Denim seems like the logical option as the weather transitions into the warmer season. Jeans and a tee. Jeans and a leather jacket. A dress with a jean jacket. One step above sweats but restrained dress up.
This is the perfect time to grab some wear-now dungarees. Frame is hosting an online sample sale where lots of great items are reduced up to 80% off. You can use this link to enter the sample sale section. The selection includes shorts, tops, bags, shoes, and of course, the American gold wardrobe standard of jeans.
This week I had an impulse to buy a gown. I don’t have any place to wear it but I have the strongest desire not only to dress up but to fully gala. With no exaggeration, I spent at least 10 hours scrolling through dresses
The exercise was quite useful. I confirmed that most formal gowns are horrendously ugly. I also found myself gravitating to the same designers that I have always loved. As a matter of fact, any dress I’ve ever wanted I already own or considered buy and would be happy if I did. If you hit the jump I posted pictures of dresses that haunt my dress-up dreams. Some of my current favorites are Toni Maticevski, Brandon Maxwell, Alexandre Vauthier, Mohammed Ashi (Ashi Studio), and Delpozo. Of course, there’s lots of vintage inspiration too.
Now, I just need to figure out is where to wear this said gown. Will it be La Grenouille, Le Bernardin, Indochine or Mansion Diner?
Moving on to this week’s sales, I must admit to possibly overindulging. I leaped when I notice that the exact color of the exact Bottega bag I wanted was about 30% off what it costs locally. As a matter of fact, TheDoubleF has lots of new season designer items priced lower than in the US and you can save an additional 10% off with the code WELCOME10. This mini Jodie in aqua is a find at $1300 from $1800 US. You can click here to see all of our favorite finds.
Ssense started a promotion where you can save 15% off with the code SHOP15. The situation is such that there are so many exclusions that it’s almost difficult to find qualifying items. You can see all the exclusions and the best buys here. We are partial towards the new Chloe Kiss bag, which is included in the promotion. Is there a limit as to how many bags one person should buy in a week? I’m asking for a friend.
It’s also notable that sale season is just around the corner. I highly recommend you download Haute Pursuit to your desktop if you already haven’t. It’s a great way to assure that items aren’t discounted anywhere for less. There are no codes or extra searches. The feature scans the web automatically while you’re shopping. You can click here for more details.
Stay tuned. Until next time… same time, same place?
Now that we’ve had our fill on that we started digging into items that were more recently added to the site. We noticed a large assortment of Golden Goose sneakers discounted 25% off. There are some hot Balenciaga bags discounted 30%. If you need sandals, don’t miss the selection of Alexandre Birman styles that are reduced up to 70% off. Some styles are even in stores now.
The sunglass selection is spectacular. Nearly all Gucci sunglasses are reduced priced at $129 and $189. Bottega Veneta sunnies are $129 and they come with a great woven carrying pouch. That’s two accessories for barely the piece of one.
All of our favorite accessories are arranged above. Trying to narrow it down is the hard part.
This is always a fun time of year. Stores are quiet, the fashion is fresh, and sale season is right around the corner. Once markdowns begin, it becomes increasingly difficult to find the best destination to buy a specific item. It’s best to prepare now.
With a little twist of technology, we are making it a lot easier to find the right item for the best price. Haute Pursuit is a desktop browser extension that actually scans thousands of websites to find alternative sale options while you’re already shopping. You can click here to download the extension to your browser now. (Unfortunately, this feature cannot be used on mobile devices.)
We recently added dozens of new sites in our most recent update. That means that you’re more likely to find a great deal while you’re shopping. If you know exactly what you want, you can click the Haute Pursuit icon in your toolbar and enter a search term.
Haute Pursuit will scan your key term against 1000s of retailer’s websites to find you all the matches that are on sale. The extension can be used with Safari, Chrome, or Firefox.
Let’s say you’re shopping on Italist for a Fendi dress. You find a great black and white color combination and see it’s already reduced over $265. Not bad, right? Without even another click Haute Pursuit offers you all the other sale options for Fendi dresses. What do you know… The same dress is available for even less. SCORE! Total savings: $300.
Haute Pursuit is still in Beta testing and doesn’t automatically drop-down suggestions at every retailer but we are adding more retailers every week. Always remember, you can also tap the Haute Pursuit icon in the toolbar and enter a search term to find nearly any item for which you’re in “Haute Pursuit.“
Downloading the Haute Pursuit extension is very easy and will immediately engage. Just one note for Chrome users: After downloading, hit the puzzle piece next to your search bar and hit the pin icon. Feel free to contact us at hello@hautepursuit.co if you have any questions, feedback, or comments.
If you’re looking for savings on the hottest items of the season it’s usually best to shop early in the season. European sites inherently offer designer fashion at about 10% to 15% off US prices when the currency exchange is favorable. When you can add an extra promotion the savings becomes even more meaningful.
Right now, the British site TheDoubleF has lots of great designer items priced lower than in the US and you can save an additional 10% off with the code WELCOME10. Just take note, the site does not include duty. Items over $800 may be subject to taxes in the amount of 9%. That still translates to a nice savings over US retail prices.
Some examples include this Prada quilted nylon bag that comes to $1200 from $1890 US. Even after duties, you’ll save $600. That’s a bit more than 30% off. This Bottega mini Jodie is $1330 with the promotion and after duties, the savings is $430. Bottega Raffia heels are $790 from $1020 US.
Above is a selection of the most requested items of the Summer. Once these are gone it might be a long while before we find another destination offering significant savings. Search now for the items you want most.
Intermix started a flash sale that will save you 30% off a selection of fill-priced and sale merchandise. The promotion isn’t slated to start until Wednesday but you can use this “VIP link” to access the savings now.
I don’t recall a year when mothers were more deserving of heroic recognition. We are teachers, chefs, housekeepers, mental health counselors, friends, physical trainers, activity directors, and that doesn’t even include our professional obligations.
I appreciate that times are hard but this is not the year to slight the woman who runs the roost. No matter your budget, it’s incumbent upon partners and children to make sure your madre feels appreciated.
If budgets are tight you can make a giant ode to mom in the form of a sidewalk chalk card or cook her favorite restaurant dinner and clean it up. Be sure to top it off with lots of hugs and kisses. Even better, if you’re in the position to do so, buy her something she would love.
