Lake Como’s Tessabit ‘Best Customers” Discount

The sales in Italy are very competitive this season. The Italian boutique, Tessabit is taking its sale section and reducing designer merchandise even more for it’s ‘best customers’. Mad-Spy readers can receive an additional 10% off through this link with the code: MADISONAVENUE10X.

Remember, the extra discount code can only be applied to the items in this edit. Some highlights include Chloe slingbacks for $270 from $620 US retail. A Balmain dress is $720 from $1450, a Rick Owens leather jacket is $740 from $1638, and Moncler sneakers are  $260 from $475.

We always love a secret sale section but don’t overlook the full-priced merchandise. Most brands are  25% with the code to TSB25. The code doesn’t work on all designers but can be applied to Fendi, Balenciaga, and Givenchy.

The selection for men is as good, if not, better than the options for women. So don’t be shy forwarding the code to your male counterparts.

The best part of the Tessabit promotion is that the merchandise is coming from Italy and many of the items retail for less money when compared to our retail prices. Shipping costs are nominal, all duties are covered and even returns are free. There’s also no sales tax, which can mean a savings of an additional 10%. You can’t do much better than that!

    Italist Discounts Get Serious (Con’t)

As European stores dive deep into sale season, we got a heads up that the multi-boutique platform Italist added more merchandise to its sale section. We couldn’t help from taking –another –scroll to see what deals we could find.

Here is a Balmain blazer in pink for $850 from $2300 US retail. (This item is a great deal for under $1000 and this is even better.) This Celine logo tee is $273 from $400+ US retail and a Celine sweatshirt is $350 from $515. A Balenciaga swing shirt is $578 from $757.

Don’t miss a Golden Goose browse through the kid’s section. Here is GG pair for just $286 from $550-ish US and they are a size 36. This GG with a red star is $350 and available in a size 36 to size 40.

These Italist items will go fast once word gets out. We suggest that you don’t wait very making decisions. It feels like magic when you find a great selection and substantial savings.

    Ssense Designer Finds

Ssense has been leading the charge through sale season. The site’s official designer sale started last week but there have been amazing discounts for months. What’s most surprising is that there are continually new finds.

The best deals aren’t necessarily found in the sale section but within the regularly priced merchandise. For instance, here is a Bottega Veneta pouch bag that’s $2190 from $2700 US retail, these Gucci sandals are $570 from $730 and Gucci tennis sneakers are $535 from $690. As a matter of fact, there are lots of Gucci Princetown loafers for $675 from $730.

For those looking for more aggressive discounts, there is always the sale section. This new season Versace bathing suit is $245 from $545 and this Richard Quinn dress is a find at $331 from $735. This Off-White Binder Clip bag still feels classic and it’s $573 from $2100 and this Mansur Gavriel pouch is $340 from $600. (I don’t recall seeing it less expensive.)
The thing with Ssense is that you have to spend time and explore continuously. We will be sure to add more finds to the post if we over the next few days.

Coltorti: Big Discounts on Classic Luxury

We wouldn’t expect the end of this “socially distanced” holiday weekend to be a big transition but the entire experience felt like a compromise and not completely satisfying. To add a jolt of excitment we saved the best sale for last.

Right now, you can head over to Coltorti and save 20% off nearly everything on the site with the code DEALMOON20. The 20% off isn’t newsworthy in itself but it adds up to 40% to 50% off US retail and there are lots of great classic designer styles from which to shop.

The small YSL LE 61 bag comes to $1145 from $2050 US retail. That’s nearly half-off and there are even more classic styles like YSL Vicky is $1347 from $2000 US retail.  This Fendi tote is $1300 from $2400 US retail and Bottega Veneta heels are $480 from $870 US retail. See, the price difference is really extreme.  The code works on sale merchandise too.

Our advice is to search for items that are difficult to find discounted and not to hesitate. The selection is quickly dwindling and we don’t anticipate a restock any time soon. Just take note, that duties aren’t included and that could mean an extra 10% on items valued over $800.

