long. We suggest avoiding the long wait and shopping Moda Operandi’s end of season sale if you’re looking for deals on fun and fashionable jewelry.

    Oscar de la Renta
Last season’s ODLR sale included a great assortment of almost all designer’s categories including dresses, gowns, coats, day-wear, skirts, furs, jewelry, belts, bags, shoes, kids clothing, and bridal gowns. Most items were priced between 70% and 90% off retail. Belts and jewelry were 80% off and some shoes were priced as little as $20. The best finds are always those that are current season. Click over to the post from the Fall sale for more details.

    Multi-Brand Streetwear (KITH)
Throw the brands Off-White, Palm Angels, Heron Preston,  Nike, and Alexander Wang into a sample sale and Kith is the only logical origin. We haven’t received confirmation that this is officially a Kith sample sale but our inside sources won’t deny it either. Last season’s similar sale flew under the radar. The discounts were 60% off but there wasn’t a lot of merchandise from the headlining brands. We have a feeling that there will be more this time around and the crowds will be bigger too. How cool would it be to find something from the Versace or Tommy collab. A girl can always wish. Proceed with caution.

VIP Preview: Save Up to 25% on Shopbop

For a long time, department stores have been luring shoppers with gift card shopping incentives. We’d prefer a straight discount over a gift card any day. It’s always more attractive to save money now than be offered the promise of a gift card in the future– especially when it’s likely to expire.

Good thinking: Shopbop is offering a shopping discount incentive that increases with the more you spend. The best part is that we just got early access. You can start shopping now and use the code SPRING to save on items marked ‘Key Style’.

    15% off orders of $200+
     20% off orders of $500+
     25% off orders of $800+

We aren’t always the hugest fans of Shopbop but the options are excellent this season. We found lots of singular items that could be the foundation of a very stylish outfit. Check out these Trave pants that incorporate one of our favorite trends– the ankle tie. There is also an olive option.

We have similar feelings about this Alexander Wang deconstructed trench-style skirt. The temperatures are barely above freezing and this Preen skirt is nearly sold out and this denim top from Isabelle Morant is absolutely perfect for the transition season.

The sale opens to the public on Monday and the promotion runs through Sunday, March 8. The next big Shopbop deal doesn’t usually take place until early April.

    Weekend Shopping: Impulses & Obsessions

The Gucci fur-lined slide was introduced as part of Alessandro Michele’s Fall 2015 Gucci collection. The shoe was also an early participant in the Instagram influencer gifting strategy. It proved to be a brilliant move for this Gucci bourgeois signature item that still seems mildly relevant today.

Most people opted for the slide without germ collecting fur or the now-classic Princetown loafer. Both options are a staple for almost anyone fashionably include who is 15-years-old or over. Many people own multiple pairs and some have even overindulged in questionably tasteful colorways from neon to colorful tapestries. There is no doubt that the loafer is a highly utilized wardrobe staple but so much about fashion is expressing your individualism and I set out on a hunt to find Gucci loafer alternatives.

This season, Prada ($850) is offering a lug sole with its iconic triangle emblem. Bottega Veneta’s kitten heel loafer ($970) is already a big hit for Spring as it is perfect for showing off a logo sock and can be easily paired with a skirt or dress. The Row ($940) offers a classic no-logo no buckle option but those one team Row will always identify their kind.

My personal favorites are the Givenchy option ($890), which has a chunky chain ornament, the tow-tone Celine loafer ( $920) and the Louis Vuitton ($1140) two-tone style with a hit of logo on the back. Finding these styles on sale is difficult at the moment but they are worth watching if you’re in the market for something unique.

By way of sales, there aren’t many highlights this week. Coltori, an Italian boutique, continues to offer the most attractive deals. Sale items are an additional 30% off with the code EXTRAMOON30 and full-price merchandise is 25% off with the code DEALMOON25. The highlight of the sale is that there is no sales tax, no duties and many items are already priced less than in the US.

I found a floral print Dolce & Gabbana dress is $575 from $1500,  a PVC Fendi bucket bag is $910 from $1370, and Amina Muaddi boots are $370 from over $1000 US. From the full price assortment, there are lots of brand exclusions but you can apply the code to Paris Texas boots that come to $331 from $700 US and a Zimmerman dress is $600 from $850 US.

The site is absolutely worth a scroll. Coming up this week, we are preparing for a few great promotions and sample sale season is about to begin again. Stay tuned. Happy scrolling and have a great weekend.