    Weekend Shopping: Impulses & Obsessions

Welcome to week (I lost count) of quarantine weekend shopping. Some notable highlights include Chanel shoppers scrambling to purchase bags before Monday’s price hike and retail stores beginning to open in some parts of the country.

There seems to be a mad rush of shoppers as retail begins to open. (Click here to see a video of Nordstrom Rack in Los Vegas.) Once the initial wave of shoppers purchase what they need and satisfy their desperation to be outside, we will get a more accurate assessment of the retail environment. I am worried the news will not be good.

Those still at home, present company included, will have to continue to satisfy our retail needs online. The good thing is that there are plenty of holiday weekend sales. You can click here to read about them all and to see my favorite sale items.

NEW: Click over to LuisaViaRoma to save 30% off with the code MDAY30. Not everything is included and it’s hard to tell what will work before you put it in the cart with the code. Some hidden highlights include a new season Balenciaga mules for $525 from $750 and the flat style is $1300 from $1900. Fendi espadrilles are $455 from $650 and this Balenciaga tee is $315 from $450. Remember there is no sales tax, duty, or shipping fees, which make the deal even better.

Blue & Cream is offering an extra 25% off sale items with the code MDW25. There are a lot of great Zimmerman items that go down to about 50% off with the code. This embroidered shirt is $312 from $600 and a floral print halter dress is $365 from $700. Also, check out the denim. GRLFRD jeans are $130 from $250 and Mother jean shorts are $85 from $228.

Some of the weekend highlights include Intermix where sale items are an additional 40% off.  Here are Manolo heels for $258 from $725 and white jeans from Veronic Beard are $83 from $220.  I suggest you browse through the denim options. I am willing to take the “final sale risk” on brands I already wear. Intermix has wonderful customer service. I’ve never been burned.

Next, don’t underestimate the markdowns at Saks where some items have been further reduced. An ombre maxi-dress from Sea is $155 from $345, Off-White sneakers are $372 from $620 and these Manolos are $253 from $845.

If you’re looking for the most high-end designer deals, you’re not going to want to miss the holiday promotion on Shop375. Everything on the site is an additional 25% off with the code Memorialday25. This Chanel beach tote for $562 might be the deal of the year. This Balmain tank has become a staple of my Summer wardrobe and it’s $198 from $350.

Yoox has a lot of additional markdowns for the holiday weekend. Saint Laurent logo sandals are $474 from $795 US retail and this Prada iconic print lips skirt is $299 from $650. Over at Kirna Zebete you can save 25% off full-priced merchandise with the code WFH25. I can’t believe this Bottega Veneta Cassette bag is still available at $1400 from $1900. It fits a lot more than the puffy style and it’s a lot more affordable.

Before you tune out and turn in, don’t miss the great beauty promotion from Ole Henriksen. I’ve been using the 3 Wonders Regimen Set for about a month now and love it. You can use the code MADSPY15 and the entire three-piece set comes to just $62.90 from a value of $93. The combination of products is truly all that I’ve bee using and the glow makes me so happy that I’ve sent a few kits to my friends. You can read more about the products here.

For all those wondering, Net-A-Porter won’t begin markdowns until mid-June. We expect this coming week to be a bit quiet following all of the holiday promotions. Even so, you can bet there will be something to buy.

Until next week… Same time, same place?

UPDATED: Memorial Day Sales Official Guide

Anyone with an active email address will be bombarded with markdown deals this week. Most sites will have sales of up to 50% off but discounts vary from item to item. Below is our breakdown of online sales. We will continue to keep this post active and updated throughout the week.

Below each retailer heading, we give a short overview of the sale and highlighted some of the best sale pieces from their site. You can also scroll through the images below to visually see all of our favorites sales picks. Let me know if I overlooked any of your favorite shopping destinations or if there is an item I omitted.

    Kerna Zebete
Discount Amount: 25% off full-price items with the code WFH25 or sale 65% off
Gucci belt bag $474 from $790
Bottega Veneta cassette bag $1400 from $1900
    Givenchy Eden $860 from $2450
Report Card: B At first glance it may look there isn’t much on sale or the discounts aren’t high enough. Don’t stop. We found items priced to the LSP (lowest seen price). There are also some unusual full-price finds, which can be used with the 25% off code.

    Intermix
    Discount Amount: 65% off
    Don’t Miss:
    Manolo Lurums: $467 from $1300
Manolo suede pumps $250 from $700
    Zimmerman shorts  $179 from $475
Report Card: A- This markdown is supposedly for VIP entry only. Click on any of the links and navigate from there. These extra discounts are amazing. You won’t find a better deal anywhere right now. Don’t miss the Manolo selection. At 65% off they will go very fast.

    Moda Operandi
Discount Amount: Up to 50% off
    Don’t Miss:
    Off-White top handle bag $1118 from $2235
Bottega Veneta card holder $200 from $290
I Love Mr. Mittens knit cardigan $290 from $580
Report Card: B- So much beautiful clothing but there is no place to wear any of it. The prices are still quite high. On most items, we would wait it out and hopefully, soon there will be places to go and reasons to celebrate.

    Nordstrom
Discount Amount: Up to 60% off
    Don’t Miss:
Manolo Hangisi print shoes $600 from $1000
Isabel Marant dress $238 from $600
    Nili Lotan $158 from $400
Report Card: B There are some very good designer markdowns but we wish “the good stuff” was reduced a bit more. We suggest considering items at the 60% off the mark but waiting for additional discounts on merchandise that hasn’t been reduced as much.

    ShopBop
    Discount Amount: 15% off $300+, 25% off $600+ Code: JUST4U
    Don’t Miss:
Poupette St Barth dress $216 from $350 (+15% off)
Mansur Gavriel clutch $600 (+25% off)
SEA lace blouse $175 from $250 (+15% off)
Report Card: B- A straight discount is much better than discount levels, especially when the level for 25% off is so high. The great selection redeemed this sale. There are really lots of great options. It’s safe to speculate that this Summer’s wardrobe will be more casual than usual. Weeding down your want list will be difficult. Maybe, buy one or two pieces now and save the rest for later.

    24S
Discount Amount: Up to 50% off
    Don’t Miss:
    Off-White baby box bag ($558 from $930)
Valentino studded bag ($940 from $1875)
Gianvitto Rossi holographic shoes ($430 from $717)
Zimmerman white lace dress ($600 from $850)
Report Card: B+ The selection is pretty good. There are several pieces of high designer items but you have to do a little bit of digging. The discount isn’t the highest but the selection makes up for it. You also can’t underestimate the value of duty-free, tax-free, and free shipping.

    Farfetch
Discount Amount: Up to 50% off
    Don’t Miss:
    Khaite dress ($712 from $1800)
Aquazzura suede sandals ($318 from $800)
    Fendi shopper ($1700 from $3000)
Cecilie Bahnsen dress ($283 from $567)
Report Card: B There is nothing that can’t be found on Farfetch. Everything is there. Pricing can sometimes be confusing. In the past, we’ve spotted major discounts and turned away to find that the sale price has disappeared. We aren’t quite sure how that can happen so quickly. This is a solid markdown but you can bet there is a lot more to come.

    MatchesFashion
Discount Amount: Up to 50% off
    Don’t Miss:
    Fendi-Fila Tee ($385 from $770)
Balenciaga BB logo velvet mules ($600 from $1200)
    Balmain tee ($177 from $300)
Report Card:C+ There aren’t many good items from top luxury designers. The designer merchandise that’s discounted is several seasons old. You will find the best value among the items from more emerging brands. The bright spot is that they are more affordable to start.  Some suggestions include Batsheva, Avec Moderation, and Emilia Wickstead.

    Neiman Marcus
Discount Amount: Up to 50% off
    Don’t Miss:
    Off-White top handle bag ($965 from $1600)
Isabel Marant hightop sneakers ($161 from $270)
See by Chloe white eye-lit blouse ($200 from $414)
Report Card: C- Unfortunately, this sale doesn’t seem to contain anything we haven’t seen before. We are quite sure that the bankruptcy proceedings will inhibit major markdowns. Once Neiman Marcus settles its plans we are sure to see lots more markdowns.

    Saks Fifth Avenue
Discount Amount: Up to 50% off
    Don’t Miss:
Valentino studded platform sandals ($465 from $755)
Paco Rabanne paillette dress ($2100 from $3500)
    Balmain tote ($960 from $1600)
Manolo Blahnik mules with buckle ($600 from $1000)
Report Card:B Most of the selection is comprised of items that have been on sale for some time. There are some good additions. It shouldn’t be a lot of time until a lot more of the top designer merchandise is added. During the past few seasons, Saks has scattered the price reduction of bags to keep us coming back. This is a site you will want to keep a close eye on.

OLEHENRIKSEN: Brighten Your Skin and Day with 30% Off

    Sponsored by OLEHENRIKSEN and ShopStyle

Everything has scaled back since we’ve been socially distanced and started spending exorbitant amounts of time at home. Our every day has been significantly pared down: Dress-up has morphed to loungewear, dinner parties have transformed to home-cooked meals with family and the glam squad of the past has been modified to natural beauty.

As a matter of fact, a few weeks ago, I applied my regular beauty and cosmetic routine and found myself feeling like a clown. From that moment, I made it a mission to find products that enhance my natural features.

OLEHENRIKSEN’s brand new, age-defying, 3 Mega Wonders regimen set is exactly what I needed to accentuate my natural glow and enhance my inner beauty. OLEHENRIKSEN uses cruelty-free, paraben-free, and phthalate-free high-performance formulas to improve the look and feel of your skin. The combination of the Glow2OH Dark Spot Toner with the Banana Bright Vitamin C Serum and the C-Rush Brightening Gel Crème, delivers brighter, bouncier, and more vibrant looking skin.

Their new 3 Mega Wonders regimen set offers a complete anti-aging regimen with products that you can use both AM or PM to smooth texture, reduce dark spots, diminish the look of fine lines, and give you a brighter and more moisturized complexion. The set includes all three of the products I mentioned in the following sizes:

This set is a $93 value that’s retailing for just $74. You can also get an additional 15% off this set with code MADSPY15 through June 15. That brings the retail price to only $62.90 or 30% off the value price. If you order before May 26, the deal will include a free mini Truth Juice Daily Cleanser and an upgrade to free expedited US shipping. Beautiful, brighter, bouncy skin for that price seems like an amazing deal to me.

Confirmed Chanel Prices for May 2020

The dreaded Chanel price increase is coming stateside in a matter of days. We just received confirmation of pricing and as suspected it’s not good but not nearly as bad as the price hikes experienced in other countries.

    Also sited on Spottedfashion

Many classic US Chanel bag prices will increase between 5% and 12% on May 25. Other global prices have increased an incredible 17% to 15%.

Price hikes appear to relate to currency values in a specific country. Australia is likely to be the hardest-hit when it comes to price adjustments. Asia and the Middle East have also been susceptible to considerable currency-related shifts.

Raising prices during a global pandemic seems counterintuitive but the initiative is most logically an attempt to maintain worldwide inventory levels. As economies opened in Asia and Europe, images of throngs of desperate Chanel customers have been swarming social media.

The fundamental truth is more likely raising prices to reach revenue targets. Why would Chanel allow a pandemic to get in the way of meeting earnings projections?

Many longtime Chanel customers have voiced disgust in the timing of this price hike and have stated that they will not be adding to their current Chanel collections. A classic Chanel Maxi will now only be about $2000 than a 25cm Birkin ($9850 in Swift). For further comparison, a Cartier Love bracelet is $1400 less than a Maxi Chanel bag.

For now, there are plenty of alternative financial allocations that can be made in the substitution of a new Chanel bag. Vacation and fine jewelry, seem like a more satisfying purchase. What do you think?
